CBS Announces Fall Schedule
CBS is adding six new shows to its prime-time lineup this fall, reports the Los Angeles Times. The network has maintained its position as the most-watched channel for more than a decade, and made the fewest changes overall for the new season compared to its rivals. Among the new offerings will be a comedy called The Crazy Ones, starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Even David Letterman made a rare appearance at the CBS upfront presentation to advertisers and the media, reports Deadline.com.
Meyers’ First Guest As reported by Yahoo News, soon-to-be host of NBC’s Late Night Seth Meyers has selected actress Amy Poehler to be his first guest when his version of the show launches in February of 2014.
Late-Night Diversity
Meanwhile, a recent article on Salon.com expresses disappointment that late-night talk shows continue to be dominated by white males on camera and in the writers rooms, and that NBC missed an opportunity to diversify the airwaves when it chose Meyers to host Late Night.
