Update: Friday night’s “Next Week’s Guests” tease included actor Hugh Laurie, who we assume will fill the “to be announced” spot on Wednesday, March 2nd.  We’ll update you when his appearance is confirmed.

The RSA’s @EmmaWuPeel wondered on Twitter Friday when we’ll get to see Craig Ferguson in his gold outfit.  She’s guessed Oscar spoof… Friday would have been the night for that.  And as we reported in our most recent post, the Doctor Who convention segment with the @Nerdist Chris Hardwick is scheduled for Monday night.  There’s no word yet on when Craig and Sid selling lemonade will appear but it’s been a busy few weeks for comedy sketches on the show!

Craig re-tweeted an observation by a fan:  “@MaxieDaisy: @CraigyFerg ‘s Scottish 30’s gangster looks like Spongebob Squarepants doing karate.” Hah! Just the effect I was going for.

The voice of Geoff Petersen, Josh Robert Thompson tweeted:  At CBS, recording new dialogue for my boney alter-ego maniac @GeoffTheRobot

The RSA’s @awkWRDpaws and @scsmith42 had their tweets ready on Thursday’s show.  Remember you can send your questions to @CraigyFerg and he just might read yours!

In the early days of our page, we used to throw in a Friday Fact.  It’s been a while but here’s a new one:  If you laid out Craig Ferguson’s 536,226 followers end to end, they would reach almost from CBS Television City in Los Angeles to Salt Lake City, Utah.  Did anyone bring a bottle of water?  A little thirsty, here.

Friday on the Late Late Show, Craig talks with actress Malin Ã…kerman who was bumped from Tuesday’s show and the host of The Amazing Race Phil Keoghan.  Phil is a native of Christchurch, New Zealand, which suffered a devastating earthquake this week.  LLS Producer Micahel Naidus tweeted:   Tonight, Phil Keoghan talks about the disaster in his hometown of Christchurch…. you can help at http://www.redcross.org.nz

Who is ahead on the guest list for early March?  Get a sneak peek on our Late Late Show Guests page.

A Craig Ferguson fan on Twitter by the name of @KreuzersKorner spotted Craig at the Grove shopping center in Los Angeles on Tuesday.  Sid the cussy rabbit was along and they were working at a lemonade stand.  Check out the pictures of Craig (in the background), Sid at the stand and a disclaimer… because a crew was there filming, perhaps for a future segment on the show.

It’s a great day for America but not if you’re Charlie Sheen.  CBS and Warner Brothers have shut down production of Two and a Half Men, according to People Magazine and many others.

Michael Tobin tweeted today that after recording at the studio late last year, Stackridge will be on the Late Late Show soon:  Just heard the exciting news. STACKRIDGE will be on The Craig Ferguson Late Late Show on Monday March 14th . A good day for America indeed

UPDATE:  Attention Whovians!  The filmed segment with the @Nerdist Chris Hardwick at the Los Angeles Doctor Who convention last weekend is due to air on the LLS Monday. February 28th!

TVSquad.com liked Joel McHale’s story on Wednesday’s show about Don Rickles at Craig’s Christmas party.  And tv.com liked the banter between Joel and Craig.

The folks at heyUguys.co.uk have the latest poster for this summer’s Winnie the Pooh film, featuring Craig as the voice of Owl.  It looks like they’re in a sea of honey… or as Pooh spells it, H-U-N-N-Y.

Thursday on the Late Late Show, Craig talks with actor Forest Whitaker and actress Teresa Palmer.  On Friday, actress Malin Åkerman , who was bumped on Tuesday, will be on the show, along with TV Host Phil Keoghan.

Live Tour Update: Craig adds two more shows in Denver on Sunday, March 20. The updated link is on our Live Comedy Tour page.

Guest Update: A huge guest update is now posted on our Late Late Show Guest page.

The Baltimore Sun enjoyed John Waters and Craig Ferguson talking about the Oscars.  And “John Waters” was trending on Twitter Tuesday night.  Once again, the power of the robot skeleton army is demonstrated.  Well, that and zillions of John’s fans helped.  Let’s give credit where credit is due.

The folks at EPIX thanked the RSA after a successful weekend debut of Craig’s stand up special:  EPIX wants to give a huge shout out to @CraigyFerg’s fans for being so awesome! It’s fun chatting with ya’ll Don’t forget, you can see the special any time at EpixHD.com.

The @Nerdist Chris Hardwick will be going on a stand up tour this year.  Dates are to be announced but he’s letting us know that a plan is in the works.

The RSA’s @SariesWick has been digging in the archives and sent us a great link to the 1994 film The Last Action Series, in which Craig plays a TV producer trying to sell a proposed series.  It includes clips of several classic BBC shows and Craig at about 31 years old.  Enjoy!

Wednesday on the Late Late Show, Craig chats with actor/TV host Joel McHale and bring us a performance by comedian Greg Warren.  On Thursday, actor Forest Whitaker and actress Teresa Palmer are Craig’s guests.

Guest update:  On Tuesday’s show model/actress Malin Ã…kerman was bumped to allow a longer conversation with John Waters.  What we learned on the show was that Malin will be moved to Friday, where the scheduled guests are actress Melissa Leo and TV host Phil Keoghan.  The updated schedule shows Malin and Phil, which means Melissa will be moved ahead to a future date.  We’ll keep you posted.

Tour update: Tickets for Craig Ferguson‘s stand up comedy show on May 1st in Fort Worth, Texas are available for pre-sale on Wednesday, February 23rd.  That’s three days earlier than general ticket sales.  We have the pre-sale link on our Live Comedy Tour page, thanks to Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker, who tweeted the good news:  Pre-sale for Craig’s show in Ft. Worth on 5/1 starts tomorrow [Wednesday].  We’ve also learned that a second show has been added in Austin, Texas on April 29th (shows at 7:30pm and 10:00pm), where pre-sale tickets are available for donors to the theater.  Details and links are on our tour page.  Book early to avoid disappointment!

BroadwayWorld.com talks about Craig’s upcoming appearance in Fort Worth, Texas and includes a brief version of his professional biography.

Randy Kagan‘s new podcast is now available on his website and on iTunes:  the Randy Kagan Show #3 now on itunes. Eat Fresh!

Actress/producer/director Emma Freud, a longtime friend of Craig Ferguson, is in the US this week and sent a very complimentary tweet:  @CraigyFerg mate… Am In miami and watched your show last night. Omffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffg you are AMAZING! Am in awe. Truly. And Craig responded:  @emmafreud hah. Thanks. Learned all from you and dear old Ned Sherrin on BBC radio.

Tuesday’s Late Late Show features Baltimore’s own filmmaker/screenwriter/actor John Waters and Swedish-Canadian model/actress Malin Ã…kerman.  Then on Wednesday, one of Craig’s frequent and favorite guests, actor and TV host Joel McHale is on the show, plus a performance from comedian Greg Warren.

Craig Ferguson was on the radio early this morning in Milwaukee.  In case you weren’t within earshot, the station was kind enough to post the interview on its website.  Craig talks about his time on the shores of Lake Oprah and takes an either-or type quiz that will have you laughing.

Late Late Show announcer Shadoe Stevens presented a remarkable project over the weekend that was years in the making.  The Los Angles Times reports on a classic Hollywood film, set in a new way.

Late Late Show producer Michael Naidus tweeted today:  Cynics, please avoid the following link: http://bit.ly/dpE9rI

The @nerdist Chris Hardwick attended a Doctor Who convention in Los Angeles over the weekend and is planning to bring back some video for the Late Late Show in the coming days.  While he was there, he was sure to get an essential souvenir photo:  To Whovians, this would be considered “The Money Shot”. Thanks, #Gally!!! http://say.ly/RSQ9i6 Chris has more convention pictures on his Twitter timeline.  By the way, Chris will be podcasting from the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas March 12-19, according to the Huffington Post.

We had almost forgotten it, but the RSA’s @Fergufool found another great piece of Late Late Show lore:  The Apocalypse Now opening from August of 2008:

Monday on the Late Late Show, actress Sarah Rue and journalist Wolf Blitzer are Craig’s guests. Craig tweeted Monday evening: Thanks @wolfblitzercnn for a very informative chat on the show tonight. I’m less in the dark but more scared. Tuesday, Craig welcomes back two familiar faces; filmmaker/actor John Waters and actress Malin Akerman.

Saturday night’s special debut caused quite a buzz but the volcano has been fairly quiet ever since.  The special is still available for US residents on EpixHD.com (see our comedy special page for details) and a DVD release is expected sometime soon.  Please take our poll in the right-hand column of the page; we’re curious to know how you saw or plan on seeing the special.

Things get back to normal for a while, as the Late Late Show crew settles in for a few more weeks of new shows before getting a break in mid-March when Craig heads to Denver.  If you are going to see Craig in Denver, please let us know.  We appreciate still pictures (no video, please), blogs, stories and experiences that we can share with the rest of the RSA.

Craig is scheduled for a radio interview at 8:30am ET/5:30am PT (pre-recorded we hope).  Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb for the tweet:  Craig Ferguson will be on Kramp and Adler @fm1021 Monday 2/21 7:30am Central: http://www.fm1021milwaukee.com/morning/#craigyferg #RSA If they post the interview afterward, we’ll link to the clip here.

Malin Ã…kerman

It’s a week of all-new episodes of the Late Late Show, beginning on Monday with actress Sarah Rue and journalist Wolf Blitzer.  On Tuesday, Craig welcomes back filmmaker/actor John Waters and actress Malin Ã…kerman.  Up next on Wednesday is actor/TV host Joel McHale and comedian Greg Warren.  Actor Forest Whitaker and actress Teresa Palmer will be in the studio on Thursday.  Finally on Friday, Craig chats with actress Melissa Leo and host of The Amazing Race Phil Keoghan.

Craig Ferguson‘s stand up comedy special Does This Need To Be Said debuted Saturday night on EPIX.  Now that the debut presentation is over, you can see the special on EpixHD.com any time.  See our Epix Stand Up Special page for details.

As for Saturday night itself, it was an adventure.  After spending weeks refurbishing the rsanews.com website, checking and double-checking everything and being ready… our site crashed, just before the special began.  We’re not sure if it was because of a big rush of the Robot Skeleton Army all at once but we were on the phone with our hosting provider and the site was completely down for at least twenty minutes and in rough shape for longer than that.  If you tried to log in to the site between 7:45 and 8:30pm ET Saturday night, please accept our apologies.  We’ve been online here with you for nearly a year and never crashed until tonight.  It was terrible timing but we’re back up and running now.

As for EpixHD.com, they had some troubles of their own.  Several skellies reported having difficultly logging on, or when they logged on, they couldn’t get the program to start.  The good news is that now that the debut is over, you can see the show online any time, and the demand should slow down.

Again, we’re sorry if you couldn’t see our site or join the live chat as the show was going on.  We’re bribing our hosting service with promises of chicken and candy, to do better next time.

There is other news going on as well:

How To Train Your Dragon has been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award for Favorite Animated Movie.  Also nominated are Despicable Me, Shrek Forever After and Toy Story 3.

Our friends at EpixHD.com sent us a final interview clip with Craig talking about his comedic influences.

As Craig has discussed in several interviews over the past week, the special represents the hard work of building and fine-tuning his stand up act.  Now that the special is being released, Craig will be working on lots of new material for his new tour.  There are still a few tickets left to see him in Denver in March, as he sharpens his new act at the Comedy Works.  Then he moves on to Windsor, Ontario and a southern swing through Tulsa, Austin and Fort Worth.  See the most up-to-date tour itinerary and ticket information on our Live Comedy Tour page any time.

We keep track of the guests scheduled to appear on the Late Late Show so you don’t have to.  Want to know who’s going to be on the show?  We’ll include our usual weekly list in our Monday post but you can check out the up-to-date guests page any time.

We hope you enjoyed the special!
