Television producer Hart Hanson, upon seeing Craig‘s new Twitter avatar, remarked:  I do believe that @craigyferg should appear in all sword-and-horse operas. To which Craig replied:  I agree. Where’s my tights? Where’s my whip? Craig also tweeted: http://yfrog.com/jypfgej This is really happening @ Hollywood Pk racetrack in LA on Friday. *proud* We’ll let you decide for yourself who’d win that race.

There’s still no sign of the unaired Doctor Who musical number that had been planned for Tuesday night.  #LeakTheClip

We’re just a short time away from Craig’s Nashville shows on Saturday night.  His assistant, Rebecca Tucker is getting ready:  I think packing three pairs of cowboy boots for Nashville is overkill. But I’m bringing them all anyway.

Don’t forget if you’re going to be in Nashville this weekend, you can see the RSA’s “other” robot skeleton before the first show or after the second, thanks to @tzankoff.  The seating charts for both shows are being compiled by @HMSFox.  Tweetups are being arranged by @Colleen_Byrne and @NancyInTampa.  And don’t forget about us… if you have pictures, stories, blogs or anything else (except videos… those are a no-no), please let us know and we’d be happy to share them with the rest of the RSA.  Just tweet us @RSA_News.

The RSA’s @love_loud_music and @normaapril had their questions read on the show Wednesday night.  College is a good thing and we’re guessing the guest list for the royal wedding will be very long indeed!  Keep those questions coming.  Send them directly to @CraigyFerg and maybe your question will be asked on the air sometime soon.

Geoff Petersen may be having issues with the Dalek:  Oh my, Daleks are so ruuudde. This one needs to screen the CBS harrassment video. Do the math.

Thursday night on the Late Late Show, actor Jeff Goldblum (bumped from Tuesday night’s show) and author Dennis Lehane are now the listed guests.  We’re told actor Mark Ruffalo will be rescheduled next Tuesday, and Dr. Lisa Masterson (bumped from Wednesday night) will appear next Monday.  On Friday (barring any unforseen bumping), Craig will talk with actress/comedienne Amy Sedaris and from the Discovery Channel show Mythbusters, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman.  The Mythbusters official Twitter account tweeted:   Jamie & @donttrythis [Adam] + @CraigyFerg (Friday) = Awesome

It was a fun Doctor Who special Tuesday night, as a big new audience of Whovians had a chance to experience the wonder that is Craig Ferguson and the Late Late Show.  The interview with Matt Smith, tweetmails with Chris Hardwick and a Dalek on the set all contributed to a festive atmosphere.  The show opened and closed with Craig’s disappointment that the network was unable to secure the rights to the Doctor Who theme song to use for a musical number.  But Craig did say on the show that perhaps the pre-taped dance segment might be leaked on the internet at some point.  We haven’t seen it yet but we’ll keep our eyes open.  Thanks to the RSA’s @ScottishConan for capturing the freeze-frame high five:  Freeze-frame high five! #CraigFerguson http://twitpic.com/37k88t

Britain’s Daily Mail had fun with Matt Smith’s appearance on Tuesday’s Late Late Show.  Ken Tucker of Entertainment Weekly enjoyed it and so did USA Today.  Thanks to the RSA’s @robinsandyson for sending us that link.

TVSquad.com goes more in-depth about the Doctor Who special being planned for Christmas Day on BBC America, as does digitaljournal.com.

Matt Smith’s appearance on the @Nerdist podcast is expected to be posted Sunday or Monday, according to Chris Hardwick’s tweet, where he also promoted the Tardis vs. DeLorean t-shirt he wore on the LLS:  Matt Smith podcast goes up Monday! (possibly Sunday) Delorean crashing into TARDIS shirt was purchased on @woot: http://afx.cc/kec#answers

Utah’s Salt Lake Tribune talks about the filming of a portion of an upcoming Doctor Who episode at Monument Valley.

A blog on Canada’s Macleans magazine website comments on Bill Carter‘s book on late night hosts, mostly to talk about Jay Leno but compliments Craig along the way.

When William Shatner appeared a few weeks ago on the Late Late Show to promote his new CBS sitcom, he brought along a video camera.  In this clip, we get to see a little bit behind the scenes for a moment before and just after what actually aired that night.

Craig will be in Nashville, Tennessee for two stand up comedy performances on Saturday, November 20th.  The RSA’s @tzankoff will be bringing along @Fergybot4000 to meet and greet folks before the first show and after the second.  Follow either of their Twitter accounts for details about where and when you can see the RSA’s “other” robot.  Meanwhile, @HMSFox is finishing up seating charts for both shows… tweet her if you’d like to be included.  And @Colleen_Byrne and @NancyInTampa are working on the tweetup(s).  Tweet them for details if you’d like to get together with your fellow robot skeletons this weekend.

On Wednesday’s Late Late Show, Craig welcomes actor Russell Crowe and from the daytime TV program The Doctors, OB/GYN Dr. Lisa Masterson.  On Thursday, the Late Late Show website now lists actor Jeff Goldblum, who was bumped Tuesday night amid all of the Doctor Who festivities.  It’s possible that actor Mark Ruffalo and author Dennis Lehane, who were originally scheduled for Thursday will also appear… or one or both may be moved to another night.  We’ll pass it along as soon as we know.

Doctor Who mania takes over the American airwaves tonight, as the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson gives viewers a chance to meet the eleventh actor to play the role of the Doctor in the long-running British cult science fiction show.  Matt Smith takes over the role from David Tennant, continuing a tradition of the many actors and writers who have put their spin on the now legendary program.  How to begin the show?  Craig gave us a hint:  Would it be so wrong to add some words to the DrWho theme tune and turn it into a little dance number with puppets? Just for 1 night. He also included a preview picture:  http://yfrog.com/jxfupgj A couple of friends drop by for the show tonight. Should be a larf.

As we saw Monday night, Craig has a Dalek in the studio, one of the alien robots that first appeared in the original series which ran from 1963 to 1989. The term “Dalek” was trending on Twitter Monday night, lending proof of the combined power of Whovians and the Robot Skeleton Army.  Thanks to the RSA’s @Fergasm for capturing the screen.  Tuesday night’s show will be a fun one.  Many media sources, including UPI have picked up on the story.  And even Geoff Petersen quipped:  Well Hellll-ooo, Dalek! Matt Smith will also be appearing on the @Nerdist podcast soon, since he was in town.  Chris Hardwick tweeted about the taping of Tuesday’s LLS:  Gah!!! @CraigyFerg‘s Doctor Who-themed show was MINDBLOWINGLY fun!! Matt Smith FTW! Airs tonight! Thanks, Craig! #whosonfergs

Craig appeared on Lopez Tonight on Monday night.  In case you missed it, the always vigilant RSA General @Malinky2Stoatir captured the moment:

The online newspaper Examiner seized on George’s idea to swap shows with Craig for a night.

The student newspaper at the University of California, Riverside reviewed Craig’s recent stand up comedy performance at the Fox Performing Arts Center.

The Star Tribune newspaper in Minneapolis says the Washington Post TV critic Tom Shales’ assessment of late night television is a bit too bleak, and compliments Craig in the process.

Tonight on the Late Late Show, actor Jeff Goldblum is Craig’s guest, along with the Doctor Who special night featuring actor Matt Smith and the @Nerdist Chris Hardwick.  On Wednesday, Craig welcomes actor Russell Crowe and daytime TV host from The Doctors, Dr. Lisa Masterson.  Crowe tweeted:  LA screening tonight.Ellen this afternoon.Mad scotsman tomorrow.Tokyo sunday. Any tips for Tokyo?

UPDATED DVR Alert: Craig appears on Lopez Tonight MONDAY NIGHT November 15 (early Tuesday morning if you prefer) at midnight ET/PT on TBS after Conan. Check local listings for the time “in your region”.  Craig had originally been scheduled to appear on Tuesday night the 16th but was moved up.   His assistant, Rebecca Tucker confirmed it via Twitter: Tune in tonight to see Craig on Lopez Tonight! TBS at midnight! And the change is echoed on the show’s website.  That means Craig will be “live” on two shows at once?  Ah, the magic of television.

Meanwhile, more fresh episodes are coming our way this week and lots of segments are beging taped at CBS Television City.  The Late Late Show crew may be working a couple of Fridays in the next few weeks as the holidays approach, to stockpile as many fresh segments as possible.  We’ll probably see a mixture of new episodes and some encore performances over the next seven weeks as Craig and company take time off to be with family during the holiday season.

The website sodahead.com is doing a poll about which late night talk show host should quit, giving choices of Leno, Letterman, Daly and O’Brien.  As the RSA’s @HMSFox noticed, Craig is not on their list of choices, and that a number of the comments about Craig are positive.  Feel free to add your two cents to their comments.  We also noticed that Craig is not a choice in George Lopez’s poll for which late night host has the best hair.

Did Dancing With The Stars judge and 1 vs. 100 host Carrie Ann Inaba enjoy being on the Late Late Show on Friday?:  Thanks #craigyferg 4 REALLY fun interview.Had wonderful time on yr show.Secretariat is my favorite next2 awkward pose 🙂

Several members of our RSA family will be in Nashville this weekend for Craig’s pair of live stand up appearances Saturday night, which will be recorded for a DVD and possible cable television special.  If you want to be on the #CraigInNashville seating chart(s), tweet @HMSFox, and if you want to be on the head-count list for Nashville tweetups, tweet @NancyInTampa or @Colleen_Byrne.  Also, if you’re in Nashville you may have a chance to meet the RSA’s @tzankoff and his creation, @FergyBot4000.   It should be a fun weekend in Music City, USA.  If you can’t make it to Nashville, Craig has one more 2010 live appearance scheduled for December 3rd in Indio, California.  Note:  RSA ticket flogger extraordinaire @bgrhubarb tells us the first Nashville show is sold out and there are only a handful of tickets remaining for the second.  Book early to avoid disappointment!

Tonight on the Late Late Show, Craig laughs along with comedian Dennis Miller and actress Bianca Kajlich, who tweeted:  ps- catch me tonight on the Late Late show with the equally delicious @craigyferg On Tuesday, it’s a Doctor Who-themed show, featuring actor Matt Smith and special guest, the @Nerdist Chris Hardwick and as Craig himself tweeted, a Dalek!  The show opening, monologue and more will be part of the fun.  Actor Jeff Goldblum is also scheduled to be on the show.  As Geoff Petersen put it:  Whomania grips all@craigyferg. Dare I say, woo-Who?

Update:  Co-host of the daytime show The Doctors Lisa Masterson has been confirmed for Wednesday night.  We’ll let you know when Elizabeth Banks will return.

We’ve also been peeking ahead at the future guest list.  There are some very nice names including singer/actress Julie Andrews, actor Michael Sheen, author Salman Rushdie, the always entertaining Kristen Bell, journalist Richard Wolffe, actress Carrie Fisher, actress Jane Fonda and masterful talk show host Dick Cavett… we can’t wait for that show.  We’ll keep you posted as the actual appearance dates are nailed down.

Google searches can be a wonderful thing.  We started poking around to see what the media were saying about Craig when he first started hosting the Late Late Show on January 3rd, 2005.  We came up with a pair of great articles.  One is a syndicated piece from Knight-Ridder newspapers, focusing on Craig and his style of actually listening to his guests, the other is a New York Times profile of Late Late Show Executive Producer Peter Lassally, who understood what a uniquely talented man he found to host the show.

The Detroit Free Press reviewed some late night hosts, including Craig.

Entertainment Weekly‘s take on Conan’s first week includes some nice things about Craig.

When you make your robot skeleton gear purchase at the RSA Store, all proceeds go to charity. Last month for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, that charity was Susan G. Komen for the Cure. For November, store operator @Colleen_Byrne tells us the charity will be Habitat for Humanity. Show off your RSA spirit and help those in need at the same time.

On Friday, Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker made lemons out of lemonade:  Car is being washed for 1st time in a year. Good news is that I found some missing girl scout cookies in the back seat!

After Sunday’s power outages at the New Meadlowlands Stadium during the Cowboys-Giants game, Geoff Petersen just couldn’t resist tweeting:  For my tweeps watching Giants-Cowboys in the New Meadowlands… I guess I’m not the only appliance that can be unplugged.

DVR Alert:  Craig will be interviewed by George Lopez on Lopez Tonight on TBS Tuesday night (midnight ET).  Check your local listings for the time “in your region”.

Matt Smith

Are you ready for another week of all new episodes of the Late Late Show? So are we!  On Monday, Craig welcomes comedian Dennis Miller and actress Bianca Kajlich.  On Tuesday, watch for actor Jeff Goldblum and the newest Doctor Who, actor Matt Smith along with special guest, the @Nerdist, Chris Hardwick.  On Wednesday, actor Russell Crowe will be in the studio.  Wednesday’s schedules conflict about the other guest.  It may be either perennial favorite, actress Elizabeth Banks or from the daytime TV show The Doctors, OB/GYN Dr. Lisa Masterson, of whom Craig may have a few timely questions.  We’d guess that if one appears on Wednesday, the other will probably be rescheduled for later in the month.  On Thursday, the schedule lists actor Mark Ruffalo and entrepreneur and author Dennis Lehane.  And finally on Friday, Craig welcomes the always quirky comedic actress/author Amy Sedaris and the Mythbusters, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman.

Her segment had been taped quite a while ago.  She had been tentatively scheduled to appear at least a couple of times.  Then last Friday, the LLS snuck in that powerful performance by musician Bettye Lavette without mentioning it beforehand.  Even if it’s a last-minute change, we’ll do our best to promote it like crazy.  We promise!

Two still frames from the new Disney Winnie the Pooh film have been released, to give viewers a closer look at the artwork, which is said to have been modeled closely after the much-loved earlier films. Craig will be the voice of Owl in the movie, which will be released in the summer of 2011.

A reviewer in Spokane, Washington’s Northern Pacific Inlander says Conan O’Brien isn’t the “most absurd” late night host… that title goes to Craig.

Geoff Petersen is looking for #songtitlesinyourpants

In May of 2008, Craig talked about his book on the Ellen show.

For a parting shot about Daylight Saving Time, the RSA’s @Fergufool found a great Craig clip that says it all:

Saturday, November 13 is World Kindness Day and the birthday of author Robert Louis Stevenson. And Sunday, November 14 is Remembrance Day in the United Kingdom. Remembrance Day in the UK is marked on the Sunday closest to November 11th and is analogous to Armistice Day/Veterans Day in the US, marking the end of hostilities in World War I and by extension, honoring veterans of all wars.

The Doctor Who special being planned for the Late Late Show on November 16th just keeps getting better. Along with the newest actor tapped to play the good doctor, Matt Smith, Craig has invited the @Nerdist, Chris Hardwick to take part in the geek fest. And today, Craig tweeted another treat: Confirmed Dalek for Dr Who special on Tues 16. For those who don’t know Daleks are bitter grumpy aliens. Remind you of anyone? We’re wondering if the stage crew is building a Tardis just for fun. Mark it on your calendars and get ready to geek out.

Update: Chris Hardwick wants to know what Doctor Who t-shirt he should wear on Tuesday’s show… either one already out there or a newly-designed one.  Here is his tweet with the link:  Doctor Who shirt contest! I will wear the winning Who-themed shirt on @CraigyFerg‘s show Tuesday! http://afx.cc/whoshirt #WhosOnFergs

Want your tweet read on television by Craig himself? Remember to tweet your question directly to @CraigyFerg. Does it work? Ask the RSA’s @annabug17, @bgrhubarb, @normaapril and @003lili all had their questions read on last Friday’s show alone. The RSA’s @HMSFox thinks that four roboskelly tweets in one night is a record and she may be right. Craig really does read real questions from real viewers!

A reviewer at San Diego State University’s student newspaper enjoyed Craig’s show last week.

If you’re around Chicago Friday or Saturday, you can catch Randy Kagan live on stage in St. Charles.

In the early days of Craig’s run on the Late Late Show, CBS gave us a behind-the-scenes peek at the show. This particular day included a taping with actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

On Friday’s Late Late Show, Craig chats with Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actor Billy Gardell. Some early schedules had listed Ewan McGregor for tonight. We’ll let you know when he is rescheduled.
