Just Plane FunCF Tiger Moth sl
Craig Ferguson has been on a brief holiday, spending some time in Scotland this month. Since he’s enjoying his vacation time, he hasn’t been on Twitter very much, but did send out a thank you to radio host Peter Sagal for touting his autobiography, and tweeted a photo of himself standing in front of a vintage biplane.

Sorry I haven’t tweeted in a while. I’m in Scotland experiencing airplane envy.

The Scottish Sun newspaper couldn’t resist writing a story including the supposed value of his house in Scotland (which they include in every story about him for no reason whatsoever), and making note of his tweet. They also included a previous tweet he sent as a shout out to Glasgow.

Meanwhile in Aberdeen
Aberdeen Remodel EntranceSeveral skellies took note that the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, recipients of a gift from Craig and his family to improve their critical care unit, have been working on other projects as well. The hospital is remodeling its front entrance and reception area to reflect its mission as a place for children to heal. Aberdeen’s Press and Journal newspaper covered the story. Pro tip: If there is a tricky clue in the final round of Celebrity Name Game sometimes it pays for the first contestant to pass, to give the second contestant plenty of time to help the celebrities guess it. Case in point:

Red Nose Day ApproachingCF w Beard sl
For just the second time, the United States will host its own version of Red Nose Day on Thursday, May 26, to raise money for children and families in need. Originally started in 1980s to provide aid in response to famine in Africa, the mission of the event has grown to provide help for poor and disadvantaged people around the world. The UK version of Red Nose Day and a companion telethon called Sport Relief have raised more than one and half billion dollars over 30 years. The US version has helped families in all 50 states and 15 countries. Bringing the event to the US has been championed by actress Emma Freud, a British actress living in the United States and longtime friend of Craig Ferguson, this year’s US TV host. She recently wrote a piece in the UK’s Telegraph newspaper, talking about the show and its goals.

NBC Passes on ‘Crunch Time’
CF Blue Suit slBack in April, Craig shot the pilot for a sitcom called Crunch Time (listed on some websites as Time Crunch), in which he plays a rowdy game show host. The show was one of 15 comedies NBC was reviewing this spring as a possible new half-hour show, but when the network officially announced its fall lineup this week, it decided not to pick up the show as a series. Competition was tough, because NBC renewed many of its existing programs, leaving a small window for new shows. They added five dramas and five comedies, some of which won’t start until mid-season, after The Voice and Sunday Night Football wrap up. The website ComingSoon.net has a good summary of the new dramas, comedies and specials NBC is planning for the coming year. The decision may be a blessing in disguise for Craig, who is pretty busy at the moment, hosting two television shows, as well as working on several future projects and his ongoing stand up comedy tour. As always, we’ll keep you up to date as new projects are announced.
