Craig & Co. are back in Los Angeles after a whirlwind tour of the northeast US, where they will return in October. Rebecca Tucker tweeted last night: thanks for the chocolate, Glenside PA. and now…homeward bound!

In an interview with MediaWeek, Betty White talks about her current run of popularity, mentions Craig and says she just did a pilot for a new version of the $100,000 Pyramid. Go Betty!

In a review of a new YouTube feature (currently in beta) called “leanback”, the writer mentions the Late Late Show as one way to test it out.

On Saturday, we attempted a Late Late Show-themed “Clarihew” poem in honor of Clarihew Day (see yesterday’s post for details). And on our invitation, RSA member LateLateLass came up with a pair of gems to share with us:

Sid the bunny
is terribly funny;

He curses and swears,
Unlike most other hares.

Great Danish thinker Kierkegaard,
Expounded on subjects that were dreadfully hard.
He loved to set forth the pathos of paradox;
I bet he’d have been happier studying hollyhocks!

Well done, LateLateLass!

New episodes of the Late Late Show return this week, starting Monday when Craig welcomes Big Brother host Julie Chen, actor/comedian Michael Ian Black and the music of Dierks Bentley. On Tuesday, actress Marion Cotillard returns to the show, along with comedian Louie Anderson. The week wraps up on Friday with actress Ellen Page and music by Julie Gribble.

Craig wraps up his latest stand up comedy tour at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA, just north of Philadelphia tonight. He’ll be back in Los Angeles for new episodes of the Late Late Show beginning Monday.

In case you missed one of the funniest moments of Futurama featuring Craig, this clip is what you’re looking for.

Today is Clarihew Day, named for Edmund Clarihew Bently, who came up with a four-line biographical style of poetry. The first line usually contains the subject’s name and uses rhyming couplets. We’ll give it a try:

Craig Ferguson
is a funny one.
The humorous Scot
makes us laugh a lot.

We’re guessing you can do better… send us yours if you like!

Craig appears tonight at the Tropicana Showroom in Atlantic City. Last night, @girltrueheart snapped a picture of Craig wearing a bandage which covers the scrapes he suffered falling from an amusement park slide in Vermont earlier this week.
@takemeback captured a picture from another angle. Get well soon, Craig!

To preview his visit to the Boardwalk, the Atlantic City Weekly newspaper did an interview with our fearless leader. He’ll wrap up his east coast trip near Philadelphia tomorrow.

Before last night’s stand up show in Redbank, NJ, Craig talked about warm up man Randy Kagan in a tweet: Backstage in NJ listening to @randykagan rockin the house. He’s the comedy BonJovi. He then re-tweeted a clever response from @EmmaFan27: Somewhat like you’re the Comedy Lady Gaga?

As our regular readers know, we sometimes look back in the video archives to bring you interesting moments with Craig, including television/radio interviews and personal appearances. We usually have a clip or two to show on the weekends or on “slow news days”. But we’re rapidly running low on original clips. If you have a favorite video clip of Craig (other than on the LLS itself) please send us a link on Twitter @RSA_News <-- Note the little “underscore” thingy between the words. Links to news articles are also always welcome. We thank our contributors for their help!

Tonight’s Late Late Show is an encore presentation of the June 9th, 2010 program, with Kyra Sedgwick and Tom Felton. Fresh, new, live (shh!) episodes of the Late Late Show return next week!

Craig appears tonight at the Count Basie Theatre in Redbank, NJ. He’ll be in Atlantic City tomorrow and near Philadelphia on Friday to wrap up his current stand up comedy tour. Thanks to the RSA’s Banana_Happy for the nice poster today.

The Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning, and the Late Late Show was not among the nominees. However, fellow Worldwide Pants production, The Late Show with David Letterman, got two nods, for outstanding direction and outstanding technical direction. David Letterman was also nominated as an executive producer for a PBS special called “When Families Grieve”. Another interesting note: The now-canceled Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien received four nominations, including outstanding variety, music or comedy series, outstanding writing, outstanding directing and outstanding art direction. Craig was nominated in 2006 for outstanding individual performance in a variety or music program (a category that is no longer awarded). Barry Manilow won the award that night, and Craig has joked about it ever since.

The New York Times notes in its ArtsBeat blog that they thought the Late Late Show deserved a nod.

Craig tweeted just before his performance in Connecticut last night: Getting ready to go onstage in Stamford CT. Still messed up from alpine slide incident. Foot hurting but the shoe must go on. #sorryforpun. And then after the show: Thanks Stamford. You took away the pain. You too advil. Get well, soon Craig.

Note: For those who are requesting beloved RSA General Malinky2Stoatir to re-post various episodes of past Late Late Shows on the Googly-web Facetube thingy, she asks: If you want your req taken seriously, you need to provide a date, not just a name. #RSArmy Remember it takes time and effort for her to find old episodes and upload them, so please be patient.

The re-run fairy brings us the June 3rd, 2010 Late Late Show tonight, with Adam Goldberg and magician Jamy Ian Swiss.

Craig is in Stamford, Connecticut tonight for a stand up comedy show at the Palace Theatre, before heading on to Redbank, NJ Thursday. We’re wondering if he’ll talk about his spill from an amusement park slide in Vermont yesterday. If any roboskellies are at tonight’s show, please let us know. Our thanks to monroemk for letting us use the nice screen capture of Toby Keith and Craig from Sunday night.

The Chicago Tribune has some nice things to say about Craig Ferguson while attempting to build the perfect talk show host.

Although they are nearly a year behind, CreativeLoafing.com offers a review of Craig’s book American on Purpose.

Tonight, we look back to the May 20th episode of the Late Late Show, where Craig attempts to divine the meaning of the ring on Holly Hunter’s left hand, and we enjoy music from the Hold Steady.

Craig said in a tweet this afternoon that he fell from an amusement park ride in Vermont and apparently suffered some scrapes. His first tweet was: Fell off slide at amusement park in VT. Minor injuries. This must be how Fabio felt after being hit by a goose. Current mood- neosprorriny He re-tweeted a comment from @kgagne who asked: Would that have been the Alpine Slide at Bromley Mountain in Peru, VT? Never ride it with any skin exposed! And Craig replied: Now you tell me. Still I think I might have stumbled upon an effective form of tattoo removal. We hope Craig has been properly bandaged and cared for, so he’ll be ready for tomorrow night’s appearance in Connecticut.

The RSA’s own ProperAmtofSuck was in Boston for the Independence Day celebration on Sunday night and sent us some great pictures. One with a fireworks display…

One with a wider look at the area where the concert took place…

And one of Craig and Toby Keith on the stage. Thanks for sharing these with the RSA!

Yesterday, we passed along the Boston Herald’s thoughts on the holiday celebration. Today, the Boston Globe weighs in.

It’s day two of a week of encore (old) shows. Tonight’s Late Late Show reprises the May 13th, 2010 episode, featuring Robert Downey, Jr.

Craig made sure everyone had a great time at last night’s Independence Day celebration in Boston, even jumping off the stage with Toby Keith to sing! The Boston Herald has a wrap-up of the evening’s events. If any roboskellies were there, we’d be happy to post a picture and hear your story!

Rebecca Tucker greeted us from Maine with a tweet: Lobster at Arby’s. Welcome to Maine http://twitpic.com/22pr4t Glad to see you’re sampling the local cuisine.

Craig is off until Wednesday when he appears at the Palace Theatre in Stamford, CT.

It’s re-run time this week, starting with a rebroadcast of the May 5th, 2010 Late Late Show, with Craig’s guest Scarlett Johansson. We hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th!
