Making Us Laugh
Canada’s Globe and Mail newspaper had the most complete interview of Craig Ferguson this week, as he accepted the Sir Peter Ustinov Comedy Award at the Banff World Media Festival. He talks about the evolution of the Late Late Show and his relationship with the audience. We’ve been keeping our eyes open for a complete video of Craig’s appearance at Banff, but so far, it has not appeared. A few brief clips are floating around YouTube. We’re also watching for Canada’s Entertainment Tonight interview with Craig. They have posted a Canadian version but it is not visible outside of Canada. If an internationally-viewable version becomes available, we’ll include it here.
Starring Jimmy Fallon
The website enstars.com reports that when the new version of NBC’s Tonight Show debuts in early 2014, it will be titled The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The show’s most recent two hosts, Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien used the tag “with” rather than “starring,” which was last used when Johnny Carson held the job.
Lenny the Wonder Dog
Back in 2005, Craig appeared in a film called Lenny the Wonder Dog, which did not earn him an Oscar but did have some great laughs. He gets to sing, and has a great dance number. Watch for a cameo by his Drew Carey Show castmate Kathy Kinney and be sure to stick around for the bloopers at the end.
