Craig Tweets
Craig responded to a pair of tweets Friday. One came from a confused fan:

“: you are hilarious in !. Great film” Thanks. I loved it too.

The other came from British comedian and radio host Danny Baker, who sent out a photo of Craig taken in 1994, on the set of a short-lived BBC game show called Bygones.  Baker hosted. Rick Wakeman, an English musician best know as the keyboardist for the band Yes, was captain of one three-person team and Craig was captain of the other.

The game centered around nostalgia, hence the “Bygones” name. Over the course of four rounds, the teams would make guesses about old products, film clips, songs and celebrities.  The reason the head of 1940?s bandleader Ted Heath is in the photo is because in one round of the game, the teams were shown waxwork heads of celebrities from the past and earned points if they guessed their identity correctly. The game show ran for just a single series of five episodes in the spring of 1994.

Craig’s reaction centered on his haircut in the photo:

“: You were also hilarious on Bygones with ” Oh Lordy! Why Danny?

Our thanks to to UKGameShows.com for details about the show.

He talks about the evolution of the Late Late Show and his relationship with the audience. We’ve been keeping our eyes open for a complete video of Craig’s appearance at Banff, but so far, it has not appeared. A few brief clips are floating around YouTube. The website enstars.com reports that when the new version of NBC’s Tonight Show debuts in early 2014, it will be titled The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The show’s most recent two hosts, Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien used the tag “with” rather than “starring,” which was last used when Johnny Carson held the job.

Lenny the Wonder Dog
Back in 2005, Craig appeared in a film called Lenny the Wonder Dog, which did not earn him an Oscar but did have some great laughs. He gets to sing, and has a great dance number. Watch for a cameo by his Drew Carey Show castmate Kathy Kinney and be sure to stick around for the bloopers at the end.
