Craig tweeted some exciting news earlier today:  Hmm. What’s that? new musical openings beginning to cook. Next week perhaps? Puppets ho! We know many robot skeletons are happy to hear that news.  Craig also tweeted an odd picture:  http://yfrog.com/8b87zyj Chicken vampires FTW

Craig also joined in a bit of Twitter fun with comedians Paul and Storm today. With the hashtag #starwars3D, they were joking about possible new characters or dialogue that might appear when Star Wars is re-released in 3-D.  For example, they thought Jar Jar Binks would have to be Jar Jar Jar Binks in 3-D  and R2-D2 might become R2-DDD.  Craig contributed these:  Jabba the duplex. #starwars3d and it made the kessel run in less than 36 parceps. #starwars3d

Today’s Boston Globe online edition has a brief Q & A with Craig.

In yesterday’s post we mentioned that one of Craig’s favorite charities, the Lollipop Theater Network is holding an online charity auction for the next few weeks to raise funds.  Today, thanks to @LipSyncingScot we learned that one of the auction items you can bid on is a chance to meet Craig backstage October 23rd at Carnegie Hall in New York City!  Details are in the tweet:   Meet @CraigyFerg at Carnegie Hall! http://www.charitybuzz.com/auctions/lollipop/catalog_items/2207024 All proceeds benefit @LollipopTheater! Now that would be a great way to support a wonderful charity and get a nice reward in return.

As you have probably heard, legendary actor Tony Curtis has passed away.  Our esteemed General @Malinky2Stoatir was kind enough to re-post Craig’s interview with Tony from nearly two years ago:  Craig’s chat with Hollywood legend Tony Curtis on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson 11/27/8 youtube.com/watch?v=k8cDSH…#RSA

Craig’s guests Wednesday on the Late Late Show are actor Edward Norton and actress Odette Yustman.  On Thursday, don’t miss charming actress Carey Mulligan and comedian Marc Maron.

The folks at TVSquad.com went into some deeper analysis of David Boreanaz and Craig‘s not-kiss, kiss, not-kiss, kiss last night.

The comedy world is saddened tonight with word of the death of Greg Giraldo. The Harvard-educated lawyer turned comedian died of an apparent prescription drug overdose at just 44 years old.

Our friend @JuliaChildCIA often promotes the events of one of Craig’s favorite charities (he serves on their advisory board), the Lollipop Theater Network, which brings first-run movies to brighten the lives of hospitalized children.  They are holding an online charity auction to raise funds.  For details, check our their page on the charitybuzz.com website.

Tonight on the Late Late Show, it’s the always understated Steven Wright, author Sloane Crosley and the music of Blake Shelton.  On Thursday, Craig talks with actor Edward Norton and actress Odette Yustman.

Like much of the west coast, the heat has been sweltering lately.  Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker has a little help, thanks to Craig:  Best gift my boss ever gave me? A dyson less fan for those 113 degree days http://twitpic.com/2stc3y She quickly amended the typo in her tweet:  that would be a Dyson BLADEless fan… That would definitely be a very cool thing on a hot day.  Meanwhile, LLS assistant producer Andrea Wayland was in the same boat:  Coming to you live, it’s the 90’s at nine. Result: I gave my cat a nice cooling bath when I got home. http://twitpic.com/2spcvn She added:  3 fans on, doors open, windows open, ice packs rotating, pillow in freezer. You all better pray I sleep tonight. Me + no sleep = trouble. We hope you sleep well, Andrea.

Leave it to New York Magazine to have a little fun with Craig and Sela Ward‘s musings about her old cheerleading uniform, as well as other interesting late night tidbits from Monday’s shows.

Thanks to several roboskellies for letting us know about this:  BBC Radio Scotland has an old except of @lynnfergy http://ht.ly/2KFz7 discussing funny women, available for the next 4 days. Note:  The clip will remain posted for just three more days.

Tonight on the Late Late Show, will Craig or Geoff have a bone to pick with Bones actor Actor David Boreanaz?  Plus Craig chats with actress Melissa McCarthy.  On Wednesday, comedian Steven Wright returns to the show, along with author Sloane Crosley and country singer Blake Shelton.

It’s been cool and fall-like in many parts of the country but on the west coast, it has been cooking.  Hot weather is making plenty of folks feel uncomfortable including Craig, who tweeted today:   Jeez. It’s so hot in LA when one has a trouser-cough it feels like a cool breeze. Should we expect a few “It’s so hot…” jokes on the show tonight?  Should be a pretty safe bet.  Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker is on the same wavelength:  it is impossible to wake up in a good mood when it is 200 degrees in my house. i apologize in advance for my bad attitude today. We understand.

The voice of Geoff Petersen, Josh Robert Thompson, has a YouTube channel with lots of interesting video.  He tweeted about it earlier today:  SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube Channel for behind-the-scenes videos, LLS sketches and more! http://tinyurl.com/n3ktz4 #RSA

Did you hear Jon Hamm talking to Craig last week about a smartphone video game called “Angry Birds”?  The Christian Science Monitor has more about it.

Tonight on the Late Late Show, it’s producer/director  Guillermo Del Toro and actress Sela Ward in the guest chair and on Tuesday, Bones star David Boreanaz and actress Melissa McCarthy join Craig.

It’s a great day for America, everybody.  No really, it is.  And it’s also a great day for Austalia because the new Eleven Network confirmed on Twitter today that it will be carrying the Late Late Show.  Its sister company, the Ten  Network has carried Late Night with David Letterman for several years.  The Eleven Network will launch next year.  So in the near future, RSA members in Australia will be able to get their daily dose of our fearless leader!

Sela Ward

It’s another great week of all-new episodes of the Late Late Show in store for you.  On Monday, Craig welcomes producer/director Guillermo Del Toro and actress Sela Ward.  On Tuesday, it’s actor David Boreanaz from the CBS series Bones and actress Melissa McCarthy.  Then on Wednesday, Comedian Stephen Wright stops by, along with author Sloane Crosley (held over from last week) and country singer Blake Shelton.  Then on Thursday, it’s actor Edward Norton and actress Odette Yustman.  Finally on Friday, Craig chats with actress Carey Mulligan and comedian Marc Maron.

Craig will be back on the road in October for a series of stand up comedy appearances, next Friday through Sunday in New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Kansas City, Missouri.  And then a full week of live performances on the east coast October 16-23.  We’ll post an updated list of concerts here tomorrow.

Another event Craig will attend in October is the Direct Marketing Association’s annual awards banquet.  He’ll be the featured performer for the evening.  We’ve seen video of past corporate appearances and they are essentially his stand-up show but perhaps toned down a bit for the audience.  The public is not invited to these sorts of events.

The Cumbernauld House, a historic estate in the town where Craig and his sister Lynn grew up, has been the focus on preservation efforts for some time.  The most recent change is that the home has been saved from crumbling into disrepair by a development company.  But some local residents are not happy with the developer’s plans to turn it into apartments rather than maintaining it as a public landmark.  You can follow the saga on the activists’ Twitter account or their Facebook page.

Today is National Comic Book Day, it’s the day the card game for children UNO first appeared and it’s One Hit Wonder Day.  One of our all time favorites was 1982’s Come On Eileen by Dexie’s Midnight Runners.
