New Brave Images
With the release of the new Disney/Pixar animated feature film Brave less than a year away, more details are slowly coming out.  On Monday, we got a look at the first new images to go public in several months.  First, we see the three noblemen who are close associates of the King.  From left to right, they are Lord MacGuffin (voiced by Kevin McKidd), Lord Dingwall (voiced by Robbie Coltrane) and Lord Macintosh (voiced by none other than Craig Ferguson).

Next is a look at the royal couple, Queen Elinor (voiced by Emma Thompson) and King Fergus (voiced by Billy Connolly), the strict parents of the film’s lead character.  Is it just us or does “King Fergus” have a nice ring to it?

And finally, a new look at the heroine of the picture, the feisty Princess Merida, (voiced by Kelly MacDonald).  We have been showing you new stills from the film as they are released, including the first close-up of Lord MacIntosh back in June.   Our friends at HeyUGuys.co.uk were, as always, among the first to get their hands on the new pictures.  The film debuts June 21st, 2012 in Australia, June 22nd in the US and in August in the UK.  Our thanks to the RSA’s @MissGaroully, @chromajoy and others for tweeting us when they first spotted the new photos.  We always appreciate a heads up!

New Brave Trailer Coming Soon

Meanwhile, the San Jose Mercury News reports that a new, longer Brave trailer is expected to be released on Tuesday.  The first trailer, which we featured here on the website in June, runs approximately one minute and was primarily intended to set the story’s dark mood.  The new trailer is said to be longer and more in-depth with more details about the story that will unfold in the film.  When it becomes available, we’ll be sure to link you to it.

CBS Announces Mid-Season Scheduloe
The good news for CBS?  It is maintaining its position as the most-watched television network in the country.   The bad news?  The price of that success means there is no room for the Craig Ferguson-hosted game show Celebrity Name Game in the winter schedule.  As we reported here in July, Celebrity Name Game is produced by Courtney Cox and David Arquette and features contestants guessing celebrity names based on clues.  Two pilot episodes were filmed this summer featuring Craig as the host, to give CBS a chance to see how it looked.   But on Monday, the network announced its mid-season schedule with only two changes:  A Rob Schneider half-hour comedy called ¡Rob! will air Thursday’s at 8:30pm ET/PT in place of Rules of Engagement but only through the early spring, when Rules will return.  And Undercover Boss will be back on Sundays at 8pm ET/PT to fill the gap between seasons of The Amazing Race, which will also come back later in the spring.  As Zap2It.com and others reported, CBS is also keeping an hour-long cop drama called 2-2 in its pocket in case one of its hour-long shows falls on hard times and needs replacing, which at this point seems unlikely.   Monday’s announcement that the winter schedule does not include the game show doesn’t mean it’s gone for good but we probably won’t see it any time soon.

Puppets Galore
DigitalSpy.com picked up on Craig’s comments in this month’s Playboy magazine about how he started using puppets on the Late Late Show.

Brow Lifts and Feathers

Tonight’s Guests
Monday on the Late Late Show, Craig welcomes actress Poppy Montgomery and author/producer/actor/comedian Charlie Higson, while Geoff Peterson’s voice is provided by actress Lauren Graham.  Tuesday, we’ll get an extra does of Scottish charm when actor Ewan McGregor returns, along with comedian Jeff Ceasario and comedienne Paula Poundstone providing Geoff’s voice.
