Once More with FeelingCraig Ferguson (201) sl Friday, December 19th marked the final episode with Craig Ferguson as host of The Late Late Show. After ten years and more than two thousand shows, Craig sat down with former Tonight Show host Jay Leno to savor one more conversation. When Craig took the job, the advice he was given was to make the show his own. And while it took some time, he most certainly did, and there won’t be another show like it. Lots of entertainment writers and fans across the country agree, with stories in Variety, Deadline.com, Vox.com, USAToday, the New York Observer (and another from them), Fourthmic.com, TVGuide.com, TVLine.com, The Wrap, The Daily Dot, Elite Daily, ThankYouLizLemon.com, brycejmcneil.com, Ken Tucker at Yahoo.com, Examiner.com (talking about the show’s theme song), Esquire.com, the Los Angeles Times (which gave him a bad review early in his tenure and now calls him “the best host on TV”), Mediaite.com, CNN.com, CBS News and many more. If you haven’t seen the show, you may want to wait before watching the promotional clip CBS released on Friday morning, another revealing the men inside Secretariat later in the day, along with a montage of monologues. Guests making special appearances on the Friday night finale included: Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick (plus their dog Lily), Kristen Bell, Pierce Brosnan, Steve Carell, Don Cheadle, Kristen Chenoweth, Marion Cotillard, Tenacious D, Jeff Daniels, Ted Danson, Kat Dennings, Julia Louis-Dreyfus & Tony Hale, Carl Edwards, Cedric the Entertainer, Jon Hamm, Sean Hayes, Samuel L. Jackson, Rashida Jones, Toby Keith, Jimmy Kimmel, Mila Kunis, Lisa Kudrow, Jane Lynch, Justin Long, James Marsden, Matthew McConaughey, Mary McCormack, Joel McHale, Tim Meadows, Metallica, Kunal Nayyar, Geoff Peterson, Regis Philbin, Ray Romano, Bob Saget, William Shatner, Michael Sheen, Quentin Tarantino, Josh Robert Thompson, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Henry Winkler, Shailene Woodley, Weird Al Yankovic, Larry King, Angela Kinsey, Betty White, Thomas Lennon and more. Fan @GuillerLizaran from Spain created a wonderful illustration in tribute of Craig’s final show. And we’ve seen a fun and cheeky tribute video from Kaleidalee and a great rendition of the theme song from Paul Lasko. Well done, all! Next up for Craig is a vacation for the holidays. Then, he’ll be on the road for two months, with a string of stand up comedy appearances around the country in February and March. He’ll also continue to host Celebrity Name Game and executive produce I F-ing Love Science for the Science Channel, and there will be many more projects to come. We’re looking forward to what comes next! Keep an eye out next week, when Craig will appear on Shawn and Larry King‘s Back and Forth Podcast. They usually post a new episode every Thursday but may send it out a bit early due to the holiday. A Little Promotion CBS put up a billboard on Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax near CBS Television City, thanking Craig and Company for a great ten-year run on The Late Late Show. The RSA’s @LearBeer (daytime) and @NancyInTampa (evening) took some great photos:

Holiday Break As we outlined a couple of weeks ago, now that Craig’s run on The Late Late Show is wrapping up, we’ll be taking a break for the holidays. Then, when the new year gets under way, we’ll be switching from daily posts to a once-per-week summary of Craig-related news. Our first weekly post will appear on Wednesday, January 7 and continue on Wednesdays going forward. January 7 also happens to be the night of the People’s Choice Awards (fingers crossed). We’ll continue to send out our email newsletter with each new post, as well as links on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks as always to the entire robot skeleton army, and to our many contributors who make this site possible. We’ll see you in the new year!
Craig Interviewed To date, this is still one of the best interviews we’ve ever seen of Craig. Kevin Pollak conducted an in-depth interview with Craig a few years ago, where they covered a lot of ground talking about Hollywood and life away from it. If you haven’t had a chance to see it, set aside a couple of hours, get some popcorn and enjoy. Video courtesy: KevinPollaksChatShow
