New Show Open
The Late Late Show has a new show open. The tune is the same but a bit shorter, and the video has been updated with fresh scenes from around Los Angeles, including glimpses of Geoff Peterson and Secretariat out on the town.

Reading of Dragons
Cressida Cowell, author of the How To Train Your Dragon series of books, gave a long and detailed interview to the UK’s Independent newspaper about encouraging children to read books, no matter the subject or the intended age of its audience. She worries that schools emphasize testing rather inspiring young people to learn and expand their imaginations.

Fall Television

Josh Pokes Around
In the latest installment of his Pokin’ Around Podcast, Josh Robert Thompson talks with the writer/director of the upcoming film Nowhere Girl, Jed Rigney. During the conversation, Josh talks more about his newest project, which will take the form of a television pilot featuring some of his characters, including the Apostle BG and George Lucas. More pieces of the project will be appearing on Josh’s YouTube channel. Carson Miniseries Planned
NBC plans to launch a miniseries based on the life of Johnny Carson, late host of The Tonight Show. According to The Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Weekly, the series will be drawn from the soon-to-be-released book, “Carson the Magnificent: An Intimate Portrait,” by Bill Zehme, who will co-executive produce.

Lollipop Theater Network Drive
A charity Craig Ferguson has long supported, the Lollipop Theater Network, brings first-run films and actors to visit hospitalized children. The group is presently embarked on a fundraising drive. If you’d like to contribute, you can visit its page on crowdrise.com.

Blue Cards Ripped
When did Craig begin his ritual of tearing up the blue card containing prepared questions for his guests? Previously, he had ignored or pushed the card to the side, but on January 11th, 2008, the ripping began.
