The Nerdist is Fit to Print

The @Nerdist Chris Hardwick was recently profiled in the New York Times. Thanks to the RSA’s Gus for the link to that story, as well as an article in the San Diego Union-Tribune about frequent LLS guest, country singer Toby Keith.

Canberra Tweets
Australia’s ABC Radio reports on a plan to invite Australians to enjoy a free weekend in the capital city of Canberra, on the condition that they use social media to talk about their experiences. What could go wrong?

Skeletons Rising

While we were away, several members of the RSA sent us an article from Discovery.com talking about a skeleton army rising from a bog in Denmark. Perhaps it’s beginning!

Geoff’s Beginnings
Craig’s robot skeleton sidekick Geoff Peterson was designed by the Mythbusters‘ own robotics expert Grant Imahara. Geoff has become pretty sophisticated with wireless controls and the voice talents of Josh Robert Thompson. But in the early days, Geoff’s voice was provided by Craig, with a few stock phrases. Grant demonstrates in this video clip from 2010:

Warp Speed, Mr. Imahara

Speaking of Grant Imahara, he is getting the chance to play the role of Ensign Sulu in a new internet-based re-imagining of the original Star Trek series. The online newspaper rafu.com, which covers Japanese news in the Los Angeles area, explains.

Tonight’s Guests
Wednesday on the Late Late Show, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan returns to the show, Craig chats with actress Fiona Gubelmann and we’ll see comedian Nick Griffin.  On Thursday, Craig welcomes back actress Lisa Kudrow and a last-minute addition, comedian Marc Maron.
