The RSA’s @malinky2stoatir has spent the past two years, dutifully posting every new episode of the Late Late Show for fans to enjoy.  Mal made a point today to honor some of the dedicated YouTube users who came before, posting hundreds of shows.  Longtime fans may remember that before Mal there was RoQu3tO, rock3rgyrl, Philly (aka Phillyzero, Phillyfinale, PhillyGotDeletedAlot) and 0mniscient.  Thanks to all of their efforts, the web is filled with Craigy goodness.  Happy anniversary, Mal… and many more.

Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker has been vacationing in London and tweeted a pair of fun observations on Friday: [quotetweet tweetid=51214921471492096] [quotetweet tweetid=51216433635540992]

Thursday evening, Craig tweeted that he was at the Staples Center to see the Kings and Sharks play hockey and joked that he wanted to ride the Zamboni.  We’re not sure if Craig noticed, but the LAKings tweeted him back and said: [quotetweet tweetid=51143779532541952]
Are we the only ones who think this could be a great remote segment someday?  We’re hoping LLS Producer Michael Naidus saw the exchange.

As for Craig, he got some positive comments from the announcers at the game.  Thanks to the ever-vigilant @SexyCraigFerg for finding the link.

Friday on the Late Late show, enjoy the March 8th episode with actor Topher Grace and actress Catherine Deneuve.  New episodes return on Monday, March 28th.  Check out the updated list on our Guests page.

We quote a lot of tweets here on the website. To make them stand out a bit more, we’re trying a new thing. Instead of just showing them in italics, we’re trying a fancier “display” mode. Let us know if you like or don’t like it.

Craig tweeted from his local coffee shop on Thursday afternoon:  http://yfrog.com/gz12yobj weird looking hairy dude in front of me in line keeps staring at me. Let’s hope it didn’t distract him from buying jazz CD’s while waiting for his latte.  But Craig has also found a new distraction to fend off boredom.  He tweeted:  Tiny Wings is the methadone for my Angry Birds habit. If you haven’t seen it, Tiny Wings is the latest iPhone/iPad game that has thousands of players transfixed.  By Thursday evening, Craig headed back out in search of entertainment:  At Staples ctr to watch Kings vs Sharks. Really want to ride the zamboni. #thatcode We’re guessing Craig must be a Sharks fan, given his adventure in the Caribbean last summer.

Josh Robert Thompson mentioned on his Twitter account that he’d like to be the new voice of the AFLAC duck:  Operation: Replace the AFLAC duck is underway! Back off, kid. Daddy’s got this. #AFLAC Voice actor Brock Baker promptly jumped into the fray:  Challenge accepted, may the best man win. #AFLAC The AFLAC duck had been voiced by Gilbert Gottfried.  But the comedian was released by the insurance company after it read some of his jokes about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, where the company does 75% of its business.

Tickets for Craig’s Seattle show are on sale now, but apparently only pre-sale tickets are available until Saturday.  In order to get pre-sale tickets, you have to sign up for the Seattle Theater Guild’s email newsletter to get the coupon code.  General ticket sales will begin on Saturday as originally scheduled using the link on our Live Comedy Tour page.  Our apologies that we were unclear that Thursday and Friday ticket purchases require the code.  It wasn’t made clear to us at first, either.

The RSA’s @HMSFox took some pictures while in Denver for Craig’s shows last week, including an RSA meetup, some snakeskin boots to go along with rattlesnake mugs, HMSFox’s Sid puppet in traffic (imagine what he must have been saying!), Sid crossing the border and Sid in the hands of a statue at the Science Museum’s pirate exhibit.

And speaking of pirates, what would the RSA be without @Fergufool‘s LLS video collection treasures like this one?

Thursday on the Late Late Show, enjoy a rebroadcast of the February 11th show with actor Jason Biggs and science writer Jennifer Ouellette.  Then on Friday, it’s an encore of the March 8th episode featuring actor Topher Grace and actress Catherine Deneuve.

Thanks to all of our contributors who send us stories and pictures from Craig’s shows on the road.  The rest of the RSA is always happy to see them.  Who has tickets for the charity event where Craig is performing in April?  Or to his show in Windsor?  Let us know… we’d like to hear from you.

Craig’s show business pal, Hugh Laurie, has released a new album featuring American music from the 20’s and 30’s called Let Them Talk.  We expect he’ll be getting some very good reviews for his work, which you can preview in this video.  Thanks to the RSA’s @SexyCraigFerg for the link… and if you want more, check out her Twitter stream, which has lots of links to audio and video.

There are many and more able outlets than ours creating wonderful tributes to Academy Award-winning actress Elizabeth Taylor who has died at the age of 79.  If you have only known of her as Michael Jackson’s friend or a perfume spokeswoman, it would be hard to explain how big a star she was.  We hope you’ll check out People Magazine‘s collection of her most memorable moments on screen. She was a larger than life star with raven hair, violet eyes and a natural charisma matched by few… either in her era or since.

Wednesday on the Late Late Show, Craig welcomes The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons in a reprise of the February 2nd show.  Then on Thursday, we’ll see an encore of the February 11th show with actor Jason Biggs and science writer Jennifer Ouellette.

Craig is enjoying his time off, watching a little television, including the show featuring past and future LLS guest Ariel Tweto:  Watched DVR’d Flying Wild Alaska season finale. Teared up. #oneofthemanyreasonsimtoomuchofapussytobeabushpilot.

More good news for Craig’s fans in the northwest.  Another date has been added to Craig’s 2011 stand up comedy tour, this time in Seattle.  Tickets go on sale this Saturday.  Check out the complete list of tour venues on our Live Comedy Tour page.

Tom O’Neil, blogging for the Los Angeles Times, runs down a long list of possible hosts for the next Emmy Awards telecast and includes Craig Ferguson as an outside possibility… although it’s likely a Fox celeb will get the nod.  Also, Craig has said many times he is not a fan of awards shows, whether hosting, attending or even watching.

Canada’s MacLeans magazine talks about how Conan O’Brien‘s show is a traditionalist’s alternative on cable and not as experimental as Jimmy Fallon or Craig Ferguson’s shows can be.

The Humane Society’s Genesis Award for best feature film went to How To Train Your Dragon last Saturday night, as TheWrap.com reports.

By popular demand, here’s another track from Craig’s days with the rock back “Exposure” called “Video Eyes”. Thanks again to @SexyCraigFerg for finding this rare cut:

Tuesday’s Late Late Show is an encore presentation from January 28th with actress Helena Bonham Carter and music by Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers.  Wednesday, Craig chats with The Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons in a show first broadcast on February 2nd.

Craig gets to spend some time at home in Los Angeles after a week on stage in Denver.  Craig’s opening act on the road, Randy Kagan tweeted about his experience in at the Comedy Works:  The mile high city made me 10 miles high. Thank you killer Colorado Crowds! No tweets from Craig, but don’t fret, needy tweeters.  He’ll be back.

Josh Robert Thompson has added a Facebook page with links to his “More Than Freeman” commercials.

Some of the crew at the Late Late Show at CBS Television City will get to enjoy time off this week but others are still working hard, including the team that books guests for the show.   Some names added to the list Monday include Larry King, Julie Chen, Zooey Deschanel, Wynona Judd, Ariel Tweto, Ashley Judd, Edward Conlon, Kristen Bell and Robin Wright.  For the complete list, check out our updated Guests page.

Craig recorded some interesting music in his early days, including this number called “Style and Fashion” when he was a drummer with the rock band “Exposure” (Thanks to the RSA’s @SexyCraigFerg for posting it):

Monday on the Late Late Show, we’ll get another look at the January 13th episode featuring actor Denis Leary and comedian Kathleen Madigan (from January 13, 2011).  On Tuesday, it’s Craig’s conversation with actress Helena Bonham Carter and a performance by Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers from January 28th.  New episodes resume on March 28th.

Craig Ferguson and Randy Kagan wrapped up their sold out ten-show run at the Comedy Works in Denver Sunday night.  After working out new material, they have some polished sets ready for bigger venues in the coming months.  As of now, there are 13 shows scheduled at 11 locations around North America in 2011, including three shows in the Vancouver area.  One will be at the Red Robinson Show Theatre and the other two will be at the River Rock Casino… a second show was added there due to high demand.  If you haven’t decided where to see Craig performing live this year, check out the ticket information on our Live Comedy Tour page.  Tickets are selling quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment!

We have some RSA pictures to share, thanks to @GenieFirestone.  Here are some of the RSA ladies and gents having fun in and around Denver including a trip to the mountains, before a show at the Comedy Works, between shows, having dinner and mouth organs!

The RSA’s @Diane4Mail was among the many roboskellies in Denver this past week, getting a chance to see Craig up close and in person.  She wrote an account of her experience and sent it to us to share with you.

[stextbox id=”custom” Diane’s Denver Experience]
I had a great time in Denver seeing Craig, Randy and meeting up with other skeletons.  Was thrilled to meet @GenieFirestone, @mimetska @SecretNakedHobo @rayscomadtod1 @jessnormal and @Geri_Montoya for the first time.  Loved meeting up with @LolLioness, @colleen_Byrne @HMSFox and @LissaLouCragy2.  I was sorry to miss the other three since I had to leave on Friday.  It was so great to put faces to all of these people who have been in my life for over a year now.  Every one of them are funny, adorable, good people who all share a love for Craig. Over the course of the week we shared food, drink, laughter, frustration, tweets, hugs, understanding and even a few tears.  It is so wonderful to be among friends who really understand the slight obsession we all share.  Few of us can get this in our own homes.

As far as Craig goes, well, as you can imagine, he was fantastic.  I think all of us, at one point or another got the opportunity to sit front row and get a full body view of Craig at work.  A place we all would like to stay just a little bit longer.  We won’t tell what the new material is but suffice it to say it was hysterical and enlightening.  I always walk out of his shows with my face aching from smiling and laughing and my brain full of new things to Google and learn more about when I get home.  Since no cameras were allowed there are no Craig or Randy pictures to share and for that I am very sorry.   On Wednesday, Craig wore a gray suit jacket and pants with a dark blue button down with black boots and belt.  Same outfit for both shows.  On Thursday, he wore the same jacket with a greenish button down untucked and jeans with the boots.  Those of us in the front row were treated to several belly peeks due to an unbuttoned lower button. (Thank you Craig)

As always, the things that demanded my attention most were his dazzling blue eyes and sparkling big smile.  Hard to remember everything he said because those items are so very distracting! It was great to get several moments of direct eye contact with Craig.  I returned the favor by looking straight back with a big smile.  When Craig took the stage for the first time on Wednesday night he was greeted with a loud, long standing ovation!  He looked kind of taken aback and said something about feeling like a Jonas brother. He then said, “I was hoping for an impartial audience.”  It was said with a smile and then he got on with the show.  The show was full of energy top to bottom and he rarely looked at his notes.  It is amazing that he already has all of this material memorized when this is touted to be his “workshoping” time.

I loved seeing the very first show and seeing how it improved in the second show that night. He had also added new material.  The next day the transitions were fully in place and so polished!  I thought the first two were great but I was blown away by the improvements. It is obvious Craig takes his craft very seriously and does not settle for well enough.  My final show was his fourth, the late show on Wed. Front row center with Colleen and Susan.  I was in heaven.  Randy had a fantastic set and was rocking a black shirt, black tie and black pants.  No jacket this time and he looked great!  He leaned down off the stage to shake Colleen’s hand and he also shook my and Susan’s hands.  He was yelling, “RSA in the Hizzy!  We love you guys!  These guys pay our checks” (or something to that effect). Craig came out and put on an incredible show!  We each got a bit of eye contact and that is always a delight.  The audience loved him.

Once again, Thanks Craig for four incredible shows. I do realize how fortunate I was to get to see him in the intimate venue and I will always remember this incredible week. New friends, new material, old friends and great times.  Life is good. Too bad we have to return to real life, but Craig makes it a little easier to take.

Do you have a Craig story to tell from Denver?  Please let us know.  You can submit your story using our contact form.  If it’s a bit too long to fit in the box, don’t worry… just send it to us in smaller chunks and we’ll reassemble it.  Your fellow skellies will appreciate hearing your story!

Thanks to the RSA’s @beccarebec, who attended the @nerdist Chris Hardwick‘s sold out stand up comedy show in Chicago on Friday night and snapped a picture.

Catherine Deneuve

The re-run fairy is in town this week, as CBS treats us to some encore episodes of the Late Late Show.  On Monday, it’s the January 13th episode, featuring actor Denis Leary and comedienne Kathleen Madigan.  On Tuesday, Craig chats with actress Helena Bonham Carter and enjoys a performance by Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers from January 28th.  Wednesday, watch for Craig’s February 2nd conversation with The Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons.  Actor Jason Biggs and science writer Jennifer Ouellette will be seen on Thursday’s encore from February 11th.  And on Friday, we’ll see the March 8th episode with actor Topher Grace and actress Catherine Deneuve.

In case you had cloudy skies on Saturday night, the folks at Space.com compiled a nice collection of pictures of the “super moon” rising at locations around the world.  Thanks to the RSA’s @SariesWick for spotting these.

Craig Ferguson still has a pair of live stand up comedy shows in Denver on Sunday before returning to Los Angeles for a well-deserved break. Fans in the Denver area and those who made the trip to the Comedy Works are among the first to see some of the new material being polished up for Craig’s 2011 tour.  From what we’ve been hearing, it’s great stuff!

We’re hoping to hear more from the platoon of robot skeletons attending Craig’s shows in Denver this week. Pictures, stories, blogs, tweets, all of the above… we want to hear from you! No spoilers from the shows, please but do tell us about your experience seeing the shows and meeting other RSA folks in the mile-high city.  Usually Craig or Randy will have something to say on the Tweety about the tour but both have been quiet this time.

Actor George Takei has a personal message for those keeping tabs on the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis in Japan. Thanks to the RSA’s @KarlynMyJournal for sending it our way:

Saturday, March 19th is Purim in the Jewish calendar and Saint Joseph’s Day in the Christian calendar.   It is also National Quilting Day and the traditional day that the swallows return to San Juan Capistrano.  Sunday, March 20th is Proposal Day and Kiss Your Fiancée Day (we would hope those two coincide).  It is also the first day of Spring in the Northern hemisphere, the first day of Autumn in the Southern hemisphere and the birthday of the late Fred Rogers.  If you’ve never seen Mr. Rogers’ acceptance speech for the Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award he received in 1997, we hope you will take a moment to do so and to take the ten seconds he asks to think of those who have helped you become who you are.  We’re always happy to be your neighbor.
