Craig Ferguson took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, offering what he called the “Things I Like Awards.” In a series of four tweets, he named:

His pick for favorite talk show host, the UK’s Graham Norton, quickly responded, inviting Craig to appear on his show:

Northern Lights
Craig Ferguson retweeted a link to an article written for Slate.com by his astronomer pal Phil Plait this week, highlighting an amazing display of the northern lights as seen from the window of an airplane.

The video is a time-lapse compressed to just 52 seconds and is worth a watch, as are the still photos photographer Paul Williams posted on his Flickr account, including one that caught an image of a meteor.

Skeletons Everywhere
One of the great things about the robot skeleton army is how robot skeletons can show up just about anywhere. The RSA’s @HoboRobot spotted a familiar face while doing some holiday shopping:

In the RSA’s @iknowjojo‘s latest installment of her web comic Craigy Who and Mr. Timey Pants, featuring Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who and Craig Ferguson as his companion, we see Geoff Peterson, Josh Robert Thompson and Secretariat make cameo appearances. Vote for Craig
It’s time once again for the endless stream of end-of-year “best of” polls on the interwebs. Last month, Craig Ferguson handily won the AdWeek “Hottest Late Night Host” category thanks to lots of votes from his robot skeleton army. Now, TV.com is launching its Best of 2013 poll, including the category of Funniest Late-Night Host. Craig is currently running second behind Stephen Colbert. If the RSA votes in force over the next few weeks, Craig could come out on top, so vote early and vote often.

Birthday Boys

Josh Robert Thompson appeared on the Independent Film Channel’s sketch comedy show The Birthday Boys on Friday. The show will be re-run several times this week on IFC, or can be seen online on IFC’s website if you are a cable/online subscriber.

Craig ‘Hot in Cleveland’

Craig appeared in the TVLand sitcom Hot In Cleveland with Betty White and Company at the end of the show’s fourth season and is scheduled to return for the show’s fifth season in 2014. In case you missed season four, it is now available on DVD.

Betty White’s appearance on The Late Late Show this week drew some media attention from the Huffington Post and Zap2It.com.

Craig was listening to the radio on his way to work one day, when a funny song inspired him to try musical openings for the show.

Grammy Nomination

Craig Ferguson has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Comedy Album category his comedy special I’m Here To Help. He’s up against four other comedians in the category. Here are the five nominees:

When he got the news late Friday night, Craig tweeted:

Bob Saget quickly tweeted to Craig:

Me too. Will you listen to mine if I listen to yours? ????

And Craig responded:

@bobsaget Never. We are now deadly enemies. Although I’m still on for lunch on Tuesday. Xxx

The Grammy Awards ceremony will be held Sunday, January 26, 2014 and can be seen live on CBS. Good luck, Craig!

Not the First Time

This isn’t Craig’s first Grammy nomination. He was nominated in 2010, also for Best Spoken Word Album, for his autobiography American on Purpose. The award eventually went to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents Earth.

Back in 2011 after the Grammy ceremony was over, Craig tweeted:

Craig Improvs for Fun
As Craig Ferguson mentioned on The Late Late Show on Wednesday night, he spent some time last weekend performing improv comedy with the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles. He was joined by actor/comedian Ben Schwartz and others in the surprise visit. Craig has been known to pop up for a few minutes of stand up at clubs in the LA area, but as far as we’ve heard, this was his first time on stage with UCB. If our LA-area roboskellies hear of Craig making appearances anywhere in the area, please let us know!

Lynn on Stage
Meanwhile, Craig’s talented sister Lynn Ferguson will be appearing on stage in Los Angeles on Monday, as part of a night of British comedy at the Comedy Central Stage.
