Fans of the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon are watching Thursday night’s shows to see what the two rival hosts are getting each other for Christmas.  Craig tweeted:  I sent a friend to deliver my Xmas gift to @jimmyfallon on his show 2nite [Thursday]. His gift to me on my show 2nite. #(latenight)warisoverifyouwantit LLS producer Michael Naidus tweeted as well:  A very large box for Craig has arrived with a postmark of Rockefeller Center. What could it be?  Even CBS publicist Katie Barker added:  Santa Claus is coming to town for @CraigyFerg & @JimmyFallon. Tune-in to the shows tonight to see what is exchanged.

Does Craig read his tweets?  Apparently so.  On Thursday, a fan named @kadontherock tweeted:  dear Mr. F., what is the answer to life, universe and everything? Khadi, London UK Moments later, Craig replied:  42 Nice Douglas Adams reference there, Mr. F.

Our fearless leader also tweeted some words of advice Wednesday night:  Just a reminder. Intellect & romance over brute force & cynicism. #fuckyallhaters.

The first of Craig’s 2011 live stand up appearances has been announced.  He’ll be appearing at the Comedy Works in Denver, March 16th and 17th.  Since it’s a club appearance rather than large venue, could it be that he’s trying out new material for the new year?  Tickets are already on sale.  It’s a chance to see Craig a little closer than usual.

TV weatherman Al Roker has written a new novel that includes a character loosely based on Craig Ferguson.  As Long Island’s Newsday reports, the character gets blown up in the story but Roker says he’s a fan.

Australia’s Sky.com mentions Kirsten Dunst‘s appearance on the LLS.

On Thursday’s show, Craig interviews actor/producer Seth Green and actress Lena Dunham.  Green tweeted:  On @CraigyFerg tonite- so jealous of the greenroom decor http://twitpic.com/3gkmye Musician Ruth Gerson has been rescheduled for next week.  On Friday, watch for actor/comedian Billy Connolly and comedienne Maria Bamford.

Some alert roboskellies have noticed that the opening segment of the November 22nd Late Late Show has disappeared from YouTube.  It appears that Jaques “Arthur” Essbag has filed a copyright claim with YouTube over the use of the opening title sequence from his show Ce soir avec Arthur.  Although ironic, he would be within his rights as the copyright holder of that particular portion of the show to ask YouTube to remove the postings, which they have done… at least for RSA General @Malinky2Stoatir‘s channel and CBS‘s official YT channel.  There are a handful of other postings from other users still visible on YouTube, including a few from France.

Just so everyone is clear, no one is suing Mal or CBS, so rallying the RSArmy is probably not needed.  In our opinion, while Arthur technically can file the claim, it’s not very nice considering the attention it brought him.

USA Today’s Pop Candy entertainment blog has named its “100 People of 2010”, including assistant Rebecca Tucker‘s boss, as she tweeted: Check out #30! http://tinyurl.com/2a4dhdx

LLS assistant producer Andrea Wayland enjoyed a taste of the Midwest today:  Gino’s pizza for lunch and Sprinkles cupcakes for dessert….oh happy day! // For all those asking, it’s Gino’s East – straight from Chicago. http://www.ginoseast.com/

As the RSA’s @SexyCraigFerg spotted, Craig is mentioned favorably in Canada.com‘s “Nice” list for 2010.

Wednesday on the Late Late Show, Craig meets Nick Lachey and welcomes back magician Jamy Ian Swiss, whom CF promoted in a tweet:  The astounding @jamyianswiss is on the show tonight. His tricks boggle my mind. #thingsyoucouldalsosayaboutmaleprostitutes #LeTitsNow On Thursday, Craig’s guests are actor/producer Seth Green, actress Lena Dunham and musician Ruth Gerson.

He enjoyed Chris Hardwick‘s tweet:  Love it “@nerdist: I am tickled that so many people read my wintery #letitsnow hashtag as “Le Tits Now.” #LeTitsNow Even if the weather outside is frightful, guys?  And he also re-retweeted Kristen Bell‘s appeal:  PLS RT! Entertainment Weekly reports that Jimmy Kimmel has signed for two more years of hosting on ABC.  Although none we’ve seen have been specific, various sources including the New York Times have reported that both David Letterman and Craig Ferguson remain under contract until some time (possibly August) in 2012, which means the late-night landscape should remain stable for at least a while longer.

This is the final week of taping in 2010 for episodes of the Late Late Show at CBS Television City.  The entire crew will be taking the following two weeks off for the holidays.  However, they have been stashing away interviews, sketches and monologues so there will still be fresh, new shows through December 23rd.  The show will not air on Christmas Eve and we’re expecting a visit from the re-run fairy December 27-31 before new episodes resume on January 3rd.  As a reminder, this might be a great week to send in your email or Twitter questions to Craig because they’ll be taping a bunch of tweet-mail segments.

Alison Becker

As for this week, it’s another week of all-new episodes starting Monday with actor Tom Arnold, actress/comedienne Alison Becker and the team from the CBS Early Show: Erica Hill, Chris Wragge, Jeff Glor and Marysol Castro.  On Tuesday, Craig welcomes actress Kirsten Dunst and comedian Greg Proops.  Wednesday, it’s former celebrity husband/singer turned TV personality Nick Lachey and magician Jamy Ian Swiss who last appeared on “Magic Week” a few months ago.  Thursday’s scheduled guests are actor/producer Seth Green, actress Lena Dunham and music by Ruth Gerson.  Finally, get ready to laugh on Friday when Craig talks with actor/comedian Billy Connolly, and comedienne Maria Bamford.

After hearing about the taping at Hollywood Park racetrack a couple of weeks ago, the hollowed out volcano finally had a chance to see the Late Late Show’s version of Secretariat racing against Disney’s version of Secretariat and a jousting horse from Medieval Times.  Perhaps the funniest part of the sketch was when the race started.  Thanks as always to the RSA’s General @Malinky2Stoatir for posting the clip for everyone to enjoy.

Geoff Petersen enjoyed the Secretariat sketch:  Watching that video on @craigyferg wishing I’d gone to Hollywood Park. No Secretariat, but I have a horsie, too. You know where! Will let u know when so you can catch my harmonica duet with Craig!

Late Late Show producer Michael Naidus is a big fan of Friday night’s musical act:  2 random but true facts. (A) I go to about two live concerts a year. (B) I once flew cross-country to see @nellie_mckay on Broadway.

Each year, Google announces its “Zeitgiest” report of the most searched terms in a variety of categories.  @LLS_Episodes noticed that Craig ranked third in the fastest-rising TV show hosts category for 2010, behind Sarah Silverman and Conan O’Brien but ahead of Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.  Thanks to the RSA’s @Fronneke who spotted a Gather.com article about the category.
