Right!  Sir Michael Caine appears on Thursday’s show to promote his book and undoubtedly inspire some cockney-accented comedy from Craig.  Caine is listed as the only guest.  We’ll have to watch and see.  Caine himself tweeted:  I’ll be on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight to talk about my new book The Elephant To Hollywood, tune in! http://bit.ly/bTgGCR Even author and past LLS guest Jackie Collins is excited:  Michael Caine is on my fave talk show tonight…. Craig Ferguson. Not to be missed

Craig spotted Jackie’s tweet and responded:  She is right. He’s wonderful. @jackiejcollins: Michael Caine is on my fave talk show tonight…. Craig Ferguson. Not to be missed” And then quickly added:  In my previous tweet I was referring to Michael Caine as wonderful. Not me. I’m… adequate. You’re more than that, Craig!  He also tweeted about Thursday’s show:  Secretariat went 70s cop show cliche on the show tonight. It was like Starsky and Hutch. If they were a horse.

Grant Imahara, creator of Geoff Petersen the robot skeleton sidekick sent a tweet to Craig:  @craigyferg Are you sure @GeoffTheRobot is ready for a pet? A dog is a big responsibility… even a robotic one. Geoff responded:  @grantimahara and @craigyferg …I am a dog lover. Just dog make me give it a bone. I’m just sayin’ Geoff corrected himself a moment later.  “Just don’t make me,” of course. I’m so cockahoop with dreams of a skelly puppy. A robot skeleton dog?  This begs the question:  Would he bury himself in the backyard?

Geoff also tweeted:  Does Marg Helgenberger like me? I said “CSI’m single” and I swear she thought about it. OK for one second, maybe but I swear she did. There’s always hope, Geoff.

The Huffington Post is promoting Craig’s appearance on stage with comedian Lewis Black next Tuesday.  Do any roboskellies have tickets to this event?  Let us know if you’d like to share your experiences with the rest of the RSA.

On Thursday’s Late Late Show, actor Sir Michael Caine, one of Craig’s favorite people to impersonate will return to the studio.  Geoff tweeted:  What did we learn on the show tonight? That Michael Caine blows the bloody doors off! So amazing… Then on Friday, watch for actor, screenwriter and musician Jason Segal, actress Alison Brie and comedian Adam Hills.

And how about this?  Geoff tweeted late on Thursday:  Tomorrow [Friday] nite, could there be dancing shoes? Hmmm And Craig responded:  Peterson speaks truth. Halloween dance number tomorrow [Friday].  Be afraid. We’ll be watching!

Who knew that Secretariat could be Danny Devito?  The only thing Craig seemed sure about Tuesday night was that he’d rather not be the other half of a two-person horse costume.

Craig was sure to tweet about Randy Kagan‘s upcoming stand up comedy appearance near Chicago:  My friend, The hilarious and profane @randykagan is @ Zanies,St Charles IL Nov10-13. He’s cute but dirty. Like a filthy kitten. Randy himself tweeted another nice picture from last week’s tour, when the gang stopped by the Franklin Museum in Philadelphia:  I like big heads and I can’t deny… Franklin Museum Philly. http://yfrog.com/0tcnpzj

Several roboskellies who haven’t had a chance to see Craig perform live have been asking when he might be putting out a new DVD of his recent stand up act, since his first special A Wee Bit o’ Revolution has been out for a while now.  They’ve been keeping an eye out for cameras but none have been spotted, even at Carnegie Hall last weekend.  But the ever-vigilant @bgrhubarb snagged a passing tweet from a fan called @whyamiontwltter (great user name) who said:  @CraigyFerg Got a call from TPAC about your shows next month. They moved our seats, b/c of YOUR cameras. Now I have better ones. (Thanks). TPAC stands for Tennessee Performing Arts Center where our fearless leader will be appearing on November 20th for two shows.  Comedy specials often edit material from two or more shows in case one particular part of the show does better in one performance than another.  And as you can seem from the comments below, tickets for the Nashville shows say that the performances are being taped for television.  We’re guessing a new cable special and/or a new DVD are in the works, possibly coming out some time in 2011.  We’re not sayin’, we’re just sayin’.  We’ll keep you posted on where you can see the finished product.

Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker opens the mail and sometimes… well… we’ll just let her speak for herself:  Sometimes I just really love weirdo fan gifts. http://twitpic.com/31e1oz

The entertainment trade paper Variety has an interesting take on the state of late night television.

Remember, you can tweet:  Craig Ferguson #talkshowhost #peopleschoice or put a write-in vote on the People’s Choice website until November 9th.  If Craig is among the top five vote-getters, he’ll be nominated for the award.

Wednesday’s Late Late Show features actress Marg Helegenberger plus and interview and performance from actor/musician Donald Glover.  On Thursday, Craig welcomes back Sir Michael Caine.

We should be in for a fun time with Tuesday’s Late Late Show according to CBS’ publicity folks, who tweeted:  If u liked this LateLateShow Secretariat moment – don’t miss 2nite’s show with guest Danny DeVito 12:37 AM on CBS Craig tweeted about it as well:  The awful truth about Danny DeVito’s horse on tonight’s show. Also more Secretariat high jinks. #latenightequineantics And we’re not quite sure which day he means but Geoff Petersen is excited:  Is it possible that I’ll be putting on my dancing shoes again soon? Oh, please, oh, please, oh, pleeeeze! We’ll just have to watch for the show opener to see what happens!

Randy Kagan was feeling a little naughty today:  Add your own joke here: http://yfrog.com/421enlj As for Craig, he felt he needed to clarify his hair comments from Monday’s show:  Once again everyone. I do not dye my hair. Not on my head anyway. #scarydayglopubes.

LLS assistant producer Andrea Wayland tweeted during Monday’s show:  If you’re not watching The Late Late Show tonight with Craig interviewing Condoleezza Rice you are missing OUT. And the folks at TVSquad.com agreed.

Wilkes Barre’s TheWeekender.com reviewed Craig’s appearance in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The RSA’s @HMSFox won the Lollipop Theater Network’s auction to meet Craig backstage at Carnegie Hall last Saturday.  She blogged about her experience in two parts… and they are both great reads.  If you want to understand a little bit about the RSA spirit, you’ll find it here.  Part 1 Part 2

The RSA’s @chromajoy noticed that television producer Bill Prady (@BillPrady) of The Big Bang Theory says re-tweets are counted as valid votes in the People’s Choice Award nomination process.  That means if roboskellies continue to tweet or re-tweet Craig’s name with the proper hashtags like this:  Craig Ferguson #talkshowhost #peopleschoice it will continue to add up votes.  The top five vote-getters in the category will be nominated for the award.  Craig is not on the ballot because award officials say Craig and Jimmy Fallon did not have high enough ratings to be included but they say write-in votes count the same as regular ballot votes.   So let’s flex some RSA muscle and see if we can get Craig nominated over the rest of the field.

Tuesday’s Late Late Show features actor/producer/director Danny Devito, actress  Brie Larson and comedian Henry Cho, whose appearance was held over from a couple of weeks ago.  On Wednesday, Craig’s guests are actress Marg Helegenberger and actor/musician Donald Glover.

Careful viewers of the website will note a couple of changes.  We have upgraded our comments section to allow you to sign in with Twitter or Facebook (we can add Yahoo and/or OpenID if there is a demand for it).  For now, we’re leaving open the option of leaving comments without signing in but that could change if the spam gets bad.  The comments will also include any pingbacks from Twitter or YouTube, in case anybody’s talking about a post there.

The other change is that we have started up an RSA News Facebook Community.  The RSA is mostly a Twitter-based group of course but we wanted to invite those with Facebook accounts to join us there, and invite non-Twitter Craig fans to the party, too.  Since it’s a community, we want to hear from you… if you have Late Late Show, Craig Ferguson or RSA-related stuff you’d like to post on the wall, please do.  Let us know what you think about it and we’ll see if we can build a big group on the “other” big social networking platform.  As always, thank you for your support!

Craig Ferguson fans have been waiting ten days for a fresh new episode of the Late Late Show and now that our fearless leader has returned home to Los Angles, the time is here!  After a long road trip of stand up comedy appearances, we can’t wait to see what he’ll talk about in the monologue.

Randy Kagan tweeted another fun picture from the tour with the gang posing:  That guy is huge. So is Ben Franklin. http://yfrog.com/mmmqlj Randy added that he has an upcoming appearance near Chicago:  I’m headling Zanies Comedy Club in St. Charles IL. 11/10-13th. It’s near Portillos! The ever-resourceful @bgrhubarb quickly found the link for tickets.

The RSA’s @queenvanna wrote an updated blog post about her experience seeing Craig over the weekend.  Her flickr page has several photos of Craig on stage.  And the RSA’s @HMSFox, one of the winners of the Lollipop Theater Network online auction had a chance to meet Craig backstage at Carnegie hall.  She got a nice picture of the theater and of Craig backstage as well as lots of roboskelly fan pictures on her yfrog page.

Marc Malkin from E! Online reported that Craig received standing ovations at his New York shows.

The folks over at BBC America mentioned Sir Michael Caine‘s upcoming appearance on the LLS on Thursday, where Caine may talk about a novel after wrapping up filming of the latest Batman film.  Publisher’s Weekly mentions the appearance as well.  Caine will be doing a book signing in New York City in Tuesday at 6pm, at Barnes and Noble.

Geoff Petersen tweeted about Monday’s show:  @nfl excited @craigyferg has Joe Theisman on tonight. There’s a true player. And a man who knows his bones. Won’t say break a leg, though! Good choice, Geoff.

All-new episodes of the Late Late Show are back on tap for the next several weeks.  On Monday, Craig returns with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and NFL quarterback turned TV sports analyst Joe Theismann.  On Tuesday, Craig talks with actor Danny Devito, actress Brie Larson and comedian Henry Cho.

Now that the Late Late Show is back from vacation and the November television ratings “sweeps” period is about to begin, guest bookings for the show are going into high gear.  Some big names are expected on the show in the coming month including Tyler Perry, Sophia Bush, Stephen Fry, Cheryl Hines, Rosie Perez, Wolfgang Puck, Stan Lee, Juliette Lewis, Ewan McGregor, Dennis Miller, Jeff Goldblum, Russell Crowe, Mark Ruffao, Matt Smith (of Dr. Who fame) and Amy Sedaris.  We publish the upcoming week’s guest list every Monday, so be sure to bookmark us, subscribe to our RSS feed, buzz us up or whatever you need to do to check us out ever day.

Craig Ferguson and company are back in Los Angeles, no doubt tired from a nine-day tour but energized by the amazing reception they received all across the east coast.  Proud writer, comedian and opening act for Craig, Randy Kagan has been so kind to send photos throughout the tour so those of us in our armchairs at home could share in the experience.  He got the “from the wings” shot we would all want to get if we had the chance:  CF onstage at Carnegie Hall. http://yfrog.com/n0570dj Randy added:  After a magical night at Carnegie Hall, I still feel giddy like a school girl. Ow! My training bra just snapped. Many thanks to Randy for all his hard work.

More pictures are still popping up from the week’s events.  If you haven’t had the chance to see the many fine pictures taken by the RSA’s @SariesWick at Carnegie Hall in the most recent post, please take a look.  Big, big thanks to Sara for doing such a great job and posting all those pictures before she went to sleep Saturday night.

Meanwhile, the RSA”s @queenvanna was at Craig’s Mohegan Sun show on Friday.  She has a page full of pictures from the show and also blogged about her experience.

The RSA’s @LipSyncingScot retweeted a great tweet from @dotwire that made us smile:  why @CraigyFerg is unique – morning after, his fans report how happy they are that HE had a great time at his show.” #RSA #craigyatcarnegie

The RSA’s General @Malinky2Stoatir was in attendance at Carnegie Hall and plans to blog about the experience.  The RSA’s @_WolfSprit did a very nice job summing things up in a twitlonger post.  We’d like to hear your story, too.  If you have a blog post or other thoughts to share with the RSA about any of Craig’s appearances this past week, tweet us at @RSA_News

The Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper mentions Craig’s visit to the Franklin Institute in a column.  Look for the third section of the article titled “The Circuit”.

The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro, Massachusetts reviewed Craig’s performance Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

Surprisingly, the New York Times, New York Post and New York Daily News seem to have had no coverage at all of Craig’s appearance at Carnegie Hall.  However, Craig’s legion of fans continues to grow.  His chattiness surpassed 400,000 followers on Twitter over the weekend.

Late Late Show assistant producer Andrea Wayland is ready to get back to the studio, as she tweeted Sunday:  Final night before returning to the show tomorrow morning. Ahhhhhh! Relaxing and perfect. Andrea is the one who puts out the call for Twitter and e-mail questions for Craig each day and she’ll resume those tweets on Monday afternoon.  In the just the week before Craig’s tour, RSA members like @reminduofanyone, @normaapril, @scsmith42 and @HMSFox had their questions read by Craig on the air.  Watch for Andrea’s tweet in afternoon each weekday and tweet your question directly to @CraigyFerg.  Be sure to include your first name and your town, to make your question eligible to be read on the air.  Good luck!

Brie Larson

After a week of re-runs while Craig was on the road, it’s back to several weeks of all-new episodes of the Late Late Show beginning Monday with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and NFL player turned analyst  Joe Theismann.  On Tuesday, Craig welcomes actor Danny Devito actress Brie Larson and a performance by comedian Henry Cho (held over from last week).  On Wednesday, watch for actress Marg Helegenberger, and actor/comedian/musician Donald Glover.  On the lone guest on the schedule for Thursday is the subject of one of Craig’s favorite impressions, the actor Sir Michael Caine.  And on Friday, Craig chats with actor actor Jason Segal, actress Alison Brie and Australian comedian and television host Adam Hills.  And as we’ve reported here, comedian Lewis Black and the multi-talented Stephen Fry are expected on the show in the first week of November.

There was so much failing and squeeing in New York City on Saturday, the cops must have thought the place was being invaded by a Robot Skeleton Army!  Craig Ferguson delivered two sold-out shows to Carnegie Hall and performed his own special brand of comedy on one of the nation’s most important stages.  In attendance were thousands of roboskellies, cheering for our fearless leader.  Take that, other late night douchebags!  This is what a genuine group of fans looks like!

Randy Kagan, opening act and official tour photographer sent us a nice backstage picture before the show:  CF backstage at Carnegie. http://yfrog.com/ml60nwj And after his last set on Saturday night, he expressed his appreciation:  Wow. Thanks Carnegie Hall. I’m still on cloud nine.

The RSA’s General @Malinky2Stoatir got a great picture of the stage before the show:  http://twitpic.com/3098ei Some celebrities were in attendance at Carnegie Hall today.  Mal spotted the Late Late Show’s producer in the audience: Michael Naidus in the house…still in the dark. *giggling* I spoke to him because he doesn’t know me… Several roboskellies also noticed Inside The Actors Studio host and LLS guest James Lipton.

The RSA’s @Colleen_Byrne, who helped organize the #CraigyAtCarnegie tweetup send this fun detail just before the 7pm show started:  Peeps in the front row have sid, wavey, nadine puppets. Oy vey. And the RSA’s @kittenmeister got a wonderful shot of the poster out in front of the the theater:  http://twitpic.com/30bjtx

UPDATED:  The RSA’s own @SariesWick was at Saturday’s 7pm performance and got some great photos she wanted to share:  Craig 1 Craig 2 Craig 3 Craig 4 Craig  5 Craig 6 Craig 7 Craig 8 Craig 9 Craig 10 Craig 11 Craig 12 Craig 13 Craig 14 Craig 15 Craig 16 Craig 17 Craig 18 Craig 19 Craig 20 Craig 21 Craig 22 Craig 23 Craig 24 Craig 25 Craig 26 Craig 27 Craig 28 Craig 29 Craig 30 Craig 31 Craig 32 Craig 33 Craig 34 Craig 35 Craig 36 Craig 37 Craig 38 Craig 39 Craig 40 Craig 41 Craig 42 Craig 43 Craig 44 Craig 45 Craig 46 Craig 47 Craig  48 Craig 49 Craig 50 Craig 51 Craig 52 Craig 53 Craig 54 Craig 55 Craig 56 Craig 57 Craig 58 Craig 59 Craig 60 Craig 61 Craig 62 Craig 63 Craig 64 Craig 65 Craig 66 Craig 67 Craig 68 Craig 69 Craig 70

Like you, we’re hoping for more pictures and details of Saturday’s shows.  If you have photos or stories from Saturday in New York, please let us know.  We’d be happy to include them here in the next edition.  Just tweet us @RSA_News.  In the meantime, Craig, Chris, Jeff, Rebecca and Michael are all flying back to Los Angeles because there’s a television show to produce for Monday night.

Craig still has more live appearances on the calendar this year:

  • Nov 5 Balboa Theater, San Diego, CA
  • Nov 6 Fox Performing Arts Center, Riverside, CA
  • Nov 20 Polk Theater, Nashville TN
  • Dec 3 Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio CA

We’ll keep you up to date if any more show are added and give you a head start to seeing Craig live, “in your region”.

Also on Craig’s calendar is an appearance on stage for a Conversation with Lewis Black at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles at 7pm on Tuesday, November 2nd.  That is also Election Day, so they’ll have plenty to talk about.  And Lewis will be appearing on the Late Late Show that same night… so they’ll tape the LLS in the afternoon, do the live event in the evening and then the show will air late that night.  Expect many jokes about the time warp.

Saturday, October 23rd is Canned Food Day, Soccer Player Day and Stay Up Late Day (in honor of Johnny Carson‘s birthday).  Sunday, October 24th is United Nations Day, National Crazy Day and National Mother-In-Law’s Day.  Could those last two be connected?  The 24th is also Bologna Day and Nachos Day.  Nom nom!

A special thank you to all of our contributors for their stories, tweets, pictures and behind-the-scenes information that we get to pass along to the RSA.  And thank you to everyone who takes the time to stop by the website each day.  We’re proud to serve you!

Craig was on stage at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut Friday night and will appear on the stage at Carnegie Hall in New York on Saturday.  He retweeted a couple of fan tweets from his New Jersey show on Thursday:  “@xxhalestorm: @CraigyFerg was absolutely fanfuckingtastic. i like cussing, too.”kids say the darndest things. Thanks NJ. // “@NaughtyyNayy: I think that @CraigyFerg is one of the hottest old men alive!:)” enough with the compliments. Really. He also commented on the National League championship series:  Well look at you Phillies. I thought the 7th inning drag queen was going to be the big surprise of the night.

Craig’s opening act Randy Kagan is our dealer for great photos from the tour, including this one:  Boss onstage in CT. http://yfrog.com/5rxstj He sent another fun shot:  Hot twins at show. http://yfrog.com/bcx2bej And a classic backstage pic:  Dos Douche bags. State Theatre NJ. http://yfrog.com/08jptgj The folks at the theater in New Jersey where Craig appeared on Thursday were grateful as well:  @CraigyFerg Thanks for a great show last night! Come back soon! -State Theatre staff

We’ve been talking about Craig’s Carnegie Hall shows in New York City  for months and the day is finally here.  When tweeting about the show, tweeters have been hashtagging with #CraigyAtCarnegie.  The RSA’s esteemed General @Malinky2Stoatir has prepared a seating chart for Craig’s 7pm performance:  Seating chart for Carnegie Hall 7pm gig #RSA #CraigFerguson http://twitpic.com/2zsmdf Mal says there were weren’t enough responses to make a chart for the 2pm show.  But no matter which show you’re seeing (or for that matter neither of them), you can still meet some fellow roboskeletons between Craig’s shows on Saturday at an RSA tweetup at the Carnegie Deli on 7th Avenue and 55th Street at 4:30pm.  Please tweet @Colleen_Byrne if you have any questions about the tweetup.

DVR Alert:  Roboskellies in the Los Angeles area will soon get a taste of the British television show Doc Martin, which was based on Craig Ferguson’s movie Saving Grace.  The show will be broadcast Sunday nights on KCET, as the LA Times explains.

Geoff Petersen had another idea for Halloween:  For Halloween, maybe I’ll just wear a Speedo. I’m sure I can borrow one @craigyferg isn’t using. …In his pants!

Friday night on the Late Late Show, it’s a rebroadcast of the September 22nd episode featuring the cast of The Big Bang Theory, without Kaley Cuoco who was at home recovering from a broken leg.  The show includes interviews, tweet-mails, a Star Trek sketch and more.  All new episodes of the Late Late Show resume on Monday.  One blogger reports that the band Stackridge will be taping a segment of the show in the studio on Monday although their air date has not yet been scheduled.  We’ll keep an eye on them and let you know.  We’ll post next week’s complete guest list in Monday’s edition.
