Brave Premiere
The Disney/Pixar animated feature film Brave, featuring the voice of Craig Ferguson as Lord MacIntosh, opens across the United States and Canada on Friday, June 22nd.   The world premiere will be on Monday, June 18th with a red carpet event at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, as a featured event at the Los Angeles Film Festival.  While the Monday premiere is a sold-out event for VIPs, those living in the Los Angeles area can still get an early look at the movie on Tuesday at Regal Cinemas LA as part of the festival.  Tickets are still available for the Tuesday screening.

Alex Salmond in America

Both the BBC and Scotland’s STV are reporting that Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond will be visiting the United States in June, to attend the world premiere of Brave at the LA Film Festival, as well as visit with political and business leaders to promote closer ties with Scotland.  Thanks to the RSA’s @NancyInTampa for the heads up!

Alexander Apology
Actor Jason Alexander‘s recent appearance on the Late Late Show drew some criticism for his comments during a discussion about the game of cricket.  He tweeted an apology on Sunday.

Richard Dawson
Actor and game show host Richard Dawson has died at the age of 79.  Best known for his portrayal of the sticky-fingered Corporal Newkirk on Hogan’s Heroes and his stints as host of Family Feud, Dawson was an Emmy-winning familiar face on TV from the mid-60s to the mid-80s.  His chance to host Feud was credited to his popularity as a panelist on the game show Match Game, where he was the most oft-chosen celebrity by players as a partner for the game’s final round. Time Magazine was among the many outlets reporting the news. Here is an example of Dawson’s versatility, as he offers impressions in a talent show from Hogan’s Heroes.
