Craig Invades Canada
In the first of several appearances in the Great White North in 2011, Craig Ferguson performs Saturday night at the Caesar’s Windsor Casino in Windsor, Ontario, just across the river from Detroit.  Only a handful of tickets remain and if you’re there, you’ll get so see a new opening dance number featuring Craig and his opening act, comedian Randy Kagan.  We’ve also learned (thanks to the eagle-eyed @bgrhubarb) that tickets for Craig’s July 10th show in Salt Lake City will go on sale May 6th.  See the latest on our Live Comedy Tour page.

Charlotte is Next
On Thursday, April 28th, Craig will perform in Charlotte, North Carolina.  The Charlotte Observer interviewed Craig to preview the show.

Eat Your Own Elbows?
Alfred Molina is not a fan of the royal wedding, as shown by TVSquad.com.  And the Huffington Post mentions Craig in a post about self-aware robots.

Doctor Who New Series
The new series of the much-loved British science fiction series Doctor Who debuts on Saturday, April 23rd in the UK and the US.  Excitement for the new series, featuring the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith has been building for months.  The student newspaper at St. Louis’ Washington University gives a taste of what fans are waiting for.  And the @Nerdist, Chris Hardwick has posted a podcast of the on-stage interview he conducted in New York with Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arther Darvill earlier in April.

Doc Martin on DVD
The Wall Street Journal and TVGeekArmy.com report that the first four seasons of the British series Doc Martin will be available on DVD soon.  The character of Doc Martin was originally created by Craig Ferguson for his film Saving Grace and was spun off for the show.

 

 

More Mouse Hand Waves?
NBC has renewed Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for another year.  His current deal will end in the spring of 2012, a few months before David Letterman and Craig Ferguson’s current contracts expire at CBS.  Outlets covering the news included Entertainment Weekly, CNN.com, PerezHilton.com, and Hollywood.com.

Boston Pre-Sale is Underway
Pre-sale tickets for Craig Ferguson‘s July 31st show at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston are available now.  You can find the link on our Live Comedy Tour page, along with the pre-sale code.  Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday, April 22nd.  Meanwhile, there are still a few tickets still available for Craig’s show in Windsor, Ontario for Saturday night, as well as his stops in North Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma next week.  The Boys and Girls Club of Monterey County, California has posted a picture of Craig from his performance there last Saturday night.  Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb for the link.

Dynamic Ticket Pricing
According to the Associated Press, Ticketmaster will soon allow artists to change ticket prices any time based on demand.  They could make the best seats more expensive when tickets are first released and demand is hot, or lower prices on back row tickets when sales slow down.

A new collection of clips from early television comedian Ernie Kovacs has just been released.  In a review in AARP, which has been picked up by several media outlets including the Miami Herald, the reviewer mentions that Craig’s style of getting laughs from the production of the show itself is a trick Kovacs knew well.

@Nerdist Doctor Who Podcast
On Friday, April 22nd, the @Nerdist Chris Hardwick will post his podcast, featuring interviews with Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Aurthr Darvill… just one day before the new series of Doctor Who debuts in the UK and the US. Tina Fey‘s appearance on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson stirred up a lot of press coverage, including:  DigitalSpy.com and HuffingtonPost.com,  which focused on Tina’s reason for not joining Twitter; TheCelebrityCafe.com, Babble.com and OKMagazine,com, which reported her jokes about having a baby; TVSquad.com talked about the baby and Fey’s “renaissance man” partner; and New York Magazine appreciated her Star Wars views.  Tina is on stage Tuesday night with Steve Martin to talk about her book, according to the Los Angeles Times.

San Jose Snarks
The San Jose Mercury News took a swipe at Craig today, classing him as a “less ritzy” celebrity attending Los Angeles Kings games.

Craig Prepares for Canada
After wrapping up an appearance in Northern California Saturday night, Craig’s next stop on his 2011 tour will be Windsor, Ontario… just across the bridge from Detroit.  Caesar’s Windsor Casino is the first of several Canadian venues Craig will visit this year, including the Vancouver area, Toronto and Montreal.  Before the first weekend of May is over, Craig will have visited North Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma as well.  If you’ve never had a chance to see Craig perform live, you really should treat yourself.  Check out the most up-to-date listing of his live appearances on our Live Comedy Tour page.  Don’t forget… pre-sale tickets go on sale Wednesday for Craig’s return to the Wilbur Theatre in Boston!

Craig Ferguson appeared in Carmel, CA Saturday night as the featured performer at a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club.  In addition to his live stand up shows around the country, Craig performs at an occasional corporate or charity event.   These are usually not publicized much but if you hear about one happening, please let us know!

Every Day is a Holiday
Saturday, April 16th is Charlie Chaplain’s birthday, Record Store Day (remember those?) and National Auctioneer Day, which we can celebrate with Leroy Van Dyke.

Sunday, April 17 is Palm Sunday, Bat Appreciation Day, Blah Blah Blah Day and Nothing Like a Dame Day. For that, we have to turn to the 1958 film South Pacific. We hope you enjoy this clip… you too, ladies.
