The Los Angeles Times recently featured a detailed article about Late Late Show Executive Producer Peter Lassally, who talked about his long history in late-night television, including a wonderful moment when Craig Ferguson presented him with an unexpected gift. Thanks to the RSA’s @MissGraoully and others for bringing it to our attention.
High Praise
Comedian and impressionist Frank Caliendo, known for his spot-on send-ups of football commentator John Madden, former President George W. Bush and many more, recently tweeted some words of support to the voice of Craig’s robot skeleton sidekick Geoff Peterson, actor Josh Robert Thompson:
This fella – @joshrthompson does some killer impressions and character stuff. Check him out. #FoundOutAboutHimFromALegoGame
Josh responded:
@FrankCaliendo wow! Thanks, Frank. That means a LOT coming from you. #legend
Recognition from a peer is a wonderful thing, and in this instance, well-deserved.
Actor and comedian Norm Macdonald talks about Craig among the other late-night hosts in his new podcast (vodcast). His comments about Craig and about Geoff Peterson come a little bit past the 9 minute mark as part of a conversation about the personalities of late-night comedy and possible replacements for David Letterman. Thanks to the RSA’s Dylan for the link!
Arthur’s Show
It appears French comedian Jacques “Arthur” Essebag‘s talk show, which looks remarkably like the Late Late Show, will be returning to French television soon. Here is the article in French from Public.fr, and Google’s clunky translation. Thanks to
Craig on Keith
Four years ago, Craig appeared on Keith Olbermann‘s show on MSNBC, talking about President Barack Obama‘s appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. It was the first time a sitting president appeared on a late-night show.
