Josh on SoundCloudJosh Project
Josh Robert Thompson does much more than provide the voice of Geoff Peterson on The Late Late Show. He stars in the upcoming independent film Nowhere Girl, records his voice for films, animated shows and commercials, and has been working on a new project featuring some of his characters. He has been tweeting photos along the way:

Production begins on a very special project. More soon…

Meanwhile, along with its home on his new website JoshRThompson.com, Josh’s Pokin’ Around Podcast is available on the audio-sharing website SoundCloud.com and iTunes. And AVClub.com has nice things to say about the podcast when you scroll down the page a couple of stories.

Sagal Says Nice ThingsPeter Sagal
The host of public radio’s humorous current events quiz show Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, Peter Sagal, was recently interviewed in the Boston Globe and says nice things about Craig’s autobiography.

Northern Lights
Craig’s friend, LLS guest and noted astronomer Phil Plait recently wrote on the website Slate.com about unusual phenomenon of noctilucent clouds, and included some spectacular time-lapse video recorded in northern Scotland by cinematographer Maciej Winiarczyk, featuring not only the clouds, but the brightly-colored northern lights.

Craig in DragPeter and Craig in Concert
We’ve seen Craig Ferguson dress up as a woman from time to time, portraying Jessica Fletcher in a Murder She Wrote sketch, among others. But in a photo from his punk rock days, he wears a costume which puts the rest to shame. In an article in the UK’s Mirror newspaper, a photo was unearthed featuring Craig and his former bandmate Peter Capaldi performing in full Louis XIV garb. Craig playing the accordion would have been a special treat. The RSA’s Ruth and @gittethuesen were among the first of many to draw our attention to the story.

That Scottish Sound
Peter Capaldi
Meanwhile, Capaldi will “probably” use his Scottish accent as the new doctor in Doctor Who, reports showrunner Steven Moffat in an article on HuffingtonPost.com.

Gaiman Hopes to Write New Who05 Neil Gaiman
Author Neil Gaiman, a one-time guest on the Late Late Show, is hoping to write a third script for Doctor Who, now that Peter Capaldi has been tapped to become the twelfth doctor. Gaiman has written two scripts for the series in its recent revival, and wants to write for the actor, reports the website drwho-online.co.uk.

On the Record
In a recent article in the newspaper Herald Scotland, a recording of Capaldi and Ferguson’s 80s punk band Dreamboys was included. Enjoy “Bela Lugosi’s Birthday.”

Craig TweetsCraig and Betty
During the extended summer break in August, Craig Ferguson was tweeting in his spare moments. He tweeted a photo with Betty White on the set of Hot in Cleveland:

Hot tramp I love you so.

Craig at Grand CentralHe stumbled across a wedding at Grand Central Station in New York City:

Just got photo bombed by these jerks in Grand Central.

Gaffigan AvHe commented on a tweet from comedian Jim Gaffigan:

“: “”Fashion is your kryptonite!” – my 9 year old daughter to me.” She’s right. You’re a notorious dandy.

Canadian SpreadHe tweeted about some rum-laced blueberry spread in Canada, immediately correcting his geography a moment later:

In Northwestern Canada they know how to have a good time. / Gar! I meant Northeastern Canada

Craig at DentistBefore heading to Denver to appear on stage, Craig made a stop at his dentist:

@ dentist having ancient Scottish bridgework repaired. I have to say I’m enjoying it more than the VMA’S

He then became philosophical in a pair of tweets:

I have found that playing scrabble on my phone &/or tweeting is an excellent replacement for doing anything useful &/or productive. #&/or / I’d like to dedicate my #&/or hashtag to S. Kierkegaard, the vivacious pretty boy of Danish Christian existentialists. /or

Palisades_Pizza_SignFinally, a pizza parlor in California uses a tweeted word of the day to offer its customers a discount on their order. On August 26th, they used the word “Dreamboys” in honor of one of Craig’s early bands. Craig saw the tweet and replied:

“: “Celebrity of the Day” for 8/26 is uson . Say “Dreamboys”, & get a 2nd pizza FREE” Finally kudos.

In the North AtlanticNaidus in Iceland
On his vacation in August, LLS Producer Michael Naidus spent part of his time touring Iceland. Perhaps hearing so many “Big Cash Prize” questions rubbed off on him:

Iceland is on the North Atlantic. It’s capital city is Reykjavik.

Craig on Youth
Back in 2010, Craig opened a show talking about how American society has come to venerate youth and beauty over age and experience. The piece recently resurfaced and drew some attention in August, including a tweet from Stephen Fry:

Just why I adore so much

Fry’s tweet pointed to an article by Upworthy.com. The segment also generated articles on ncronline.org and Forbes.com. Here is the original clip:
