Christmas Craig
Craig and the Gingerbread ManYou might remember earlier this fall when Craig Ferguson talked about shooting a CBS holiday promotional ad, featuring him destroying a gingerbread man and getting a black eye in the process. The promo has started to run, and CBS even posted an animation on its Tumblr page. It’s one of those four-second ads for the network that run between programs, so as the RSA’s @bgrhubarb says, “blink and you’ll miss it.” Watch for it during CBS daytime and prime time programming through the end of the year.

Occasional Late Late Show guest Kellie Pickler tweeted that she would appear on Wednesday night’s show to sing a seasonal song:

AdWeek Award
AdWeek TrophyYou voted for it and Craig Ferguson got it: The AdWeek Award for Hottest Late Night Host. Despite the folks at AdWeek picking another host as their choice, the voters put Craig on top. The magazine actually sent Craig a trophy, which he tweeted:

Ricky and Craig slAfter Craig Ferguson launched a string of tweets last he called, “Things I Like,” one of the people who made his list, comedian/actor/producer Ricky Gervais decided to do the same thing. He tweeted:

The online music magazine Vanyaland.com is getting a kick of of Craig and Josh Robert Thompson doing holiday-themed sketches in the personas of Florian and Ralf from the band Kraftwerk.

Book Discussion
Back in 2009 as he was promoting his autobiography American On Purpose, Craig hosted a discussion on C-Span about current books. He starts the event by talking about his own book, then talks with more authors on the panel.

Earlier this month, Craig Ferguson made a TV Guide list as well, featuring the greatest talk show moments. He came in at number 55, for his 2008 quest to gain his American citizenship.

Chicago radio personality Nick Digilio is a vocal fan of The Late Late Show, and last week, he had one of his emails to Craig read on the air. Craig and Josh even incorporated Nick as the drummer in the show’s unseen band. Dilgilio reacted on his radio show with audio clips.

As Craig mentioned on the show this week, the German band Kraftwork are still an active group and are touring. They will be in the United States in March, with a series of concerts in Los Angeles and Oakland.

We rarely post a complete episode of The Late Late Show, but this one from 2009 was special. It starts with a special appearance by Cabbage the dog, plus a pair of unusual “Elevator Confessions” skits, the entertaining Dwight Yoakam and an appearance by Mary McCormack that marked the debut of Craig’s famous snake cup.

The RSA’s @bgrhubarb spotted a blog post from the Netherlands about the show. Here is the original in Dutch and the somewhat clunky Google Translate version, which at least gives you a basic understanding of what’s being said.

A series of How To Train Your Dragon stories in audio book for, narrated by Scottish actor (and the tenth Doctor Who) David Tennant, are now on sale in the U.S., according to the Tennant News blog. Still to be released are How to Twist a Dragon’s Tale and the original How To Train Your Dragon book, also narrated by Tennant, which is due out in January in the U.S.
