Fresh New Shows Craig Ferguson is back in the saddle at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, for fresh new episodes of the Late Late Show. Craig in Oklahoma The RSA”s @colleen_byrne was among the enthusiastic crowd watching Craig perform at the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, OK on Saturday night. She wrote about show and is sharing it with us. There are some mild spoilers, so if you are planning to see Craig live soon and don’t want any details about his act, you might want to move on to the photos. Just setting the scene! 😉 The Robot Skeleton Army was well represented at Craig’s show in Thackerville, with a bunch of us concentrated in rows AA and BB, right behind the high roller VIP seats. As the theater filled but those VIP seats still sat empty, we contemplated mounting an attack to take the seats for ourselves. Happily, and probably lucky for us, the seats were filled and the anticipation was high for the start of the show. Ted Alexandro opened the show after an offstage introduction from Craig. I think he’s a really good opener for Craig because their deliveries are so different. Ted speaks quietly and doesn’t move around much and Craig of course is all over the place. Ted did a great set highlighted by stories about his former career as a grade school music teacher. Craig even threw in a few callbacks to Ted’s material in his own set and the crowd loved it. After Ted, Craig introduced himself and came out on stage running like he did at the beginning of Does This Need to Be Said. We all leapt to our feet as Craig talked about the weirdness of the façades at the Winstar Casino. He looked great in a black shirt with the sleeves rolled up, khakis and his favorite black boots that he wore for the Paris shows. He added some more details to some bits and left out some others but the funniest part of the show was his reaction to some dude in the crowd who whistled at a quiet moment. Somehow, in typical Craig fashion, that whistle turned into Craig wondering if he could teach his penis to whistle, and he made himself laugh along with all of us. He kept going back to it and giggling every time. He was having so much fun with it that at one point, he really cracked up and said to us, “You fuckers are funny! You’re making me laugh!” We were all having such a fun time, including Craig, that after he told his show-ending joke, he seemed to want to hang around on stage and talk a little more. With our encouragement, he stayed on stage for a bit longer but finally said his goodbyes. But he couldn’t find the break in the curtain where he was supposed to exit. He walked all over the stage, laughing at himself, until he turned to us and said, “I can’t seem to get off” and yes, he then slinked to the front of the stage as he said, “Can someone help me to get off?” followed by a cheeky grin and a wave and “goodnight everybody!” [/stextbox] And here are the pictures she captured during the show: [ssg-superb-slideshow=8=600=700=7000=750=0=NO] All photos by: @colleen_byrne Hover your mouse over any photo to pause the slideshow. Double Win for Doctor Who The eleventh Doctor Who Matt Smith and the Doctor’s companion Karen Gillan picked up honors at Britain’s National Television Awards.
Volcano HQ? The RSA’s @HoboRobot spotted a video of a house atop a volcano in California that is up for sale. We’re not sure if the volcano is hollowed out but it has the look of a Bond villain-style hideout. Our apologies for the built-in commercial. Video courtesy: CNN This Week’s Guests
