The film was shot in the summer of 2018, and after a long search for a distributor, the film will come out in theaters in limited one-day release on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 and then move to streaming platforms on Friday, October 2. Craig Appears as Podcast Guest
Craig recently appeared on the UK-based podcast My Time Capsule. The premise of the show, hosted by actor/comedian Michael Fenton Stevens, asks guests to place five items in a time capsule; four to be preserved and one to be forgotten. In this case, the host and guest didn’t quite stick to the format but had a wide-ranging discussion about Craig’s life and career that is well worth a listen. Craig also appeared on Adam Carolla’s podcast and Larry King Now late last year, along with Bert Kreischer’s show and Ben Mathis’s Kickass News earlier in 2020.

Josh Appears as Late Night Show Guest
Josh Robert Thompson, who provided the voice for robot skeleton sidekick Geoff Peterson on the Late Late Show, was recently interviewed by Aaron Ross on his web-based late night talk show WHO’S the ROSS? where they talked about Josh’s role on the show and how he and Craig created such memorable moments.

Email Problems
Our automated email system had some problems shaking off the cobwebs this week. Some people got an email with a link to a post from last December, and a few people even accidentally got more than one email. We were able to cancel most of those from going out, and re-sent an email with the correct post which should reach the full mailing list soon. Our apologies for the misfire.

Jay Leno Restores Craig’s Old Ford Bronco
Years ago, Craig bought an old, roached out Ford Bronco from Danny Bonaduce. Craig tinkered with it, and when Jay Leno retired from the Tonight Show, Craig gave him the Bronco as a parting gift. Leno and his team fixed it up and debuted it an auto show to rave reviews, as mentioned in Car and Driver, Motor Illustrated, Motor Authority and many more.

Craig Performs at Edinburgh
After a 25-year absence, Craig performed a stand up show at the Edinburgh Fringe in August. As you might expect, he got a lot of press, including articles from the Guardian, the Herald Scotland, the Scotsman, the Scottish Sun, the Sunday Post, BBC Scotland and The Times.

A New Craig Chat Show?
The Sun newspaper reports Craig could host a new chat show in the UK. The paper speculates the network ITV needs a show fill the void left by the now-cancelled Jeremy Kyle Show, a sort of Jerry Springer equivalent. The paper says Craig has been working this summer with the production company that produced Kyle’s show and could pitch the show to the network. As always, there’s no guarantee a show will be picked up, but this would be exciting news for fans if it pans out. We’ll keep an eye on it.

Corden Re-ups With CBS
James Corden, the host who took over as host of The Late Late Show in 2015 has extended his contract to host the program through August of 2022, the Irish Examiner reports.

Craig To Release Comedy Specials
Remember at the start of the Hobo Fabulous Tour, when Craig Ferguson sent out a press release announcing the tour dates, he said he wanted each of his stand up comedy shows to be a unique experience in each city, and that the tour would quote, “never be recorded for any form of broadcast or streaming outlet”? That news release was dutifully reported by BroadwayWorld.com, and echoed in newspapers in Indiana, the Daily News in Los Angeles, and the Register-Guard in Oregon, which he pointedly told, “I also think there are too many stand-up specials,” he continues. “It’s not special if everybody does it. It’s not special if it’s done too often. I want each show to be unique and special. Special in the sense that is has no agenda other than to exist in the moment that it does. One and done.”

Not so fast.

As Deadline reported today, some of the tour was indeed recorded and will be available on all kinds of streaming platforms soon. But instead of being a typical hour-long stand up special, it will be in a documentary form, split into six half-hour episodes, titled simply Hobo Fabulous. The article says it’s being called a “new kind of stand-up special;” a mixture of a stand up show and a behind-the-scenes rock tour documentary.

The series will be distributed by Comedy Dynamics, the company that helped produce Craig’s previous special I’m Here To Help and his History Channel show Join Or Die, and distributes shows for a wide variety of comedians. The channel will be available on iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Comcast, Spectrum, Dish and other platforms.

We’re excited about the series because although Craig has toured extensively in North America, he has many fans in the U.S. and around the world who aren’t able to easily travel to see him in person. Now, they’ll have a chance to get a taste of what the tour was like. The series is directed by Craig’s radio sidekick and erstwhile front end of Secretariat the pantomime horse, Malibu Joe Bolter, and produced by Czech vampire and tour road manager Tomas Zakopal.

So far, a release date for the series has not been announced but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear.
