Craig’s lunch Monday with Nerdist host Chris Hardwick proved fruitful: Craig will soon appear as a Nerdist podcast guest, according to a tweet last night: Im taping podcast with @nerdist on June 10 at Largo in LA. Finally my big break in showbiz. God bless you Mr Hardwick * Tickets are available * to see the interview live, so if you live in the greater Los Angeles area or will be visiting on June 10th, you might want to be there. In their earlier banter on twitter, Craig offered Chris the chance to appear on the Late Late Show as well. We’ll let you know when that appearance is booked.

Craig tweeted today: Having lunch with @TimJRSullivan my old friend who wrote “Letters To Juliet”. He knows how to please a woman (allegedly) Sounds like a fun lunch. He followed that with a picture: http://tweetphoto.com/22278326 My friend @TimJRSullivan and I @ lunch at swanky Hollywood joint. Caviar & tater tots (our dancing names)

Remember, Craig’s birthday is Monday, May 17th. A movement is afoot among RSA members to trend #happybirthdaycraigy on Monday.

And speaking of new episodes: On tonight’s Late Late Show, actor Robert Downey Jr. and humorist Dave Barry are Craig’s guests.

Along with a nightly national television show, stand up comedy appearances, film roles, books and many other projects that keep him busy, you might not know that Craig Ferguson has also made appearances performing for American troops overseas, including Kosovo and the Persian Gulf. Through the USO, he and hundreds of other performers are able to bring a touch of home, a laugh and a well-deserved break for men and women in uniform. Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker tweeted last night to remind us that the USO relies on donations from many sources to provide entertainment and support for military personnel around the globe: Looking for the perfect birthday gift for Craig? How about a donation to the USO https://www.uso.org/donate/

Late Late Show Executive Producer Peter Lassally will accept the show’s Peabody Award at a luncheon in New York on Monday.

In a recent interview with the website Hollywood Outbreak, Craig talks about wanting to be an astronaut when he was younger but how his focus turned to entertainment. In the short audio clip, he mentions that he’s writing a new book. In previous interviews, he has mentioned his three book deal with HarperCollins but there’s no word on a release date.

Craig’s guests tonight on the Late Late Show are How I Met Your Mother actor Bryan Cranston and from The Office, actress Angela Kinsey… and maybe if we’re lucky, more “high hair”.

Grant Imahara, Mythbuster and robot skeleton sidekick genius, has been hearing about some of the stops and starts experienced by Geoff Petersen during the show in the past couple of weeks. His response last night: Today I confirmed that Geoff Peterson is not glitching. Apparently, he’s just doing that to annoy @CraigyFerg

Craig met with Nerdist guru Chris Hardwick on Monday and tweeted about it: Coffee with @nerdist this morning. What a charming young fellow he is. Also he paid. It felt like he was me & I was Regis. Nice jab at the notoriously cheap Regis, there Craig.

Later, he reminded us about his book: My autobiography(American on Purpose) comes out in paperback tomorrow. I still haven’t read it. Tomorrow being today: Tuesday, May 11. Also available for your Kindle-y thing. Many RSA members tell us they are particularly fond of the audiobook version, available on CD or iTunes because they get to hear the words in Craig’s own voice.

RSA member Banana_Happy tells us that some of the gang will be trying to trend #HappyBirthdayCraigy on Craig’s birthday – Monday, May 17. If enough people do it, you never know what might happen!

On tonight’s Late Late Show, Craig welcomes CSI:NY actress Melina Kanakaredes, Reno 911 actor/comedian Tom Lennon and music by Jónsi.

Craig Ferguson is among the headliners performing at a benefit for the Scleroderma Research Foundation on May 25th. Bob Saget will be Master of Ceremonies, and Craig will be joined by comics like Ray Romano, Sarah Silverman and more. Thanks to RSA member Katrina RSA for the heads up.

It would be impossible for Craig to respond to all of the requests he could potentially get from 193,149 followers… everything from birthday greetings to questions about his books. But earlier today, Craig did re-tweet a request for followers for a young woman fighting cancer: please RT please follow @justchristinah a lovely young girl fighting cancer who would love 2000 followers she is worth it

Late Late Show assistant producer Andrea Wayland is the one who requests twitter questions for Craig each day. Today she tweeted some tips to help get your question read on the air: If you have Q’s on what type of Tweets to send to Craig remember: be original, don’t try 2B funny, no gross, no repeats. Several RSA members have had their questions read. Good luck!

RSA member Colleen_Byrne updated us on the profits from sales of Robot Skeleton Outfitters today: February was the first month of the RSA. The profits from February went to the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders ($142 to each organization) for earthquake relief efforts in Haiti and Chile. Profits from March go to the Red Cross ($856) for flood relief in Nashville and surrounding areas. Profits from April (total pending) will go to the Lollipop Theater Network. And in May, the Red Cross will again benefit from your purchases. If you have questions, tweet @Colleen_Byrne Thanks to all those who support these great causes.

Tonight on the Late Late Show, Craig’s guests are actor Russell Crowe and music by Wilco. Craig’s birthday is one week away (May 17)!

Betty White drew Saturday Night Live‘s largest audience since November of 2008, as she hosted the program and performed in skits. RSA member ArtemusRex tells us that as she appeared on the show, “Betty White” was trending number one on Twitter worldwide. Go Betty and your dusty muffin!

Craig’s books continue to sell well as his fan base grows. His debut novel, Between the Bridge and the River, is still in the top 50 of Amazon sales in the self-help subcategory of humor books. And his autobiography, American on Purpose, remains in the top 10 of biographies of television personalities.

As Craig launched his stand up special last fall, he visited Regis and Kelly in New York. If you haven’t heard Regis’ pronunciation of Craig’s name, you’ll get a kick out of this:

On Thursday, actor Robert Downey Jr. and columnist Dave Barry will be on the show and on Friday, watch for actress Amanda Seyfried and author Isabel Allende.

Happy Mother’s Day!

The one and only Betty White hosts Saturday Night Live tonight. Because of her recent appearances on the Late Late Show, Craig Ferguson has been quoted several times about Betty, saying how funny she is.

Late Late Show staffers have been tweeting and re-tweeting the message about the need for flood relief: Help the Red Cross help Nashville by donating: text ‘REDCROSS’ to 90999 to instantly donate $10 or go to www.redcross.org Today, incidentally, is World Red Cross Day.

Craig was interviewed by David Letterman several months ago about his book American on Purpose. During the interview, Craig showed an amusing photo from the time he met former Vice President Dick Cheney. In case you missed it, enjoy:

Today is also Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Thanks to all those who keep the home fires burning.

All is quiet in the hollowed-out volcano. Craig is taking a well-deserved weekend off. He’ll be performing in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks but no world domination plans are on the schedule for now. We chose a photo from Prince Charles’ Rather Late Programme with a nod to Thursday’s elections in the UK which resulted in no party having a clear majority. It is unclear if a coalition can be built or whether a new election will be needed. We wish good luck to our UK friends as a new government is formed.

Thanks also to our readers who responded to the call for donations to the American Red Cross, to help those affected by the flooding in Tennessee, Kentucky and other nearby areas. It appears the worst may be over but it will take some time to restore property and get lives back to normal.

As you may have read here, Craig and the Late Late Show recently won the George Foster Peabody Award, one of the highest honors for excellence in broadcasting. The award was specifically for an interview he conducted with Archbishop Desmond Tutu but as Craig points out in the video clip below, the interview has changed the entire show for for the better.
A rebroadcast of the Desmond Tutu interview show is scheduled for Monday, May 17th.

Randy Kagan sent out a tweet early this morning with a stage door photo he took in Fort Wayne, Indiana last week, as Craig met with fans: I’m Pooperatzi. http://yfrog.com/6g8t2j

Updated: For a Friday night, Craig’s guests include writer/producer Seth MacFarlane (displaced from Wednesday’s show by Craig’s long conversation with Scarlett Johansson) comedian Matt Baetz and (ding dong!) emails with comedian Steven Wright. The effervescent Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco was originally listed as a guest tonight but no longer appears on the schedule.

Finally, today is National No Pants Day. If it’s on Wikipedia, it must be true. So enjoy yourself if you are so inclined.
