LA Appearance RescheduledCraig Ferguson (201) sl
Craig Ferguson had been scheduled to appear at the City National Grove of Anaheim on July 24th, but that show has now been rescheduled for Saturday, October 25th. Any tickets for the original show will be honored on the new date or may be returned at the outlet where they were purchased. Some eagle-eyed Craig fans also noticed that The Comedy Works in Denver briefly offered tickets for Craig on in late July, but those shows were quickly canceled as well. It appears Craig’s scheduled tightened up this month but if any new dates are added, we’ll keep you posted on our Live Comedy Tour page.

Less Talk, More Action
Jimmy FallonA study of late-night talk shows reveals that Jimmy Fallon is talking to guests significantly less than his predecessors. The Hollywood Reporter says Fallon is chatting only 37 percent of the time, compared to 51 percent for David Letterman, Jay Leno or Johnny Carson. Craig comes in at 43 percent. Researchers say Fallon’s approach is pushing the show into more of a comedy-variety show than a talk show, and in an article on Salon.com, the author wonders if the move isn’t being driven by the hopes of having viral videos on YouTube, rather than substantive interviews.

In the North Atlantic
Iceland Map slMaybe the word finally got around. After many a quiz question on The Late Late Show that started out with the facts that Iceland is in the North Atlantic and its capital city is Reykjavik, Craig Ferguson is getting some props from the folks up north. In an interview with New York Magazine, former Reykjavik mayor Jon Gnarr has nice things to say about Craig, although when it comes to the job in question, we’re pretty sure Craig would not be interested.

Comic Role Models
02-Craig-Ferguson-34 slThe website HollywoodOutbreak.com did a short interview with Craig Ferguson recently, in which they asked him about American comedians who have been his role models. Craig named Johnny Carson, Robin Williams, Steve Martin and Bill Murray. The clip does not include UK comedians, but we’d guess he’d probably name Harry Enfield, Paul Whitehouse and the legendary Billy Connolly, all of whom he has praised in the past.

Capaldi AutographCapaldi Autograph for JoJo
The RSA’s @IKnowJoJo lives not far from where Doctor Who is filmed, and has been able to meet its star, Peter Capaldi, on several occasions. He has seen her talent in her Craigy Who and Mr. Timey Pants comic book. Recently, she was part of a group who were able to get autographs, and she shared the photo online. What a great inscription!

Name Game Tickets
CNG SetThe taping schedule for Celebrity Name Game hosted by Craig Ferguson is getting ramped up. Several shows will be recorded July 18, 19 and 20, with more planned for August 1-6. By taping four shows a day, the producers will be able to store up enough episodes to run through the early part of November. While The Late Late Show is on an extended break in August, more taping dates for the game show are on tap. If they keep up the pace for another ten days, they should have enough shows recorded to run through the end of 2014.

The show will feature contestants paired with celebrities, hoping to use clues to name as many celebrities as they can and win thousands of dollars. Among the celebrities scheduled to be on the show are Lisa Kudrow, Tom Arnold, Kevin McHale, Cheri Oteri, Billy Gardell, Ana Gasteyer, Mena Suvari, Angela Kinsey, Jane Leeves, Taraji P. Henson, Chris Kattan, David Artquette, Courtney Cox and more. Celebrity Name Game debuts September 22nd. Check your local listings for the station and time “in your region.”

Warmup Chat
Comedian Bob Oschack has been a writer with The Late Late Show for several years and currently serves as the warm up comedian in the studio (as it turns out, he really is a comedian). He’s also “Bob the Shark” and “Bob the Naked Guy” on the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week and Naked and Afraid after-shows. Recently, Bob sat down as a guest on former LLS warmup man Chunky B‘s podcast to talk about the show and more. Thanks to the RSA’s @Colleen_Byrne for the link!
