The Atlantic takes apart the late night talk show hosts. Why? We’re not really sure.
Geoff Petersen is nervous about the show:Â Why am I so nervous about meeting Rosie Perez tonight? My bones are rattling. Ding dong!
Thursday on the Late Late Show, the funny and in-your-face actress Rosie Perez keeps Craig on his toes and CF meets UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. On Friday, the schedules originally listed actor Ewan McGregor but the most recent schedules show Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actor Billy Gardell. LLS producer Michael Naidus says McGregor will appear sometime soon. We’ll keep you posted.
Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker expressed the thoughts of many on this Veterans Day/Remembrance Day:Â I heart soldiers. Thanks for all you do! (two of my favorite guys from Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo) http://twitpic.com/35wgrr
Craig will be taking his obsession with “production assistant” Bridger Winegar to new heights on Tuesday’s Late Late Show. Bridger tweeted first: If you’re more interested in me as a MAN than as a tweeter, feel free to watch tonight’s THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH @CRAIGYFERG. And Craig added: On the show tonight @bridger_w reveals why he’s the world’s sexiest man. Pixilation cannot conceal his majesty We can only imagine.
Craig’s opening act on the road, comedian Randy Kagan, headlines shows around the country as well. This week, he’s doing six shows near Chicago at a club ins St. Charles, IL, with one show Wednesday and Thursday and two shows Friday and Saturday.
The RSA’s @beanonacracker had a chance to see Craig live twice last week, first with Lewis Black in Los Angeles and later for his stand up comedy show in San Diego. She blogs about both shows and has pictures of Craig and Lewis and one of Chris dancing.
If you want to be on the #CraigInNashville seating chart(s), tweet @HMSFox, and if you want to be on the head-count list for Nashville tweetups, tweet @NancyInTampa or @Colleen_Byrne. Also, if you’re in Nashville you may have a chance to meet the RSA’s @tzankoff and his creation, @FergyBot4000, who tweeted: I have just been informed that I will be going to Nashville. I look forward to meeting other #RSA members. Woohoo! *fist pump…sort of*
Geoff Petersen got in a couple of late shots Tuesday night: Wonder if Wolfgang Puck will make miniburgers. I heard something backstage about checking out those tiny buns. Oo-lala, splash. // I’m hoping the CBS censors let you see The Fergermeister roll his biiiigg streudel tonight on @craigyferg And he tweeted about Wednesday’s show: @therealstanlee will be here soon to be on the show with Mr @craigyferg! Is see great things. The Adventures of Skelly-Man. Marvelous!
On Wednesday’s Late Late Show, Craig’s guests are actor Tim Meadows and comic book creator Stan Lee, who may have more to say about his POW! Brigade of Twitter followers and the rivalry with Craig’s Robot Skeleton Army. LLS assistant producer Andrea Wayland tweeted: Tim Meadows explains a LOT of things tonight on the show that make SO MUCH SENSE!! Be sure to watch. And on Thursday, Craig welcomes actress Rosie Perez and UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Friday’s schedule has now been updated to included Dancing With The StarsCarrie Ann Inaba and actor Billy Gardell. We’ll let you know when Ewan McGregor is rescheduled.

It was a valiant effort, but a stream of RSA tweets and write-in votes weren’t enough this time. Craig Ferguson was not among the top five nominees for Favorite Talk Show Host in the People’s Choice Awards. Because they were not in the top 12 in ratings in their category, neither Craig nor Jimmy Fallon were listed on the nominations ballot, which meant it would have taken a massive write-in vote to crack the top five. Those nominated included Chelsea Handler, Conan Oâ€Brien, Ellen Degeneres, George Lopez and Oprah Winfrey. We’d guess that since Conan’s new show is generating a lot of excitement and because this is Oprah’s last season, those two may have the best chance this year. The People’s Choice Award winners will be unveiled at the awards ceremony on CBS January 5th.
The RSA’s @SexyCraigFerg makes a good point:  Well at least HTTYD and KickAss are both nominated… You can still show some Craigy love by voting for both of those films until December 7th. How To Train Your Dragon is nominated for Best Family Movie and Kick Ass is nominated for Best Action Movie, both of which feature Craig.
And if you are in a voting mood, you can still nominate Craig for a Mashable.com award for “Must-Follow Personality“. First round voting continues through November 29. When the top five names are announced, final voting runs from December 1st through the 15th. Winners will be announced January 6th.
If you enjoyed the podcast of Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show with Craig, you might want to put in a vote for the show in the podcast awards, perhaps as best video podcast or in the entertainment category.
Are you going to Nashville to see Craig live on stage November 20th? The RSA’s @HMSFoxis putting together a seating chart. If you’d like to be included, just tweet her with show time, seat number and whether you want your Twitter name indicated next to your seat. She is also helping to organize tweetups in Nashville. More details about specific dates and times are coming soon. And of course if you have a review, blog or still pictures from a live show you’d like to share with the rest of the RSA, please let us know. Tweet us any time @RSA_News. Craig confirmed Monday that he is taping a new comedy special in Nashville. A few tickets remain for both the 7pm and 9:45pm shows.
On Tuesday’s Late Late Show, Craig talks with actress Cheryl Hines and lets chef Wolfgang Puck boss him around. On Wednesday, Craig welcomes actor Tim Meadows and comic book creator Stan Lee.
An all new, fresh bunch of Craigy goodness is headed our way, complete with a monologue, some tweets and emails, guests and a chance to find out what we learned on the show after watching an animated cat do something silly. Does network television get any better than this?
And isn’t about time for Craig to host another awards show? He hosted the People’s Choice Awards back in 2006. His opening monologue was great; filled with some personal stories about being a celebrity in Hollywood! And this year, could Craig be nominated for a People’s Choice Award himself?
We were finally able to track down the folks at the People’s Choice Awards to clarify how the voting process works. If you’re like us, you noticed the website wasn’t exactly clear, and it and it turned out to be pretty complicated:
What happened first: From Sep 20 – Oct 1, fans could vote on what new categories they wanted to add. Several were added, including ones like “sexiest TV doctor” (ladies, who votes for Hugh Laurie for that one?).
What happened next: From Oct 18 – Oct 29, fans could vote on who should be nominated for the award. Two things happened there:
In the “Talk Show Host” category, PCA officials told us Craig Ferguson and Jimmy Fallon were not included because they didn’t have sufficient television ratings… the hosts (or group of hosts of a single show) listed were the top twelve by rating. Conan O’Brien was on the list, perhaps because of his Tonight Show ratings before being released by NBC because his new show on TBS hadn’t yet started; and
Many media outlets thought that the fan nominating timeline ran through November 9th because that was the only other date mentioned on the site. We did too, based on the available information and we regret the error.. nominating ended on Oct 29.
What happens now: Beginning Tuesday, November 9th and running until Tuesday, December 7th, fans can vote from among the five nominees (finalists) in each category. The winners will be announced on the live awards show on CBS on January 5th.
We will watch the PCA website to see if Craig makes the top five and we’ll let you know. If he does, the RSA can make a strong effort to vote, if he doesn’t… he already has a Peabody Award. Take that, awards show people!
UPDATE 10:00am PT: Craig was not among the top five nominees for Favorite Talk Show Host in the People’s Choice Awards. Due to PCA minimum requirements, neither Craig nor Jimmy Fallon were listed on the nominations ballot, which meant it would have taken a massive write-in vote to crack the top five. Those nominated included Chelsea Handler, Conan O”Brien, Ellen Degeneres, George Lopez and Oprah Winfrey.
We’d guess that since Conan’s new show is generating a lot of excitement and because this is Oprah’s last season, those two may have the best chance this year. The People’s Choice Award winners will be unveiled at the awards ceremony on January 5th.
The RSA’s own @SariesWick attended Craig’s show in Riverside on Saturday night. Just like she did in New York last month, she had the chance to take pictures of Craig on stage. We’ve included some of them here, with many thanks to Sara.
Geoff Petersen has been asking for viewer suggestions for new ways to introduce tweetmails: Things for a Robot Skelly Sidekick 2 do on a Sat pm. Come up w/ some fun ways to intro Tweetmails when @craigyferg sez What time is it, G P? And apparently, he likes what he has seen so far: My Tweeps are coming up w/ suggestions. Some delish enuf to use… Oh my!!! If you have a suggestion, tweet it directly to @GeoffTheRobot. On Friday Geoff had a good time: @grantimahara was just here in the @craigyferg studio . He measured my inseam and tightened my nuts! Best damn checkup of my life!! On Sunday he relaxed: Ideal Sunday nite. Sherlock and tweet dreams of tomorrow’s @craigyferg show with hunkalicious Mr Tom Selleck. Say it with me: Oh my… And Monday, he was feeling good: This studio is freezing. My nuts are cold, my teeth are chattering, and my bones are shaking. Best damn weekend of my life!
LLS assistant producer Andrea Wayland is having a fun Tuesday night:Â Tonight I’m gonna rock my socks off tonight at the Florence & the Machine show. Anyone else?

Craig appeared on the CBS daytime show The Talk Monday. Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker sent a photo: Backstage at The Talk. http://twitpic.com/3549tq Perhaps the monitor in the green room?
The RSA’s General @Malinky2Stoatir was on the spot as always and posted the clip:

As we have reported, Craig is taping a new stand up special based on his live tour when he appears in Nashville on November 20th. He tweeted this: To those who asked : yes I am shooting a new stand up special in Nashville on Nov 20. To those who didn’t ask: I refuse to answer. Thanks, Craig! We’re told that a few tickets for each of the two shows are still available.

The field of late night shows grew one larger Monday night, as Conan O’Brien debuted his new show on TBS, which some say could have an impact on cable as well as evening viewing habits… while others say… maybe not.
Last week, the Toronto Sun asked which late night host you liked the most. Although most the comments on that November 3rd article seemed to be about Craig, the Sun really wanted to write an article about Conan O’Brien’s new show and how great Johnny Carson was… so they did. National Public Radio also asked for tweets about favorite late night hosts over the weekend and many roboskellies put in a good word for our fearless leader.
On Monday’s Late Late Show, Craig welcomes actor Tom Selleck and comedian Myq Kaplan. On Tuesday, actress Cheryl Hines and chef Wolfgang Puck will be Craig’s guests.
Friday’s guest list is in flux. Will it be the previously rumored Ewan McGregor? Will it be Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and/or actor Billy Gardell, who is also listed as a guest in the studio for a taping this week? We’ll pass it on as soon as we know.
Craig is back in LA after a pair of stand up comedy shows, with only a few shows left for 2010. As soon as we hear of any dates being booked in 2011, we’ll let you know. We’ve heard rumors that roboskellies have words and pictures to share, so watch for them here late Monday night.
Reminder: Craig appears Monday on the CBS daytime show The Talk. Check local listings for the time “in your region”.
In case you missed it a few months back, one of the best interviews of Craig Ferguson ever was conducted by actor/comedian Kevin Pollak on his internet-based Chat Show. The show always opens with 10-15 minutes of Kevin chatting about what’s been happening in his life, then moves on to the guest… in this case, a nearly 90-minute conversation. They covered a wide range of topics and we got a great sense of Craig a litte more “raw” than usual, not only in his accent and language but in his openness about his life and career. Enjoy.

The RSA’s @Colleen_Byrne spotted this: Heads up! Craig’s interview on Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show is available on DVD on Amazon for $10. http://amzn.to/bG0lVT And she found a great blog that features Craig and Kevin as interviewers worth watching: Really nice blog post re Craig, Kevin Pollak, Adam Carolla as new kings of talk shows: http://bit.ly/bCJ6Hu
Stan Lee
It’s another week of all-new episodes of the Late Late Show headed our way. Up first on Monday is actor Tom Selleck and a performance by comedian Myq Kaplan. On Tuesday, Craig chats with actress Cheryl Hines and cooks up some fun with chef Wolfgang Puck. On Wednesday, Craig will welcome actor Tim Meadows and comic book creator (and leader of the POW! Brigade, rivals of the Robot Skeleton Army on Twitter) Stan Lee. On Thursday, it’s actress Rosie Perez and UFC fighter Rampage Jackson. And on Friday, the lone guest has been tentatively listed as actor Ewan McGregor. We’ll try to confirm that and let you know.
Craig was in Riverside, California Saturday night for a stand up comedy performance. We hope to post any reader pictures or stories from the weekend late Monday night. His next live appearance will be November 20th, in Nashville, where his shows will be taped for an upcoming comedy special and DVD. We’re told that both shows are nearly sold out. Craig will also be in Indio, CA on December 3rd, which appears to be his final live show for 2010.
Craig’s opening act, Randy Kagan will appear in St. Charles, IL November 10-13.
DVR Alert: Craig will appear as a guest on the new CBS daytime talk show The Talk on Monday, November 8. Check local listings for the time “in your region”. Craig is also expected as a guest on Lopez Tonight on TBS on Tuesday, November 16.
Since politics have been on people’s minds this week, we thought it would be a good time to re-post Craig’s speech at the White House correspondent’s dinner a couple of years ago. Craig is entertaining but also gets in a few shots as the assembled politicians, government officials and media. He is an American “on purpose” after all.

Saturday, November 6th is the halfway point of autumn, Basketball Day and Marching Band Day. Sunday, November 7th is Notary Public Day, Hug A Bear Day and Magazine (those sort of glossy, papery blogs) Day. Also, Daylight Saving Time ends late Saturday night/early Sunday morning in the US and Canada. “Fall back” by setting your clocks back one hour. Unless of course you live in the State of Arizona (except the Navajo Reservation) or most of Saskatchewan or parts of British Columbia… which don’t observe daylight time. Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?
Craig performed his stand up comedy in San Diego Friday night and heads to Riverside, CA Saturday. We’ll post any pictures or stories we receive from RSA members late Monday night.
Have we ever posted this commercial from Craig’s Drew Carey Show days? Even if we did, we can’t pass up doing it again.

Craig also appeared on the Country Music Awards a couple of years ago. His promo with singer Reba McEntire was memorable, if “short”.

And when Craig hosted the Superbowl, he proved he was number one:

Friday on the Late Late Show, Craig welcomes singer/actress Juliette Lewis and author/philosopher Cornel West.
Remember, Daylight Saving Time ends late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night (technically at 2:00am Sunday morning, but who’s counting?).
