To be a member of the audience at the Late Late Show is something few roboskellies have experienced in person but is something to which we can aspire.  Some skellies even get to be on TV for a moment… some more than others.  @KyleHodges1 has a fun blog post about his “appearance” on the show complete with video evidence, as he tweeted:  New blog post about my time on the Craig Ferguson show. Money Shot http://bit.ly/c5mvCt #craigferguson #RSA

For a Friday, here’s a Follow Friday recommendation from @bgrhubarb and @JuliaChildCIA:  Follow Friday @LollipopTheater – an amazing charity for sick kids! Check them out here: www.lollipoptheater.org Make them your #FF too!

And RSA General @Malinky2Stoatir had a fun tweet this afternoon:  The kitty slaps the ass…I said kitty! http://i.imgur.com/7EUs7.gif

Friday fact: @CraigyFerg has 322,208 followers, which is more than the population of Belize.  Take that, Central America!

Tonight on the Late Late Show, the February 26th episode returns with director Quentin Tarantino and music by Mumford and Sons.

Craig is having fun on vacation and tweeted a fun one one today:  Shaved vacation beard down to goatee. I look like an elderly gay Viennese psychiatrist circa 1910. Sweet! Just the look I wanted. Several RSA’ers jumped on that tweet and responded, asking for a picture so Craig responded a few minutes later by tweeting this picture.  Sorry, Craig… nice try but pics or it didn’t happen.  The RSA’s @SunnyAnnie84 warmed up her computer and came up with this or this possible look for Craig.  We think it has potential!

Late Late Show producer Michael Naidus continues to have fun on his vacation in Buenos Aries:  This tango fad just might have some legs. I’m just saying. Sounds like he’s a dancing machine.

Craig and family have three dogs, at least one of whom is rather “farty”.  And one is a German Shepherd, who Craig claims marches at night.  Craig tweeted these pictures a few months ago.

We couldn’t remember the dogs’ names but we knew we could count on the RSA’s @lollioness to remind us, which she did in the comments below:  The German Shepherd`s name is Gordon. The Jack Russel Terrier`s name is Maryann. The farty French Bulldog is Cabbage. Thanks also to @S_e_g_o for finding a great video clip.  All together now… awwwwwwww

The LLS re-run-a-thon continues tonight with an episode from March 1st, with actress Lauren Graham and Big Bang Theory actor Simon Helberg.

Craig and company remain on vacation through next week but we have taken a sneak peek at some of the guests being planned for the return of new shows in late August and early September.  Some of the names on the list include 80’s TV heartthrob Don Johnson, talkshow host Jerry Springer, Inside the Actors Studio host James Lipton, actress Anne Heche, actor John Larroquette, actor Chris Kattaan, Oprah’s friend and daytime show host Dr. Oz, actress Kristen Bell and fashion expert Tim Gunn (whispered: Tim Gunn).

Perhaps lost amid all the turmoil surrounding Emma Thompson’s comments about the Isle of Wight was the other news she mentioned to Craig; that she’s been asked to write a Peter Rabbit story to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the original tales.  TheBookseller.com took note.

Last fall, Craig made appearances around the country to promote his autobiography, American on Purpose.  At one of those stops, he read the preface to the book and talked about some of his experiences.  Thanks to @Fanny57 for sending us the link.  Our apologies in advance for the commercial… it’s embedded in the video clip.

Tonight on the Late Late Show, a rebroadcast of last Thursday’s golf-delayed episode, with actress Emma Thompson and comedian Carlos Alazraqui.

A Craig fan has sent us some screen captures from Craig’s Shark Week special, here, here, here, here and here.

Please note:  Video or pictures from inside the Late Late Show studios or from Craig’s live stand up shows are not permitted, so we will not re-post them here.  But from any other locations. including screen captures from broadcasts, book signings, or personal appearances, we welcome contributions from our readers… pictures, stories, videos… anything Craig/LLS/RSA related,  so we can share them with the rest of the RSA!

The Emma Thompson chatter continues as more media outlets cover the story of her Isle of Wight comments last week, including The Advocate, IrishCentral.com and the Isle of Man’s Manx Radio.  The episode where Emma made her joking remarks will re-air tomorrow night on CBS.

Although Craig is taking a break, he did tweet about last night’s rerun:  Tonights show was an “encore presentation”. Geoffrey Peterson & I are at a couples yoga retreat in Santa Barbara with Regis & Don Rickles. Now that would be an interesting group!

Meanwhile, Craig’s assistant, Rebecca Tucker is enjoying running but not the traffic jams caused by President Obama’s visit to the City of Angels:   Thanks, obama. I’ve been trying to get home from my run for 1.5 hours http://twitpic.com/2fmoyg nothing like running ten miles than stewing in our own sweat for two hours. Glad we are in your car, not mine. The traffic snarls have been covered extensively by the local media in LA, including the LA Times.

Tonight on the Late Late Show, the February 24th episode, featuring actor Don Cheadle and writer Jeannette Walls.

If you are at all a sports fan, you probably know the name Bobby Thomson, the New York Giants baseball hero who hit one of the most famous home runs in the game’s history nearly 60 years ago.  Thomson died yesterday.  The New York Times has an obituary, Wikipedia has a detailed account of the game and ESPN has the audio clip that is perhaps the best known radio sports call ever.

In case you missed last Thursday’s episode of the Late Late Show, during which actress Emma Thompson joked about how homosexuals, Irish and Scottish people might be received on the Isle of Wight, the episode will be repeated this Wednesday.  In the meantime, the media in the UK are still buzzing about what she said and how the Isle is responding.  New articles have been posted by the Daily Mail, isleofman.com and the BBC Online.

LLS assistant producer Andrea Wayland is vacationing in Hawaii and tweeted this yesterday:  I just booked my first open ocean SCUBA dive(s). O.M.G. We’re sure Craig will appreciate hearing your stories about it, Andrea.  Good luck!

It’s pretty quiet on the Late Late Show tweetybox since they’re on vacation until August 30th.  Craig has posted a couple of things that we’ve mentioned here and has replied to at least one person, so he may be stalking the tweets this week.  We’ll keep our eyes open.  In the meantime, we’re still looking for interesting Craig video, stories or other tidbits.  If you’d like to share your Craigy fun with the rest of the RSA, these next few days would be a great time to send it to us!

It’s the first of two weeks of reruns on the Late Late Show, beginning with the February 17th episode.  Tonight, Craig chats with actress Helena Bonham Carter.

Craig and the Late Late Show team are on summer vacation, so their tweets have been few and far between.  But as they get back into the swing of things, we’ll keep you up to date.  As you saw yesterday, Craig was on a sailboat near Santa Monica.  LLS producer Michael Naidus traveled a little farther from home, as evidenced in his tweet:  Buenos Aires is chilly; the people here are not. And the steaks are as great as advertised. That sounds like a good time.

We reached 800 Twitter followers overnight.  Thank you to everyone who follows us and spreads the word to other RSA members.  Craig has more than 313,000 followers, so we’d like 1/313th of that… only a couple hundred to go.

Back in 1991, the inimitable Stephen Fry hosted a nationally televised program in the UK to raise money for AIDS awareness and prevention.  In a sketch, he invited Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie, Emma Freud and Craig to talk about safe sex (sort of).  This event, by Craig’s own admission, was several months before he got sober. Although the subject matter is a tiny bit risque, it is all done in good fun and we hope you’ll enjoy.  Thanks to the RSA’s @CozyHobo for sending us the link.

Thank you to the roboskellies who have been helping us test some live chat interfaces here on the site.  We’re testing a few different options to see which ones work the best, as a way to invite more people to spend time here on the site.  We can’t monitor a chat room 24/7, so at this point it will be open only from time to time.  We’ll send out a note on Twitter when we’re open for business.  So far, we’ve tried the Meebo chat room and phpFreeChat, both of which seemed to work well.  It has been suggested that we try Skype but that would require any user to sign up for a Skype account.  A better alternative may be TinyChat, which allows users to sign in with Twitter, Facebook or MySpace.  We have set up an account there but are have a bear of a time getting it to embed on our website.  WordPress sometimes stumbles with JavaScript, so we’re not sure how to fix it.  Anyone with suggestions, please tweet us up and let us know, or send a message using the form on the right-hand column.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Simon Helberg

It’s the first of two weeks of “encore presentations” (reruns) of the Late Late Show on CBS beginning tomorrow.  Most of this week’s episodes are from February of 2010.  On Monday, see Craig’s interview of actress Helena Bonham Carter from February 17th.  On Tuesday, it’s the February 24th show featuring actor Don Cheadle and writer Jeannette Walls.  They suddenly lurch forward in time to just this past week, for the golf-delayed August 12th episode with actress Emma Thompson and comedian Carlos Alazraqui.  Then it’s back to March 1st on Thursday, with actress Lauren Graham and Big Bang Theory actor Simon Helberg.  And on Friday, it’s the February 26th show with director Quentin Tarantino and music by Mumford and Sons.

It’s vacation time for Craig and he sent a tweet late yesterday from what sounded like a very nice place:  On a 50ft sailboat in Santa Monica bay At 7kts. Listening to the Killers. This is very very nice. We hope every roboskelly has a chance to relax a bit as summer begins to wind down.

Back in his days as “Mr. Wick” on The Drew Carey Show, Craig was asked to do a commercial for an iced tea company. Thanks to the RSA’s @AnnaCarline for finding this gem!

Author @JackieJCollins had a nice tweet about Craig:  @CraigyFerg is one of the few talk show hosts who has authors on his show. Sometimes more interesting than actors. Agreed.

Today is National Financial Awareness Day although given the economy, we suspect everyone is rather aware of their finances.  It’s also Senior Citizens Day and the birthday of Felix the Cat.  Did anyone have the clock that looked like him?

We have been testing a live chat room here on the site… if you see the menu button on the upper left part of the page marked “Live Chat”, stop in and say hello.
