With Neeps and Tatties, Please
Craig Ferguson is returning to the United States this week after spending some time in his native Scotland. Before returning, he tweeted:
I’ve been in Scotland all summer. Coming back the the US next week. You guys need haggis or @irnbru or anything?
He quickly received some replies, from three writers, including Irvine Welsh:
@CraigyFerg @irnbru If you can smuggle some haggis through customs I’d be appreciative. Still on FDA banned list. (Haggis, not me.)
Lawrence Block:
We need: (1) haggis (2) shortbread (3) a reason to go on. #twooutofthreesokay
And Sloane Crosley:
@CraigyFerg deep fried Mars bar, please.
He even got a tweet back from the makers of Irn Bru, Scotland’s most popular soft drink:
We’re not saying @CraigyFerg‘s smuggling BRU across the border, but… #TheBRUMustgetThru
Forward Laughs
Canadian comedian Mark Forward has opened for Craig many times in the past couple of years. He’s playing at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and was recently interviewed by writer/photographer Scott McLean in his blog. Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb for spotting it. Note: The page opens slowly in some browsers.
Carpool Karaoke Series
Apple Music has purchased rights to an unscripted TV series based on the “Carpool Karaoke” segment of CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, reports the trade publication Variety. Corden will executive produce, but not star in, the series. A host has not been announced, but production of the weekly series is expected to begin soon.
