The Hollywood trade newspaper Variety had a brief report on Craig’s new stand up comedy special on Epix February 19th.

Examiner.com talks about Denis Leary’s appearance on the LLS and the end of his show, Rescue Me.

If you haven’t had a chance to see Josh Robert Thompson in the making of his More Then Freeman commercials, take a look at the link he included in his tweet:  Watch the making of my new @morethanfreeman commercials: http://tinyurl.com/4fj9tb9 #morethanfreeman

WEEKEND PROJECT: As we mentioned last time, we are looking for some new pictures of Craig to include with our daily posts.  We know some of the roboskellies out there have a big #FergPorn collection.  Please tweet us a link to your favorite(s) or send us the link using the “Contact Us” box on the right hand side of this page.  Please help us identify the source… we like to credit the photographer whenever possible.  Thanks!

When Craig was first invited to host the Independence Day festivities in Boston in 2007, he was not yet a citizen of the United States but excited to be part of a big celebration.

Saturday, January 15 is the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Junior’s birthday, although the holiday will be observed Monday in most states.  Sunday, January 16 is World Religion Day, National Nothing Day and Appreciate a Dragon Day.  Can we appreciate How To Train Your Dragon instead?

Craig fans are enjoying the behind-the-scenes interviews from Epix, promoting Craig’s new comedy special on February 19th.  The RSA’s @Colleen_Byrne noticed that if you go to the interview page and “X” out the main preview video, you can scroll down and see more interview clips that are “tutsi-fruitsy” uncensored.  Sid would be in heaven!

Craig introduced (via videotape) CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler at a TV Critics Association press tour event Friday, as described in a blog from HitFix.com.  Reportedly Secretariat made an appearance on the video as well.  None of the articles we’ve seen so far mention any reporter questions or answers out CBS’ late night lineup, so things must be going well at the nation’s most-watched network.

Could Craig be making an appearance on French comedian Jaques “Arthur” Essabag‘s show?  According to an article quoting Arthur, the appearance could come in the first quarter of 2011.  We note that no studio tapings for the Late Late Show are planned for the first week of February.  We’ll keep you posted.  Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrubarb for finding the article and to Google for doing a mediocre but usable translation.

Drag fans, you heard it on Thursday’s show:  Next time, Craig and Denis Leary are really going to do it… they’re really going to wear dresses.  And maybe the other guests.  And maybe even Geoff Petersen.  Oh my!  We can’t wait.

WEEKEND PROJECT: We need some new pictures of Craig to use here on the page.  If you’re a big Craig fan with access to lots of #FergPorn, tweet us a link to your favorite(s) or send us the link using the “Contact Us” box on the right hand side of this page.  Please help us identify the source… we like to credit the photographer whenever possible.  Thanks!

Friday’s guests on the Late Late Show are actor Paul Giamatti and actress Piper Perabo.

It’s a big news day!  As we first reported Thursday morning, the hollowed out volcano is buzzing about the release date for Craig Ferguson‘s newest stand up comedy special, Does This Need to be Said? Here is the most complete information we have so far, gathered throughout the day:

DVD RELEASE: DVD sales have not yet been announced but are expected later this spring.

PREVIEW VIDEO: Before the Nashville shows, the Epix shot a number of interviews with Craig and several fans.  They are editing preview videos leading up to the show’s release.  The first of those videos, which has familiar roboskelly faces can be seen here.  They say more are on the way, featuring more Craig fans… as more are released, we’ll keep you posted!  If the video seems jerky, remember that it is shot in HD, which takes a lot of megabytes.  Try pausing it just as it starts and letting it load (watch the light gray bar along the bottom) before pressing play again.

The voice of Geoff Petersen, Josh Robert Thompson is keeping busy:  Starting 5th season with @craigyferg, voicing more new FAMILY GUY, face/voice of @morethanfreeman & a TV pilot! Thanks for YOUR support!

We’ve noticed some roboskellies asking LLS assistant producer Andrea Wayland about automatic location services used in tweets.  Some RSA folks realized early on that if you enabled location services, it would leave you more characters to type your tweet to Craig.  But for some reason lately, the location feature does not seem to be working using Twitter’s web page or some of the Twitter clients.  To be safe, be sure to include your name and town within your tweet, so it can be considered for reading on the show.  We’re also glad to see she’s back after being out sick.  Welcome back, Andrea!

On Thursday’s Late Late Show, actor/comedian Denis Leary, returns to the show.  Will he and Craig finally wear the dresses they’ve said they would?  Plus comedian Kathleen Madigan is on the show… she may or may not be wearing a dress.  Wait, that came out wrong.  We’re not sure what she’ll be wearing but certainly she’ll be wearing something.  On Friday, Craig’s guests will be actor Paul Giamatti and actress Piper Perabo.

Craig Ferguson’s newest stand up comedy special, Does This Need to be Said? will be available to cable and satellite audiences on the Epix premium channel and online at EpixHD.com on Saturday, February 19th and will be available through Netflix on or about May 21st. Epix, which recorded Craig’s performances in Nashville back on November 20th, made the announcement Thursday morning.

Epix.com is offering a free trial to see what their service is like, for an Eddie Izzard stand up special on January 15th.

The crew at Epix took some behind the scenes photos while setting up to record the special. There are no Craig pictures on the page but it’s interesting to see the work they do. Epix also recorded some fan interviews that we’re told will be shown between now and the release of the special.

**UPDATED**: The first preview video complete with an interview of Craig and of RSA members was posted today and can be found here.  As more are released, we’ll keep you posted!

If you’re not familiar with Epix, it is a premium movie channel, similar to HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz, etc. and also has an on-demand feature.  The channel offers films from Paramount, MGM and Lionsgate Entertainment, which are its joint owners.  It is currently available on Dish Network, Charter Cable, Mediacom, Cox Cable and the Verizon FiOS service.  According to Wikipedia, DirectTV, Comcast and Cablevision have said the have no plans to carry the channel and negotiations are ongoing with several other cable providers such as US Cable, TimeWarmer and AT&T’s U-Verse service. The RSA’s @awkWRDpaws noticed something on Tuesday’s Late Late Show:  Last nite we learned the 2nd Rule of Horse Club = you no up, you no horse Yeah, Paula Abdul… you’re a dancer!  Gotta dance.  Now… we’re wondering what the third rule might be.

CBS announced today that The Big Bang Theory has been renewed for three more seasons.  LLS producer Michael Naidus was happy to hear it:  Three more years of “The Big Bang Theory” … this is the best TV news since they pulled Hasselhoff’s reality show after two episodes.

On Wednesday’s Late Late Show, actor David Duchovny, and just-retired supernanny Jo Frost are Craig’s guests.  Perhaps Jo will have some last-minute advice for a certain soon-to-be father for the second time.  Then on Thursday, will actor/comedian Denis Leary be wearing a dress?  We’ll have to wait and see.  Plus, comedian Kathleen Madigan will join Craig.

If Craig gets a haircut, will “high hair” become “low hair”?  Only time will tell, as we keep an eye on the height of the hair of his chattiness.

His naughty comedy antics delight even me. And we all know what a prude I am.

Meanwhile, General Malinky had a great tweet for comedian Denis Leary and Craig, to make sure they don’t forget they promised to wear dresses together someday:  @DenisLeary @CraigyFerg Maybe you were joking about that ‘dress off’ but we are still waiting…teases. DO-IT! #CallingComicsOnTheirSchtick

Australia is buzzing about the Late Late Show and Craig Ferguson. After six years of being available only on the Internet, the show will now be broadcast weeknights on the Eleven network. That will probably mean a new bunch of robot skeletons in the volcano and we welcome them! A blog at Crikey.com talks about the first day. Not only was today the first day that Craig could be seen (sort of) live (shhhh!) on Australian television, the Late Late Show was actually the first program broadcast by the new network! That’s the way to kick things off in style!

Here is a video from the network’s launch, officially on 1/11/11:
