We Are From I-Oh-Way
After a fun night in Omaha on Wednesday evening, Craig Ferguson moves his Live Comedy Tour a few miles east along Interstate 80 on Thursday, to perform at the Hoyt Sherman Theater in Des Moines, Iowa. On Tuesday night, St. Louis enjoyed Craig’s show, as reported in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. And on Wednesday, the Omaha World-Herald had a short Q & A with Craig.
Burns NightCraig was kind enough to remind us that January 25th is the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns. On the way to Omaha, he thought of a way to have fun with his opening act and road manager:
Happy birthday Rab. // Burns’ Day. St Louis – Omaha. 7hr bus ride I’ll fill by reciting old Scots poems to @tedalexandro & @philcottone . They seem excited. // The Burns’ poem I shall recite today is entitled “Nine Inch Will Please A Lady”. #realpoem. #notajoke#true
The RSA’s General @Malinky2Stoatir found the poem in question and posted a link. And on the bus Wednesday, comedian Ted Alexandro tweeted about Craig’s recitations:
The Inferno is on to Omaha. 7 hr drive ahead. @craigyferg is going on about “O my Love’s like a red, red rose That’s newly sprung in June”
A Red Red Rose is one of Burns’ most famous poems. Just before Wednesday night’s show, Craig retweeted @badastronomer and added some commentary:
“@BadAstronomer: Somehow, tweeting “PUEBLO I AM IN YOU” sounds dirty.â€Not as dirty as “Omaha, I’ll be in your Orpheum tonight!”. #whichIwill
