Have Your Cake and Eat It Too
We’re just a few days away from Craig‘s birthday. Robot skeletons from all over the world are baking and taking pictures of the cakes they’re making or drawing to celebrate. There are more than two dozen pictures already posted. Check them out on the RSA’s special cake website.

Geoff as a Guest?
On the latest Guests listing from CBS, robot skeleton sidekick Geoff Petersen is listed as a guest for Monday’s show. We’re not sure what he and Craig will be talking about but it promises to be entertaining. Meanwhile, Geoff has been more chatty than usual on Thursday and Friday, thanks to Josh Robert Thompson in the studio. Josh tweeted:

Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker tweeted a fun fact on Friday:

Stealth Guest
Although his appearance was not promoted, Australian musician and comedian Tim Minchin was featured on the Late Late Show Thursday night.  He is known for his funny songs, which are a major part of his stage shows.  That was a nice surprise.

Meadows Media Mentions
New York Magazine thought Tim Meadows was getting philosophical about Secretariat on Wednesday night. BlackVoices.com focused on Tim spending time with the ladies.  And TVSquad.com talked about Tim’s early morning TV weather routine.

Is BBC America Too American?
A blogger at ShadowLocked.com wonders why BBC America is showing American programming.  The story mentions the proliferation of Doctor Who.

Ghosts in the Machine
The Irish Times profiles author Stewart Neville, who talks about his book The Ghosts of Belfast.  The article mentions that Craig’s production company has the movie rights to the novel.

The Hollywood page of Deadline.com is reporting that former Late Late Show host Craig Kilborn has signed a new development deal with ABC.

As Geoff Would Say, “Balls!”

When explorer and author Wendy Booker reached the North Pole at the end of April, she had the first kangaroo bits to make it that far north in her pocket.  On Tuesday’s show, Craig had a picture of them… complete with a Santa hat (Wendy’s team sent us the photo at left).  It doesn’t get much better than that.  Booker is returning home and we hope she’ll be back on the show sometime soon!  You can read Wendy’s posts from her trip on her website.

 

 

Buzz About Branagh and Montreal
Craig’s interview with actor/director Kenneth Branagh caught the attention of Hollywood.com, BBC America’s Anglophenia blog and New York Magazine.  Meanwhile, the Hollywood trade paper Variety picked up on the news of Craig’s hosting duties at the upcoming Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal in July.

Military Appreciation
Craig’s assistant Rebecca Tucker sent out a reminder today, urging support for an organization her boss has worked with overseas:

Who Is On Netflix?
The RSA’s @lafemmechiquita gave us the heads up that season five of  Doctor Who is now available for streaming on Netflix.  And that reminded us that Craig Ferguson’s Does This Need To Be Said will be available on Netflix starting May 20th, which is just over a week away.

Craig On Eleven
The Late Late Show is on Eleven in Australia and now episodes are available online for Australian viewers on the channel’s website.  The clips do not appear to play in the US.

Ace Of Cakes
The RSA’s @AnnieSunshine84 says she already has twenty cakes posted on her site with nearly twice that many still being promised.  Have you made your cake for Craig’s birthday on May 17th?  It can be a real one, a drawing or any other sort of cake you’d like.  Visit her cake page for more.

Wednesday on the Late Late Show, Craig welcomes back actor Tim Meadows and musician Colin Hay, formerly of the Australian 80’s pop band Men at Work.   Thursday, Craig talks with actress Mary Lynn Rajskub and author Lawrence Block.  The now twice-bumped author Edward Conlin did not appear Tuesday night due to the Kenneth Branagh interview running long.  We’ll let you know when he is rescheduled.

Montreal Looks Forward to Craig

Who Will Craig Host?

Toronto Tickets On Sale Soon

Tickets for Craig Ferguson‘s July 29th stand up comedy performance in Toronto go on sale soon. Under Massey Hall’s “FriendsFirst” program, if you are a member ($100 minimum contribution), you get first chance at tickets for the show beginning May 10th at 10am. If you are an American Express card holder, you get the next chance at tickets beginning May 11th at 10am. All other tickets go on sale Monday, May 16th at 10am. Details and links are on our Live Comedy Tour page. Craig sold out two shows in Toronto last year, so book early to avoid disappointment.  Craig himself tweeted early Monday morning:

Lollipop Theater Tweet-A-Thon
The Lollipop Theater Network Tweet-A-Thon ran throughout the day Saturday with the hashtag #lollipoptheater all over Twitter, raising awareness for a charity supported by Craig Ferguson that brings first-run movies to hospitalized children.  The group’s Twitter account @LollipopTheater reached 4000 followers just as the day was getting started and now boast more than 4700.  Although the Tweet-A-Thon ends, donations will continue to be accepted at the LTN website.   A big group of roboskellies were tweeting throughout the day.  Great job to everyone who helped out!

Alicia Witt Signs
Actress and singer Alicia Witt has signed a new management deal for music career, as reported by SonicScoop.com.  The last time she appeared on the Late Late Show, Craig invited her to bring her band and perform.

Doctor Who Degrees of Separation
According to BBC America, next week’s episode of Doctor Who was written by Neil Gaiman.  As we reported back in March, Craig was the voice for an animated short based on a Neil Gaiman poem.  Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb for the heads up.
