The first sneak preview of Craig’s robot skeleton sidekick didn’t disappoint! Grant Imahara gave us a look inside his mad scientist’s laboratory last night and the sidekick is taking shape:

A special guest will make a return appearance tonight, tweets Craig: Lovely Eddie Izzard making a secret surprise visit to the LLS tomorrow so don’t tell anyone. He will help me with the email & tweets

Craig also tweeted last night about technical problems with the CBS feed of the show to the eastern and central time zones: Tech glitch caused video fuck ups on show broadcast tonight. Hope the network fixes it in time for Harry Smiths live asscam. CBS cares.

Craig’s producer answered a question from loyal RSA member @Mrs_Nigel_Wick earlier today, that perhaps others have wondered. She had asked about whether it was better so send tweets or e-mails to be considered for Craig to read on the show. He responded by saying either one works: all tweets and emails end up in the same place for review … take your pick.

Caterina is back and she’s not fond of the name “Geoff Petersen”, so she’s offering some suggestions for the robot skeleton sidekick.

Geoff Petersen the robot skeleton sidekick will make his official debut on April 5th, according to our fearless leader: Geoff Petersen. The first fully functioning skeleton robot sidekick arrives with his creator @grantimahara on LLS Apr 5. Join or die.

Meanwhile, RSA members will be huddled around their screens tonight as Grant Imahara provides the first construction video of the robot skeleton sidekick on the Late Late Show! Craig tweeted last night: Robot sidekick under construction. @grantimahara’s video update on the show tomorrow. I am trembling with roboskelly anticipation

This morning, Grant Imahara added: Stay tuned tonite!!

Craig also tweeted this morning about his unusually tanned appearance on Monday night’s show. Several RSA members noticed he looked a little differently. Craig’s response: New make up person on show still finding her way. Don’t worry everyone I don’t have hepatitis c. Or scurvy. I hope anyway.

Thanks to the yeoman efforts of @The FunniestMan and many others, @CraigyFerg has reached the top of the faxo.com Mr. Twitter poll. It will take continued voting throughout the month of March to keep him on top. Likewise, @Malinky2Stoatir is now number one in the Best You Tube Channel poll and would need ongoing votes to remain in first place. It appears there is a different faxo poll for the “Hottest” Twitter, in which Craig is currently in fourth place.

A modest proposal: Not to diminish the fun but these polls could be endless. Craig now has a commanding lead in the MTV “Best Late Night Host” poll that began in January and in the about.com political humor blog’s “Favorite Late Night Comedian” poll from March 1st. Faxo.com is a gaming site with only a modest audience and there will be more polls, many of which will go unnoticed. Might it be a good idea to concentrate efforts on one poll (maybe the Mr. Twitter poll through the end of the month) and then take a break? There are many ways the Robot Skeleton Army can channel its energy in more visible and effective ways… perhaps some charitable endeavors? Please share your ideas on Twitter or in the comments.

Tickets for Craig Ferguson’s Carnegie Hall event in October are selling like hotcakes (or possibly pancakes at I-HOP?). On the tweety this morning, His Chattiness expressed his thanks: My Carnegie Hall show sold 1200 tix the 1st hr on sale. Woo hoo. Go Skelborgoreous army

As a wise man once said, “Book early to avoid disappointment!”

A check of the Late Late Show’s guests and ticketing schedule shows no shows being recorded during the week of March 15th. Fans will want to enjoy this week’s fresh new shows before a week of “Best of”/”Encore”/”Classic” (oh, all right “Old”) episodes until March 22nd.

What about Craig as a blonde? Ever since he mentioned back on March 1st, Perhaps, if enough people went on Twitter and said “Craig, we want your hair to be blonde, for a little while, just for a little while“, the RSA has been buzzing about what the Scotsman might look like. Now, a crafty fellow called @kidfromkansas has come up with some possible answers on his blog. Bonus: There’s also a computer-enhanced photo of Craig with a mustache (oh, the horror!). It’s worth a look!

It’s Oscar Sunday and the rain held off for those walking the red carpet. We’ve not seen a tweet from Mr. Ferguson or Mr. Imahara today.

CraigyFerg has reached the lofty heights of number three on the faxo.com Mr. Twitter poll, thanks to the tireless efforts of the Robot Skeleton Army, surpassing crooner John Barrowman. And the inestimable Malinky2Stoatir has reached number one in the Best You Tube Channel poll.

It will take continued voting throughout the month of March to keep them on top because fans of the others will keep voting. If both are on top at the end of the month, victory can be claimed because the numbers reset on April 1st.

RSA member @wavyferg had some web surfing time over the weekend and discovered robots with skeletons being featured in Popular Science magazine in 1962. Kudos to wavyferg for a fun find!

Since we haven’t seen a tweet from Craig today, here’s a quote to tide us over: “If it doesn’t work, at least it will be an interesting train wreck.”

The latest tweet from Grant Imahara notes that he has been working on Craig’s robot skeleton sidekick, soon to known as Geoff Petersen: That’s enough robot skeletons today. @CraigyFerg will be transmit status updates via the air-tube system that connects M5 and LLS.

Members of the RSA are continuing to wait for further word or dare we ask… pictures of the project. Grant has been known to work rather quickly on even complex projects but no release date has been announced. UPDATE: First video March 9, first “live” appearance on the show April 5.

In other news, Craig has rocketed from the mid 100’s to number five in the faxo.com Mr. Twitter competition for the month of March. There are some heavy hitters still ahead, so it will take plenty of votes to move him up. Reliable LLS YouTube poster Malinky2Stoatir has reached number two in faxo’s poll for best You Tube channel. More votes from the RSA could make a big difference.

Discussion continues about hashtags. #robotskeletonarmy and #properamountofsuction are both lots of fun but take up lots of characters. #RSA is being used by several different groups, so Fanny57 has suggested #CraigsRSA to avoid confusion and keep it short. We’ll see if that takes off.

It’s been a rainy day in Los Angeles, leaving much of the front of the Kodak Theater covered in plastic and leaving Craig Ferguson pondering the precipitation. He tweeted: Driving miserable rain in la. Rather lovely.

A handful of adjective-challenged Twitter followers wondered if Craig was doing the driving rather than the rain itself, prompting him to humorously tweet: I used the word “driving” to describe the rain in LA. I am not actually driving in the rain. Thanks concerned literalists.

Ah, Craig. Longing for the dreariness of Glasgow yet funny enough to have a comeback.

Spell-checking continues to plague the Hot Mess from Loch Ness. On Friday, Craig tweeted: Sorry I’ve been so quiet. Been reading a terrific book. Conspirata by Robert Harris. Kids, a book is like a long pepery tweet.

After a flurry of confused replies, he added: Ducking spellcheck. Never there when you need it. I misspelled “papery” but that’s ok cause it’s not a real word. Later he clarified: Oops. It seems “papery” is a real word. Well spotted twitzylstani spelling patrol. Sorry. Off to Bedfordshire with a papery tweet. Gnite x
