Dragon 2 Fires Up
Work is getting underway in earnest on How To Train Your Dragon 2, sequel to the popular animated film featuring the voice talents of Craig Ferguson, which is due out June 20, 2014.  Stories are in the web-based Examiner newspaper and Collider.com.

More on Beckham
The media buzz over David Beckham‘s appearance on the Late Late show is still going strong with stories about his meeting with the Queen in FemaleFirst.co.uk, DailyIndia.com, Glamour Magazine and the Daily Mail… and plenty of stories about where he’ll get his next tattoo including the Daily Star, MTV.co.uk, DigitalSpy.com, SugarScape.com, EntertainmentWise.com, iol.co.za, TruthDive.com, Now Magazine, New Magazine and ContactMusic.com.

Red Dwarf Memories
The RSA’s@Fronneke spotted an appearance by actress and comedienne Hattie Hayridge, recorded at a science fiction convention talking about her time on the British show Red Dwarf.  At about five minutes into the clip, she talks about an actor who made a guest appearance on the show… one Craig Ferguson.  Her story explains how she ended up as a guest on the Late Late Show, which you can see here.

Craig and Stephen
The RSA’s @BeeEssBee noticed that Craig’s one-on-one interview with the lovely Stephen Fry has been making its way around the tumblrverse.  If you haven’t watched it in a while, it’s great fun.

Some Inspiration
On Thursday, Craig tweeted an interesting link about some thoughts people had at the end of their lives.  The site was down at the time, probably overwhelmed by traffic.  But it’s back up now and worth a look.

Tonight’s Guests
Friday on the Late Late Show, Craig’s guests are actress Carla Gugino and Australian actress Rebel Wilson.  CBS tweeted:

Carla Gugino dishes on her penguin co-stars & Rebel Wilson describes Australian gang life on #LateLateShow w/ @CraigyFerg 12:37am ET/PT

Rebel Wilson added:

I’m on Friday night’s Craig Ferguson ya’ll, talking about my gang member/ dog showing past.

And Josh Robert Thompson says:

Thurs & Fri LIVE GEOFF PETERSON = Glittery Balls of Epic-Sized Proportions. Yes, I am the robot. No, my genitals aren’t in customs. #RSA

Beckham Gets Noticed
Does having David Beckham as a guest on a late night talk show get some press?  Apparently so.  The UK’s Daily Mirror reports on how the Queen asked David about his wife’s pregnancy.  But most of the media outlets reporting on his appearance wanted to talk about whether he would get a tattoo on his nether regions, including The Sun, the Daily Star, Babble.com,  Metro.co.uk, opposingviews.com, Instinct Magazine, MusicRooms.com, RadarOnline.com and Monsters & Critics.  FoxNews.com reported on Beckham’s comments about President Obama.  And the websites UInterview.com and The Hollywood Reporter talked about Craig’s  joke about Congressman Weiner.

How Craig Brings the Funny
The Seattle Times did a nice interview with Craig and the story has spread around the internet.

What Makes Craig’s Show Work?
CelebrityCafe.com takes a swing at what makes Craig and the Late Late Show different from the rest of the late night pack.  Thanks to Chris for sending us the link!

Geoff’s Film Potential
Could Geoff Petersen make it in the movies?  The RSA’s @doxieone1 came up with a poster that looks pretty good to us.  Josh Robert Thompson even retweeted it.

AWESOME! RT @doxieone1: Movie poster featuring Morgan, @CraigyFerg and Geoff. http://bit.ly/k12KJb

Josh also gave Late Late Show regular Bradley Laise a hard time:

@BradleyLaise I love working with you, man. But for pete’s sake, put some clothes on!

Enjoying the Band
During a recording Thursday afternoon of The Goldberg Sisters (Adam Goldberg‘s band, which will appear on the Late Late Show next Tuesday, June 7th), Craig tweeted:

Whoah! Watching @TheAdamGoldberg and his band record a song for the show. Actually very very good. Who knew? #thatsareliefcauseilikehim

For their part, the band tweeted:

The @goldbergsisters are about to do something scary that can’t yet be tweeted. Celeste is a picture of calm. Adam is throwing up on her.

Craig added:

The legendary Dick Van Dyke on the show tonight. The actor not the pubic beard style. Although… maybe it’s time for something new.

That reminded us of @AnnieSunshine84‘s idea last year… wondering what Craig might look like with a goatee.  It could happen.

On Thursday evening, Craig re-tweeted an interesting article:

“I wish I didn’t work so hard.” Nurse posts 5 most common death-bed regrets she has heard: http://cot.ag/ivZFq0 As of Thursday evening, the link was not working… the site may be overwhelmed with people checking it out.

Tonight’s Guests
Thursday on the Late Late Show, Craig talks with actor/author Dick Van Dyke and author Kristin Gore.  Friday, Craig welcomes back actress Carla Gugino. CBS tweeted:

Dick van Dyke & @CraigyFerg reminisce about their comic idols, and Kristen Gore reveals her family connections #LateLateShow 12:37am ET/PT

Becks on Craig
Soccer star David Beckham headlines Wednesday night’s Late Late Show.  Craig re-tweeted a post by the LA Galaxy:

TUNE IN: #LAGalaxy Midfielder David Beckham to appear tonight on The Late Late Show With @CraigyFerg on @CBS at 12:35a.m

He then added:

Hey @LAGalaxy don’t you think calling Becks a”midfielder” is a bit of an undersell? How about “legend” or “magically gifted soccer dreamboat”

And the Galaxy agreed!

@CraigyFerg Thanks for the correction! From now on when we mention Beckham we’ll also include “magically gifted soccer dreamboat.”

Raleigh Web Editor on LLS
A web editor for WRAL-TV in North Carolina was picked out of the audience at the Late Late Show, so the station did a story about her surprise appearance. Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb for spotting the story:

Still can’t believe I was on The Late Late Show with @CraigyFerg last night! Here’s the video on @WRAL: http://bitly.com/mwxvZb

Aren’t Neighbors Fun?
Late Late Show assistant producer Andrea Wayland‘s summer is off to a bumpy start but she got some suggestions:

Oh joy! My noisy neighbor has now taken up the flute in addition to the saxophone. Can one person be this lucky? Guess so! // Some good ideas out there on my neighbor dilema! I wish I had the keyboard from Ferris Bueller that plays the barf noise. MMm ohhh yea.

Craig on Beckham
Back in 2007, Craig did a great sketch about David Beckham in the locker room.  Thanks to the RSA’s @SexyCraigFerg for finding the clip.

Tonight’s Guests
Wednesday on the Late Late Show, Craig welcomes soccer player David Beckham and actress Shohreh Aghdashloo.  On Thursday, Craig interviews actor/author Dick Van Dyke and author Kristin Gore.  CBS tweeted on Wednesday:

2Nite @CraigyFerg smells David Beckham & Shohreh Aghdashloo, plus @GeoffTheRobot celebrates Morgan Freeman’s BDay on #LateLateShow 12:37am

Oh Canada!
Starting this fall, the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson can be seen every weeknight at 12:35am on Global TV in Canada. An exact start date was not mentioned in the reports we’ve seen but September would be a safe bet. Global made the announcement at its annual meeting with advertisers, which was reported by tmcnet.com, cnw.ca (a Canadian news wire service) and The Hollywood Reporter.  Craig is already on the Eleven network in Australia… now we need to get him on in the UK!

Booking A Guest the Twitter Way
Craig opened a dialog on Twitter Tuesday with British comedian and writer Charlie Higson.  We’re not sure what the initial bet is about but here’s the back and forth:
[stextbox id=”custom”]@monstroso Hey Charlie. Am I wrong or do you owe me a fiver?

@CraigyFerg you can whistle for it pal.

@monstroso Wheee. I’ll let you off with it if you come on my show in America and plug your books.

@CraigyFerg I am booking the flights now…. actually I was planning to come out to NY in July. Is that where you’re based now?

@monstroso. nah LA. But it’s pretty close.[/stextbox]Higson added a tweet he later deleted that basically said, hey if you’re serious, let’s make it happen.  So perhaps on a future Late Late Show, we can find out what the bet was all about.

After that exchange, another actor named Jonathan Kydd chimed in:

@CraigyFerg Hello Craig. I see you is now de man. We did the Ferguson Theory 17 years ago! Halp!

We haven’t seen a response from Craig but it’s certainly proof of how Twitter can connect people.

No More Daleks?
A story in Britain’s Sun newspaper stirred up some Doctor Who fans, when it was reported that the doctor will not longer be facing his longtime enemies, the daleks.  The show’s top writer, Steven Moffat tweeted a clarification that he only meant that the daleks won’t be featured this season… not that they are gone forever:

Daleks: I was talking about THIS series. Stand down.

Dirk Weems Returns
Dirk Weems, c0-host of ESPN-UK and former mad footballer hadn’t tweeted since last June… but suddenly did over the holiday weekend, as the RSA’s eagle-eyed @sreczek discovered.  Could this mean a return of Dirk Weems to the Late Late Show… perhaps when David Beckham appears on the show Wednesday?  We’re crossing our fingers!
