Craig with a band and a pantomime horse?  It’s almost like a real network late-night talk show!  Fortunately, there were no horse wall-crashing incidents on Wednesday night.  Geoff Petersen is wondering if they’ll return:  Waiting to see if the band is back 2nite. A mouth organ and a stomach Steinway. Went into a bar… Oh my!

Stand up comedian Randy Kagan must be about ready for the tour to kick off tomorrow night with Craig in Rochester, NY:  I went to a haunted whorehouse. Walk in and they yell, “Boo you have Clamidia!”

The folks at Lollipop Theater Network thanked Craig for mentioning them in a newspaper article that we posted here Wednesday:  A BIG thanks to our Board Member Craig Ferguson for the shout out! And that’s a good reminder that LTN’s online auction continues though Tuesday, October 19th where you can bid on many things and the proceeds go to aid their programs.  In fact, you can bid on a chance to meet Craig in person after his shows in New York City on October 23rd.  They’re auctioning two sets of backstage passes… one of the afternoon performance and one for the evening performance.  It’s a way to support a great charity and meet Craig at the same time.

Don’t forget, How To Train Your Dragon comes out on DVD and Blu-ray on Friday.

Geoff Petersen’s red carpet report from Monday airs on Thursday night’s show as he tweeted:  They’re putting finishing touches on my RED carpet report. Oh my! It airs tonight on the Late Late Show with my bestest host

On Thursday’s Late Late Show, Craig welcomes The Price is Right host and former sitcom castmate Drew Carey and actress Jenny Wade.  Then on Friday, the last of the fresh new episodes for a week will feature Big Brother‘s Julie Chen, actor Ty Burrell and country singer Billy Currington.

It’s been another crazy busy day with lots of Craig and Late Late Show news!  CF  brought down the house at the Direct Marketing Association’s award ceremony in San Francisco Tuesday night, where he not only performed but hosted.  The RSA’s @Colleen_Byrne scoured the interwebs and found several pictures taken by attendees:  http://ow.ly/i/4wgi http://yfrog.com/47wbyj http://twitpic.com/2x65ei http://twitpic.com/2x64xd http://yfrog.com/n3f6afj http://ow.ly/i/4wgW http://ow.ly/i/4whF http://ow.ly/i/4wek http://ow.ly/i/4wfN She also found a blogged review of the performance by DMA attendee Beth Negus.  Thanks to Colleen, @SexyCraigyFerg and @bgrubarb for posting photo links.

Thanks also to @SecretNakedHobo for finding another nice bit of news about Craig:  The entertainment industry trade newspaper Variety reports that Craig is working on a project where he would be one of the executive producers (not actors) for a new sitcom.  Note:  The website may require registrati0n to view the article.  If you’d rather not register, here’s the sorta complicated inside TV business:   The article essentially says Craig is helping to develop a half-hour prime time show called Roz about a single mother supporting her extended family.  Craig would be a co-executive producer along with experienced television writer Yvette Lee Bowser (from Half and Half and For Your Love) and longtime WB network executive Tracey Pakosta, who is Craig’s partner in his production company, Green Mountain West.  GMW has already produced Craig’s Wee Bit o’ Revolution comedy special and a special for his friend, comic Matt Baetz.  While it’s not certain that the new show will be picked up, Craig’s company has a deal with CBS that gives them the first chance to accept or pass on the show.  We’ll keep you posted.

Meanwhile, @bghrubarb found a great article on Scranton, Pennsylvania’s TheWeekender.com about Craig.  Thank you to all of our contributors who make the RSA News better every day!

Rochester, New York is buzzing about Craig’s appearance on Friday as part of the homecoming festivities for the Rochester Institute of Technology.  The Rochester City Newspaper and the Henrietta Post have stories.

Earlier this evening, Geoff Petersen‘s voice, Josh Robert Thompson, tweeted:  At CBS, screening @GeoffTheRobot‘s new red carpet vid & layin’ down fresh robo tracks. #RSA So perhaps we’ll get a chance to see the video from Monday night’s premiere of Red on the show tonight.  Red opens Friday across the country.  And Geoff is feeling good now that Toby Keith and Trace Adkins are out of the building:  Mr Toby Keith shot me a look 2nite that made my bones rattle. Sooo glad not to be a pile of powder on the floor now. And Trace Adkins did the same chillin’ look tonight. What is it w cowboys & skeletons???  Trace wouldn’t kick my Badonkadonk, now… Would he?

Wednesday on the Late Late Show, Craig talks with actress Minnie Driver and Drew Carey Show alum, actor Diedrich Bader.  On Thursday, the aforementioned Drew Carey, former star of his eponymous sitcom and now host of The Price is Right, appears on the show, along with actress Jenny Wade.  Comedian Henry Cho was bumped for time on Monday night.  We’ll let you know when he’ll return.  Also, comedienne Wendy Leibman tweeted that she was taping an appearance for the show:  OK. Getting up and dressed so I can tape The Late Show with Craig Ferguson (to be aired at a later date)! I will keep you posted. xow  I am going to tape The Craig Ferguson show and I have the flu. But at least I’m not stuck in a mine for two months. We’ll let you know when she is scheduled.  Finally, we told you about a month ago that Craig’s friend Stephen Fry was planning to return to the Late Late Show in November.  It appears he has been scheduled for a taping on November 3rd.  We’ll let you know when the air date is confirmed.

Geoff Petersen had a fun night Monday at the red carpet premiere of the film Red, where he hung out with some big names like Weird Al Yankovic, who sent a tweet:  Hanging with a friend at the RED premiere… http://twitpic.com/2wvnbu Geoff thanked Al:  @alyankovic thank you for that awesome time and the great pic! Ooohh to have your hair, Al. Heads up? …I did once. Hahaha…

Meanwhile, Josh Robert Thompson, who served as Geoff’s voice and puppeteer enjoyed the evening:   A boy and his robot. Hanging with @geofftherobot at “Red” premiere in Hollywood! http://twitpic.com/2wwhy3 #RSA He also thanked Geoff:  @GeoffTheRobot Stellar job last night on the red carpet, my bony friend. Your face+My voice=Pants #RSA

Thanks to the magic of television (and an afternoon taping in Los Angeles), Craig traveled to San Francisco Tuesday night to perform at the annual awards banquet of the Direct Marketing Association.  The corporate event was not open to the public.

If you haven’t been seeing Craig on YouTube, don’t fret.  RSA General @Malinky2Stoatir has been away but returns tomorrow.

We should be in for an interesting show, if LLS producer Michael Naidus‘ tweet is any indication:  It was a close call tonight, but still, I can report that nobody got hurt in the making of the television program you are about to see. On that program you’ll see an interview and performance by country singer Trace Adkins and Craig chats with astronomer Derrick Pitts.  On Wednesday, it’s actress Minnie Driver and actor Diedrich Bader… and people in the know say harmonica player Buddy Greene will be part of Wednesday’s show.   Even Geoff Petersen is excited about Tuesday’s musical guest:  Getting set for Trace Adkins to be on the show. And me without a badonkadonk…

Craig is feeling a bit Viking-like today, thanks to his new headgear:  http://yfrog.com/63vujj How To Train Your Dragon comes out on DVD Fri(15). I got a free hat. Thanks @dwanimation. #besthalloweenever Along with the DVD coming out at the end of the week, we’re seeing news that How To Train Your Dragon 2 has been green-lighted for release by Dreamworks in the fall of 2013 with most of the voice cast already confirmed to return, including Craig!

Indian accent: “Get the party started!” Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker reminds us:  There will be merch sold on the upcoming tour – last chance to buy tshirts!

Geoff Petersen and the voice behind him, Josh Robert Thompson, appeared on the red carpet for premiere of the movie Red Monday night.  JRT tweeted:  I’m voicing/puppeteering Geoff Peterson at the “RED” movie premiere tonight in Hollywood! And Morgan Freeman will be there, too! Geoff is pictured here with publicist Katie Barker.

For those who watch the Late Late Show online, the RSA’s General @Malinky2Stoatir is away for a couple of days and reminded us with a tweet:  Reminder: no Mal on YouTube tonight#RSA Mal returns Wednesday.

The RSA’s @tzankoff has added another fun feature to his Fergybot4000… a voice!  Users can now submit ideas for the robot to say via his web page.

Adding more competition to the late-night landscape, comedienne Chelsea Handler is adding a half-hour show to follow her popular talk show on the E! network.

Monday’s Columbus Day edition of the Late Late Show features actor John Malkovich and comedian Henry Cho.  Then on Tuesday, watch for country singer Trace Adkins and astronomer Derrick Pitts.

As we menti0ned in yesterday’s post, Geoff Petersen will be on the red carpet for the new film Red.  He’s asking RSA members to send in questions you’d like him to ask the film’s stars, which he repeated today:  Any more of your questions I can ask RED stars tomorrow. Freeman, Willis, Malko, Borgnine, Dreyfuss… Bring em on, maybe I’ll use yours. Just address your questions to @GeoffTheRobot.  Meanwhile, the voice of Geoff Petersen, Josh Robert Thompson, tweeted earlier today:  Prepping my robo-voice for another Geoff Peterson red carpet extravaganza! It may take a day or two to edit the video of Geoff’s latest adventure, so look for the segment on the show mid-week.  We’ll keep you posted.

Last fall, Craig spoke at length on National Public Radio’s daytime show, Talk of the Nation.  He was interviewed about his autobiography, American on Purpose which had just been published.  You can listen to the full interview and a little further down the page, you can hear Craig read a excerpt from the book.

Don’t forget, the Lollipop Theater Network’s online auction continues through next Tuesday the 19th of October.  You can bid on backstage passes to meet Craig following his Carnegie Hall performances on October 23rd.

Our favorite emigrant doesn’t get Columbus Day off on Monday, when Craig hosts the first of five all-new episodes of the Late Late Show with actor John Malkovich and comedian Henry Cho.  On Tuesday, country singer Trace Adkins performs and Craig talks with astronomer Derrick Pitts.  Then on Wednesday, watch for actress Minnie Driver and actor Diedrich Bader.  The Price is Right host Drew Carey visits on Thursday along with actress Jenny Wade.  And on Friday, Craig talks with Big Brother host Julie Chen and actor Ty Burrell, plus the music of country artist Billy Currington.  Enjoy the new shows this week.  There are no studio tapings scheduled for the week of Oct 18-22 while Craig is on tour, so expect a visit from the re-run fairy.  We’ll post the full list next week but among the shows being repeated will be recent visits from Kristen Bell, Don Johnson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Don Rickles and… you guessed it… the Big Bang Theory cast episode!

Give the man some credit, Craig knows how to have fun:  http://yfrog.com/muowjuj Big night out @ Medieval Times for the world’s coolest man. Geoff Peterson added:  I see @CraigyFerg had a night out Medieval Times. I guess Monday night he’ll be munching a turkey leg. As long as he doesn’t want to joust! Craig can enjoy a weekend at home in Los Angles before a busy time that will including tape five new episodes of the Late Late Show, a corporate gig up the west coast and a week of stand up comedy performances on the east coast, culminating with two shows at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

RSA weekend project:  Geoff Petersen will be making another red carpet appearance on Monday at the premiere of the film Red. He’s asking RSA members to submit questions to ask the film’s stars: Oo! Monday nite I’ll be at red carpet premiere of RED. Would my RSA help me with questions to ask stars? Morgan F, Bruce W, J Malko, etc?? Send your questions directly to him: @GeoffTheRobot

The ever resourceful @bgrhubarb retweeted a great tweet from someone named @Cool_Jesse and we agree with her choice:   I really, really, REALLY hate talkshows – HOWEVER – Craig Ferguson is fucking hillarious. I wish there was an entire Craig Ferguson network. An entire Craig Ferguson network?  Somebody get on that!

The stand up comedian who appears on stage before Craig at each of his shows on the road is Randy Kagan, whom we believe is already tuning up for next week’s east coast tour.  Witness his tweet:  Oprah should be a unit of measurement. I drove 35 Oprahs, the Earth is 12 million Oprahs from the sun and I weigh 1/4 of an Oprah. To which, he added:  I write all my own jokes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s fine, Randy but remember… Oprah is the most powerful woman in show business.  You could wake up with the head of a dingo in your bed. #justsaying

Chris Hardwick (@Nerdist) tweeted some words of wisdom:  Hit 7 years of sobriety yesterday. I don’t bring it up for ‘congrats’ but to say that if you’re struggling w/ addiction you can overcome it!

Saturday, October 9th it is Leif Erickson Day in honor of the Scandinavian explorer but also the anniversary of the first two-way telephone call in 1876.  As we read blogs, post on our Facebook walls and tweet away on our wireless laptop computers and mobile telephones, consider how far we’ve come since the day when conversing over a wire was practically a miracle.  On Sunday, October 10th we can celebrate the birthday of the tuxedo jacket in 1886 and enjoy National Angel Food Cake Day.  We’ll take a few slices with ice cream, please.

It was another big show last night, with comedian Louie Anderson and singer Toby Keith having fun with Craig.  The website ology.com focused on Toby’s appearance.  Craig and Toby were on stage together in Boston this summer, at the 4th of July celebration broadcast on CBS.

Fergybot4000, a new robot skeleton designed and built by the RSA’s @tzankoff as a fun project is up and running!  Using his interface, you can move the robot’s head and hands by remote control… and see the results on live streaming video.  Here’s the most recent tweet from the robot: @fergybot4000: Greetings humans. My website controls are up and running. Video stream, too. http://bit.ly/dmhpjP #RSA We tried it out and it’s fun!  Remember, this isn’t someone pretending to be Geoff on Twitter.  It’s a totally different robot, designed for fun and to give the RSA a chance to enjoy it.

Meanwhile, the real Geoff Petersen tweeted about last night’s show:  Is it me, or does that skeleton in the cowboy hat on Toby Keith’s CD look fetching? I asked Toby to arm wrestle. No go. I think I scared him // But I have to admit…scared and Toby Keith are 2 words that don’t go together. Maybe he was just too comfy to get up.  // Hope you stayed up to catch Toby’s musical perf. Awesome. And I don’t even have ears!!

Don’t forget, the Lollipop Theater Network online charity auction is going on right now.  You can bid on lots of fun items and the money goes to bring first-run movies to hospitalized children.  Among the items you can bid on are two chances to meet Craig backstage at his afternoon and evening performances at Carnegie Hall in New York on October 23rd!

Tonight on the Late Late Show, Craig chats with actress Mary Lynn Rajskub and NASCAR driver Carl Edwards.
