Craig in Austin on Friday Craig Ferguson‘s Friday night stop on the latest leg of the 2011 stand up comedy tour is in Austin, Texas for two shows. He sent a picture Friday morning with Randy Kagan, Jeff Arnold and Bradley Liase, standing at what must have been a refueling stop at the Vicksburg-Tallulah airport in Mississippi. Craig heads to Tulsa Saturday night and Fort Worth on Sunday before heading back to Los Angeles. He tweeted:
And from Charlotte, the RSA’s @EdwardBunch sent us this:
Saw Craig and company in Charlotte and the show was absolutely fabulous! Laughed so hard my face hurt. Craig worked VERY hard throughout his hour on stage, and the closing musical number was GREAT! 🙂 Go see the show if you can!!!
Did you see the shows in Charlotte or Austin? Will you be in Tulsa or Fort Worth for this weekend’s shows? We’d be grateful to hear your stories and see your still pictures (no video allowed during the show) to share with the rest of the RSA. You can send us information using our Contact form or tweet us a link @RSA_News. Your fellow robot skeletons thank you!
Winnie The Pooh and the Deathly Hollows
We were reminded that when Winnie The Pooh opens on July 15th, it’ll be in direct competition with part two of the Harry Potter finale, which opens on the same day. While this practically guarantees Pooh won’t see the top box office spot, it is hoped the film will still be seen by a wide audience in the following weeks.
Royal Wedding
We would be remiss if we did not mention the wedding of William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple as well as to the United Kingdom and its Commonwealth realms on this joyous occasion.
Not Every Sketch Goes Perfectly
Like pioneering television comedian Ernie Kovacs, Craig isn’t afraid to show what happens when things go wrong, like in this early LLS sketch.

Tonight’s Guests
It’s another new (albeit prerecorded) episode of the Late Late Show on Friday night, with actor/comedian Bob Saget and music by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings.
Craig in Charlotte Thursday, Heading to Austin Friday
Craig Ferguson performed at the Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte, North Carolina Thursday evening. It was the first of five shows in an extended weekend run. He tweeted:
Up next are two shows in Austin, Texas on Friday; an appearance in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday and a return to Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday. We’re told that the early show in Austin is almost sold out but there are more tickets available for the late show. You can see venue and ticket information for all of Craig’s upcoming shows on our Live Comedy Tour page. Tickets are available for all shows.
Great Interview and Audio!
Craig did a great interview for DFW.com including an audio recording of part of the telephone interview, where he talks about why he likes Texas and the South.
Tulsa Ready for His Chattiness
The Tulsa World newspaper previews Craig’s appearance at the Hard Rock Casino on Saturday.
Southern Storms
The recent severe storms across the Southeastern United States have left many dead and injured and countless others affected by the damage caused by tornadoes, strong winds, hail, downpours and flooding. You can help those affected by making a donation to the American Red Cross. To all of our Southern roboskelly friends, we are thinking of you and hope for a speedy return to normal life.
Who Knew That About Canadian Horses?
Craig gets a gift and has some fun.

Tonight’s Guests All new (recorded earlier but airing for the first time) episodes of the Late Late Show return Thursday, as Craig welcomes actor Tom Selleck and actress Odette Annable.
On Friday, Craig chats with actor/comedian Bob Saget and we’ll hear music by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings.
Craig On Your Hand-Held Device Soon (Hey, now) The folks at EpixHD have announced that they will soon have apps for a wide variety of hand-held devices such as smartphones, tablets and internet-capable televisions, which will stream their library of movies, concerts, sports and comedy specials like Craig Ferguson‘s Does This Need To Be Said? Details can be found in articles from Home Media Magazine, MultiChannel.com and 4-traders.com. Release dates for individual device apps have not yet been announced but are targeted for mid-2011. The special is currently available on the EPIX channel from some cable and satellite providers and on EpixHD.com. It will be available on Netflix starting May 20th. There is still no word on a DVD release date but we’re keeping an eye on it.
Charlotte Tickets
The Ovens Auditorium tells us they’ve dropped the price of all remaining tickets for Craig’s show on Thursday to $31. If you live anywhere near Charlotte, there’s no excuse not to go and help fill the place up! The Ovens tweeted: [quotetweet 63267384538042368]Check out our Live Comedy Tour page for the tickets link.
Pooh Arrives in the US July 15
The New York Times reminds us that the new Disney-Pixar film Winnie The Pooh, featuring the voice of Craig Ferguson as Owl, will be released on July 15th. The article shows the competition the film will be facing in theaters that month.
Craig’s Quip Caught by Scottish Press
The Herald Scotland mentioned a recent joke by Craig about the royal family. If you’d rather not sign up for the newspaper’s websites to read the articles, the quote by writer Ken Smith was short:
[stextbox id=”custom”] Glasgow-born talk show host in America Craig Ferguson told his audience: “Queen Elizabeth has turned 85. There was an awkward moment when she closed her eyes to make a wish and Prince Charles asked, ‘Is she dead?’.â€[/stextbox]
Early Craig Pictures
The RSA’s @HMSFox sent us a link to a page with pictures of cast members from various productions of Bad Boy Johnny and the Prophets of Doom. Craig played the role of Father MacLean at The Union Chapel in a 1994 workshop production and there are three pictures of him on the stage. The controversial play, which is a satire of religion and rock and roll music, closed after just nine performances following protests by religious groups.
Tonight’s Guests
Wednesday will be the last visit from the re-run fairy for a while, as we’ll see the March 30th show featuring actor Matthew McConaughey and actress Amy Smart. New episodes resume on Thursday with actor Tom Selleck and actress Odette Annable.
The future guest list has been updated through May 11th, including filmmaker/author John Waters, actress Olivia Munn, actor Tim Meadows, comedienne Marina Franklin, actress Melissa McCarthy and former Men at Work front man Colin Hay. See the complete list on our Guests page.
A Quiet Day in the Volcano
It’s so quiet in the hollowed-out volcano you can hear the breeze blowing through the cleverly camouflaging island vegetation outside. Craig’s robot skeleton sidekick Geoff Peteresen may be self-aware but he is probably unplugged at the moment. We have heard no instructions for the robot skeleton army from our fearless leader and yet we are always training, always at the ready for the day he calls upon us.
In the meantime, tickets are selling quickly now for Craig’s live appearances this week in North Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma. Tickets are now on sale for most shows. Tickets for July’s Salt Lake City show will be available in May and for September’s Minnesota shows in June. We still have not heard of a starting date for ticket sales for July’s show in Toronto but we’ll pass it along when we know. The folks at Bass Hall in Fort Worth sent a reminder: [quotetweet 62904649237266432]As always, the most up-to-date information is available on our Live Comedy Tour page.
Lemonade Stand
The RSA’s @bgrhubarb wondered aloud today whatever happened to Craig’s lemonade stand at the Grove shopping center in Los Angeles? Back in late February, the RSA’s @KreuzersKorner spotted Craig and Sid taping what appeared to be a segment at the Grove and took some pictures. It is possible they were taping something to be used for a corporate event and it won’t be seen on the show. But who knows? It could pop up unexpectedly any time.
Stylin’ with Craig
Craig talks about his bald spot(s).

Tonight’s Guests The Late Late Show is in “encore presentation” mode Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday, enjoy the March 29th episode featuring retired TV host Larry King and medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta. And on Wednesday, it’s the March 30th episode featuring actor Matthew McConaughey and actress Amy Smart. New episodes resume on Thursday.
Going Hollywood The website Movieline.com says Craig Ferguson’s role as Owl in the new Disney-Pixar film Winnie The Pooh is among its top ten performances that might surprise moviegoers this summer. Meanwhile, Hollywood.com talks about the new Doctor Who series, crediting Craig for the fun opening musical number about the show but mistakenly saying it never aired. The eagle-eyed @bgrhubarb quickly commented to set the record straight.
More From Windsor

More Stand Up Spoilers
There is one more picture in the article that is a bit of a spoiler and the description of the show is very detailed, so we’ve hidden it under the bar. If you want to be surprised, pass this part up. If you don’t mind, check it out!

Late Night Peace
The @Nerdist Chris Hardwick has posted his podcast with Craig’s Late Night NBC counterpart, Jimmy Fallon.
Charlotte Excitement
The Creative Loafing blog says Craig is a best bet for entertainment in Charlotte, NC this week.
Tonight’s Guests We’ll be seeing three nights of encore presentations of the Late Late Show this week. Monday’s show is the March 10th episode with comedienne Wanda Sykes and actor Kevin McKidd. On Tuesday, it’s retired TV host Larry King and medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta from the March 29th show.
A Few Days Off Craig Ferguson and company are back in Los Angeles after performing in Windsor, Ontario on Saturday night. They’ll be heading to Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday. They’re off until then, with re-runs of the Late Late Show on the schedule Monday through Wednesday. No tapings are scheduled this week and the new episodes Thursday and Friday were recorded earlier. We hope they’re enjoying a well-deserved break. Craig’s opening act, comedian Randy Kagan is our source for great behind-the-scenes photos from the tour. He sent along a picture of Craig, the two of them together, with the plane that carries the gang from show to show, Bradley with the plane and a great shot of Craig before the show.
Stories from Craig’s Windsor Show
We were sent three great stories from Craig’s stand up comedy appearance at Caesar’s Windsor Casino in Windsor, Ontario Saturday night:
[stextbox bgcolor=F3F3F2]
The first comes from the RSA’s @pinkbirdie48840 who tells us about her experience attending the show, with no spoilers:
I went to Craig’s show in Windsor last night. I had 3 friends w/ me, one of them a new one that I meet via Twitter who didn’t have a ride to Windsor, and because I had room in the car, invited her along. I think we’ll be friends for a long time as we share a love of all things Craigy. My 3 friends had only two things in common, myself & Craig.
We left the Lansing area early Saturday morning, not sure what to expect when crossing the US/Canadian boarder. (No problems entering Canada or returning to the States.) We had a few hours to kill before we could check into the hotel, so wandered around downtown Windsor and found a place for lunch, called the “Snooty Rooster” (Excellent lunch by the way). We laughed and talked about the jokes that Craig would have made about the name of the place (Snooty Cock anyone?) We were finally able to check into the hotel at 2pm, got to our room and split up for the afternoon. One lady took advantage of the hot tub down stairs, one rested, and two of us went to gamble. She was successful, I was not. At every turn, the hotel staff was friendly and endured my endless questions about weather or not Craig would be available to meet or sign autographs, one even gave some helpful (but not successful) tips on how to meet the performers after the show. We had dinner at the casino’s expensive buffet (good food, but over priced for what it was). After dinner, and a potty break, we headed for the show. Getting inside was quick and easy and there were plenty of ushers to help you to your seat. (Our usher was so kind, and even went to ask how we could possibly meet Craig for us).We were 10th row center!
Before the show, there was an announcement about turning off cellphones, and that there was no “recording” of the show allowed. Somewhat confused, we went to ask the “Security” dudes near the stage if that also included photography. There was a hotel suit w/ the security guys, and we were told that photographs were ok. Later in the show however, we were told quite rudely that no photographs were allowed. The casino staff needs to get on the same page with this!
Finally the show started! A suspiciously Scottish voice introduced Randy! I enjoyed Randy’s portion of the show, even tho’ he had notes in his hand. Then it was Craig’s turn! All I’m going to say is that it was fantastic! I don’t want to give out any spoilers to ruin the show for anyone else. Craig was very energetic, and made full use of the whole stage. There were two large screens on either side of the stage so everyone could see him. The closing musical number was incredible! It was the fastest hour and a half of my life, and was over much too soon.
Unfortunately, my wish to meet Craig was crushed by the casino, who only allowed “high rollers” that chance. So I’m sorry friends, there are no pictures of Craig, no pictures of me and Craig, and no Craig signature in my copy of “American On Purpose”.

Stand Up Spoilers
The second and third accounts are from the RSA’s @RelukaHaske and @sjump54 who both have more details of the show itself. There are spoilers about what happens on stage. If you’re as excited as we were to hear about the new show, check it out! But don’t click on the arrow if you’re planning to see Craig live and don’t want to know what happens!
[stb id=”custom” caption=”Stand Up Spoilers” bgcolor=FFFFFF]
From @RelukaHaske:
The show was Hilarious! I had a blast. Randy Kagan opened the show and he didn’t seem to get that much response from the crowd. He talked a lot about his sobriety while being in a country with a pot leaf on their flag, and consulted his note card a lot.
After Randy finished his set, Bradley in his Leprechaun outfit and Jeff Arnold dressed like a genie wheeled a giant treasure chest out onto the stage. Inside the chest were Wavy and Sid, who sang a duet about rainbows (I can’t remember the name of the song.)
Finally, when the song was over, Craig walked on stage. He started off with, “It’s a great day for [slightly awkward pause] Canada!” The show was all new material, though he used the same ‘I’m going to tell you a joke’ framework as DTNTBS (a different joke though, the one about the 10 year old boy in a bra, panties and high heels smoking a cigar and drinking whiskey when his parents aren’t home.) He was hilarious; I couldn’t stop laughing the entire time I was there.
The show finished with Craig, Bradley (this time dressed in an outfit similar to Gunter’s leatherboy outfit,) Randy and Jeff (now in a tux) doing a dance number to Michael Franti’s “Say Hey (I Love You).” They were fantastic.
From @sjump54:
I can’t even begin to tell you how good Craig was tonight. He was so awesome and cussy and he made himself laugh so many times. I won’t say everything he did unless you ask me.
New music this time around. Some Enya, Doctor Who-y sounding important music. Then from off stage, Craig introduced Randy. Randy started out really, really slow. He had notes again. Several jokes fell flat. But he did better by the end. And then time for Craig.
New opening too. Bradley as the leprechaun and Jeff as the genie in Istanbul. They drug out a big chest, which I expect Craig to pop out, but no! I won’t say who, unless you DM me. Don’t want to spoil the surprise. But it was a musical number.
Then Craig. He had on jeans, black boots, the darker blue shirt (from Nashville), and gray sports jacket. He was so happy to be here. He loves Canadians. A lot of the humor was directed towards them. So I’m assuming the US shows will be a little different. He talked about babies, Hitler and nazis, an actress he worked with and would “visit” her trailer every day, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Jennifer Aniston, Shark Week, and much more. I laughed so hard. The closing musical number was Say Hey (I Love You), with Bradley dressed like Chris used to be (leather harness), Randy and Jeff (in tux). It was awesome.
The crowd was pretty good. A real mixed bag of young and old. I had good seats, 3rd row, just passed the end of stage right. The big screen was right in front of me, so I could really see Craig well.
Hope this isn’t too long, but I wanted to write it down before I forgot details. Now back downstairs for a drink and little gambling. Oh, no pictures. They were pretty strict until the end, when some lady in the front row took a picture of Craig, and he posed, showing both penises. (A joke from the show!)

Spoilers end here – Non-spoiler material continues below.
As you’re read, there appeared to be some confusion over whether still photographs were permitted at the show. From what we understand, while Craig and his management do not allow video to be taken at Craig’s live shows, they usually don’t mind still photos. However, management at the venues where he appears have policies that vary from place to place. For example, still pictures were not allowed in Denver back in March. But they have been allowed at most of the shows in the past. If you did manage to capture still pictures from Saturday’s show, please send them our way. We’d be happy to post them.
Thanks to all three roboskellies for sharing their stories with the rest of the RSA!
