Seeing Shows in Person
CBS Television City slThe RSA’s @pinkbirdie48840 had a chance to travel to Los Angeles recently to see Craig Ferguson at some tapings of The Late Late Show at CBS Television City. She sent us her story, which includes fun at the shows and meeting some fellow hobos along the way:

I flew out to LA last week to attend some #TLLS tapings:

I left Detroit late on Sunday, arriving at LAX around 9:30 pm. I ended up waiting nearly an hour for my shuttle to my hotel. LA traffic never ceases to amaze me. 10:30 pm on a Sunday night and the 405 looks like a weekday morning rush hour! I again stayed at the “Farmer’s Daughter”, a little boutique hotel across Fairfax from the CBS studio. Since all I was in town to do, was see Craig, no rental car was needed, and the Farmer’s Market and The Grove was right down the street for meals and/or shopping. No celebrity sightings outside of the studio this time around, but I didn’t mind, as all I wanted was to see Craig and Josh do their thing.

Prior to arriving, I had applied for tickets to all four days of tapings, but was granted only 1 priority ticket for Monday, and was placed on the waitlist for the other 3 days. I was bummed, but I had faith that 1Iota would come through for me! I got bad news on Monday in the form of an email from 1Iota, telling me that they were not able to grant my ticket request for Tuesday, but upon arriving for the show on Monday, I was happy to hear that William Shatner had been rescheduled and I would be seeing him! (He is why I really wanted to be there for Tuesday’s show!).

To make a very long story short….Even after getting emails from 1Iota telling me I wouldn’t be getting a ticket for Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, I ended up getting emails the day of or the night before, telling me that I had a “General admission” ticket! I came to town expecting to see only one show, and I ended up seeing all 4 that I originally requested!

The shows were all fantastic (of course!) and it was great to see Craig and hear everything without the flags and “toosiefruitsie”! Boy, can he and Josh cuss up a storm! And they are so naughty too! The innuendos were flying fast and furious and thanks to Bob, the warm up comedian (not a real comedian), Craig had some great comebacks regarding the “happy trail on fire” and the “sex froth”!

Besides seeing Craig and Josh, the best thing about this trip was meeting some awesome people that previously, I had only chatted with online (twitter or facebook) before, and one of them, I hadn’t chatted with previously, but we ended up next to each other in line and got to chatting and ended up having a great time together!

My first morning there, I had breakfast with @bgrhubarb as she was leaving LA that afternoon. We discovered we had many likes and dislikes in common and shared many laughs!

Later that day, while I waited in line, I met @best_coolcat and Lisa (I met her via facebook). On Tuesday, after the show, the 3 of us went to the Cheesecake Factory at The Grove for dinner and had a lot of laughs and had to remind ourselves to behave, and not cuss like Sid the bunny, because there was a child behind us.

On Thursday, I met @tammyy6 while standing in line, and we ended up sitting next to each other for the taping. After the show, we met up with @best_coolcat and had a quick dinner across the street at Tart, before I had to catch my shuttle to LAX for my red eye flight back to Detroit.

I’d say my week was darn near perfect. The only thing that could have made it better was some cooler temps. This northern girl had a tough time waiting outside in the heat. Monday – Wednesday it was in the low to mid 90’s and Thursday was much better in the upper 70’s with some clouds.

Needless to say, I had a wonderful time and am now regretting the cussing I did regarding the California heat and sun. We got snow here in Michigan the day I got back. 🙁

Geoff on HalloweenGeoff Illustration
As you might expect, Halloween was an excellent holiday for Geoff Peterson. Josh Robert Thompson retweeted a great drawing from fan @edplacencia, and the RSA’s @bgrhubarb found a pair of photos here and here, of a fan in Iowa who built an excellent costume.

Challenging Game
Celebrity Name Game Executive Producer David Arquette explains what makes the game challenging.
