Back in Craig Ferguson‘s first year on the Late Late Show, the RSA’s @JoaniePhotos would blog about what happened on the show. Take a look at her entry for October 31st, 2005 for a fun LLS flashback.

We hope our Canadian readers had a fun Canada Day and our American readers enjoyed Independence Day. New episodes of the Late Late Show are back on Monday, July 8th. While we were away, the RSA’s @BowTies_Bananas sent Josh Robert Thompson her latest drawing, which he happily retweeted:
New Neville
Also during the past week, a new Neville appeared on the scene. Novelist Stuart Neville welcomed a new baby:

Craig and the Pixel Police
The “warming glow” TV section of Uproxx.com has a great article about Craig’s recent monologue tangent; drawing “allegedly” suggestive shapes on cue cards and daring the censors to pixelate them. The writer not only enjoys how Craig pushes the envelope, but explains why the Late Late Show host is under-appreciated.
Craig in Print
Scottish Craig fan @Sheriffbrody uncovered an June 2000 article from Empire Magazine featuring Craig and tweeted him a photo of it. Our thanks to the RSA’s @normaapril for spotting it in the Twitter stream! Click on the link or the image to see it full size.

Denver Shows Although the website at Comedy Works in Denver is still listing the August 30th through September 1st guest as a “top secret act,” we know that out fearless leader Craig Ferguson will be there. And as the RSA’s @bgrhubarb spotted, Craig is tentatively scheduled for two shows each night, for a total of six performances. The website indicates that tickets will be sold on a “members only” basis, which means you have to sign up for the club’s mailing list to become a member. If you’re thinking about going, be sure to sign up soon because tickets are limited.
Tough Day at the Office
As the Huffington Post reports, Franklin and Bash star Breckin Meyer got to do a nude scene with Heather Locklear, but as he told Craig on Tuesday night’s show, it wasn’t as much fun as you might think.

Why We Need Craig The RSA’s Jo has written a great blog post on her website, making the case that Craig should be on television in the UK, not just the U.S., Canada and Australia. We couldn’t agree more. She’ll have to lobby the BBC or ITV to make it happen!
Craig Tweets
Perhaps Jo’s article touched off a flurry of tweets from Craig on Monday evening, where he responded to calls from fans to “explain himself,” which he did masterfully:
“@CraigGilliver: @CraigyFerg in Australia The Late, Late Show is on BEFORE The Late Show – Explain yourself.†Coriolis Effect.
“@mazziemo: @CraigyFerg your show is not on in Scottlanda and your Scottish! Ecplain yourself!†Racism
“@_WolfSpirit: @CraigyFerg If youre a time lord what’s your time lord name? (ie Doctor,Master, Rani ext)†Sparkles.
“@Big_M: @CraigyFerg In Mexico we do not watch your show in spanish, explain yourself señor†Si. Me gusto la playa
“@Megan_08: @CraigyFerg I’m a lesbian but I have a huge crush on you. EXPLAIN YOURSELF†you lack commitment.
“@mdjaxon: @CraigyFerg Craig, you claim to be anti establishment, but respond to all demands to “explain yourself”…EXPLAIN YOURSELF!†No.
That last one really says it all. That’s how you can have fun on Twitter!
Cunningham’s New Novel
Craig’s mother-in-law Linda Cunningham is a romance novelist, and the new cover for her upcoming novel has just been revealed. Keeping the Peace will be the third installment of her “Small Town Girl” series. Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb for the link!

Rosie’s Fighting Side
The sports website badlefthook.com was impressed by Rosie Perez‘ recent appearance on the Late Late Show, where she talked about being a boxing fan and chided Craig for not watching more fights.
Craig Getting Hot in Cleveland
Craig will appear in the season finale of the TV Land sitcom Hot in Cleveland with Betty White. The episode air date has not been officially announced but is expected in July 24th. Thanks to the alert RSA’s @bgrhubarb and @nancyvrom, we can get a brief glimpse of Craig in this promo for the show:
