Letterman Fallout
Replacement Row 300x250David Letterman‘s announcement that he’ll be retiring as host of The Late Show in 2015 is still reverberating around the country, and the interwebs are buzzing about a myriad of possible futures for the show. Along with early names mentioned for possible replacements such as Jimmy Kimmel, Chelsea Handler, Jon Stewart and Conan O’Brien, we’ve seen many more names circulating through the rumor mill, including Jay Leno, Louis CK, Amy Poehler, Chris Hardwick, Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Ellen Degeneres and John Oliver. Some articles are simply throwing names around, others claim that people at CBS have been talking with would-be replacements.

Our take is this: CBS probably won’t say anything for a while. If they’ve learned anything from NBC’s late-night host succession plan failures, they won’t make any announcements too early and give critics months to chip away at their choice and build up unreasonable expectations. Will they choose a woman? Will they choose someone with social media street cred? Will they follow the trend of political satire, or take the format in a new direction? Everybody has a “list,” but the only list that will count is on the desk of network president Les Moonves as CBS. In the meantime, we’ll enjoy watching Dave for another year.

Canada Tour Wraps UpCF in Toronto
Craig Ferguson wrapped up his second major tour of Canada in the past year, with stops in Toronto and Montreal last weekend. The newspaper in Ottawa reviewed his show there, and the paper in Toronto had a nice article ahead of his visit there. Thanks to @7thEvan and for a great photo from the Toronto show.
