St. Baldrick’s Event
The RSA’s @bluepixiepict reports that the St. Baldrick’s fundraising event she organized in Kingman, Arizona earlier this month raised an amazing $3,840 with more pledges still coming in. The event included the local fire department’s bagpipe band and more entertainment, as volunteers had their heads shaved to raise money for children’s cancer research. The first volunteer named Grace (pictured at right) stepped up, had her head shaved and donated her hair to Locks of Love. Pixie thanks the RSA members who donated and offered their support, and says she’s already planning next year’s event!
Handler’s New Gig
Chelsea Handler has signed a deal with Netflix to launch the service’s first-ever late night talk show. As The Los Angeles Times reports, the comedienne will have a comedy special in October of this year and four more in 2015 on Netflix, before debuting the talk show in 2016. There’s no work yet on if the show will be offered daily, but is expected to include individual episodes featuring current topics and interviews, rather than being offered in binge-style groups of shows. Her talk show on E! wraps up later this summer.
Teacher’s Lounge
Comedian Ted Alexandro, who has performed on the road with Craig, is launching his new project Teacher’s Lounge, featuring some of his fellow comedians in a school setting. Here is the show’s new trailer:
