From The Panhandle To The Left Coast
Craig Ferguson helped the Florida State Seminoles celebrate their homecoming with his stand up comedy show on Friday night, before heading south to Fort Myers for his Saturday night appearance at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall.  We’re told that several robot skeletons made the trip to Tallahassee and we’re hoping to hear their stories and maybe even see some pictures from the show.  Are you going to the show in Fort Myers or in Hollywood, Florida this weekend?  Let us know and share your stories with the rest of the Robot Skeleton Army!

Craig on the Tweety
Craig was tweeting backstage before and after the show in Tallahassee on Friday night, first sending out a photo of his hotel room:

http://twitpic.com/7fwgla My shagadellic hotel room in Tallahassee FLA. I might have to move here.

He then re-tweeted some comments from fans and added his own spin:
[stextbox id=”custom”]“@amyentendu: Sitting next to old drunk people with @ktgmoney to see @craigyferg :3” Sorry. I think it might be relatives of mine.

“@Edgar_Allan_Coe: @craigyferg to take the stage soon! My pants are literally itching in anticipation. I think” mine too. I hope.

“@chickey93: waiting to see @CraigyFerg. I’m the farthest away from the stage I can be :(” run down front & say ur with the old drunk peeps[/stextbox]
One fan, @starting_out, tweeted:

@CraigyFerg is tweeting backstage while I’m tweeting about him being backstage. OMG. That shit cray, Ferguson.

And Craig added:

Put feathers in my hair to try & be Seminole-y for FSU powwow but I just looked like an old lady who had recently been attacked by a pigeon.

He even sent a picture of the crowd, taken from the stage:

http://twitpic.com/7g3rn6 audience from FSU pow wow. You kids were adorable. Let’s be BFF s.

Robin and Comedy
AOL’s TV Reply enjoyed Craig’s conversation with Robin Williams about the dangers of offending with comedy.

Going After That Younger Audience
The RSA’s @philips_mommysent us a great picture:

Anime With A French Twist
The RSA’s sharp-eyed @shomangaka spotted a Toyota commercial for Japanese television which features none other than Craig’s French actor friend Jean Reno in the role of a popular children’s manga character Doraemon.  Watch for him to pop out of a drawer at the end of the ad:

Thanks to AnimeNewsNetwork.com for posting the clip and an in-depth description of the ads and the campaign.

Tonight’s Guests
Friday on the Late Late Show, Craig chats with actor/comedian Don Rickles and actress Beth Behrs, while Geoff Peterson is voiced by LLS announcer Shadoe Stevens. LLS Producer Michael Naidus tweeted:

Check out @DonRickles with Craig tonight as several lucky audience members find out the “benefits” of front-row seats!

After Craig wraps up his Florida road trip, he and the team at CBS Television City have the week off for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Thanks to the magic of television (and the wisdom of pre-recorded segments) we’ll get to enjoy three all-new episodes of the Late Late Show Monday through Wednesday.  That will be followed by a pair of visits from the re-run fairy on Thursday and Friday before new episodes resume on Monday, November 28th.

Guest Update

Thomas Lennon

The guest list has been updated through December 2nd with the addition of country singer Justin Moore and the band NEEDTOBREATHE.  Actor Parker Young has been added to the future tapings list and we’ve learned that Geoff will be voiced by a guest for three more episodes next week.  Thomas Lennon will operate the bony sidekick for all three shows.  See the most up-to-date information on our Guests page any time.

Gearing Up For Florida
Craig Ferguson is getting ready for a weekend of stand up comedy on the road in Florida and the Sunshine State is getting ready for him, including the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper, the Sun Sentinel and the Miami Herald, which misspells the name of his autobiography but does a nice interview nonetheless.  Craig will be on stage in Tallahassee, Ft. Myers and Hollywood, Florida (just north of Miami) over the weekend, starting with homecoming festivities at Florida State on Friday night.  Tickets are still available for each show although we are told that all three shows are getting close to being sold out.  We have links to all of the venues, times and tickets on our Live Comedy Tour page.  These are likely Craig’s last live shows for 2011.  If we hear of any new dates for 2011 or the start of 2012, we’ll pass them along.

Rabbits and Flowers
AOL’s TV replay takes a moment to show Craig, trying to get Alex Kingston to be naughty.  Meanwhile, Neil Gaimanenjoyed Alex’s compliment to him and tweeted:

Just watched tonight’s @CraigyFerg. Alex Kingston says she fancies me. This is not a #humblebrag. This is a full-tilt, glorious, YES! #brag.

From the ‘They Clearly Don’t Get It’ Files

The Scottish version of the Sun tabloid seemed mystified by Ewan McGregor and Craig messing around with the censors.  We’re pretty sure the studio audience was delighted.  Meanwhile, the Insider.com has been more like the outsider, and are just now figuring out that there have been guest voices for Geoff Peterson for nearly two weeks.

Sending Off Regis in Style
Few people have as much fun with Regis Philbin as David Letterman, so don’t miss Thursday’s Late Show when Dave gives his pal Regis best wishes on wrapping up his longtime stint on “Live” Friday morning in New York.  Regis will be a guest on the Late Late Show in early December as well.

Training Your Dragon
Craig (as Gobber the Belch) reminds us that it takes some time to learn how to train dragons, in this great clip from Book of Dragons, the new DVD/Blu-ray offering from Dreamworks for the holidays.

Tonight’s Guests

Thursday on the Late Late Show, Craig welcomes the force that is actor/comedian Robin Williams and we’ll hear the music of Black Dub, while Geoff is voiced by actor Jason Schwartzman.  Then on Friday, LLS announcer Shadoe Stevens takes Geoff’s controls while Craig chats with actor/comedian Don Rickles and actress Beth Behrs.

Brave Trailer
As we first reported here on Monday, the new, full-length trailer for the Disney/Pixar animated feature film Brave was due out this week and we have it for you now, thank to our friends at TrailerAddict.com.  The trailer gives us the best glimpse yet into the story of Princess Merida and her adventure. Although we don’t get to hear the voice of Craig Ferguson as Lord MacIntosh in this clip, we do get to see his character, complete with blue face paint. And the trailer sets the stage for and exciting film with plenty of drama and a little bit of Pixar’s trademark humor. We recommend watching it in full screen:

Video courtesy: Disney/Pixar

Anglotopia.net has the most complete written description of the film released so far and ropeofsilicon.com has a nice gallery of screen captures. Release dates for the film in 2D and 3D versions in 2012: Australia – June 21st, United States – June 22nd, Scotland – August 3rd, Rest of Europe, August 17th.

Cussing Dots
AOL’s TV Replay caught Ewan McGregor taking advantage of Craig’s little black dots to say a few words on Tuesday’s show.

Gervais To Host Globes Again
After very mixed reviews of his hosting skills last year, the Golden Globes have invited Ricky Gervais to host the awards ceremony for a third time, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Adkins to Return

Fresh on the heels of being named Country Weekly magazine’s “Sexiest Man,” Country singer Trace Adkins will be coming back to the Late Late Show on December 7th, according to AllAccess.com.

Forever Lazy
The always busy Rebecca Tucker, who runs Craig’s production company, is the last person anyone would call lazy but that didn’t stop her from modeling the “Forever Lazy” adult footed pajamas.  After a friend posted a picture of her wearing the outfit, she tweeted that it is her comfy office wear.  We like it!

Tonight’s Guests
Wednesday on the Late Late Show, watch for actor Michael Ian Black and actress Alex Kingston from Doctor Who, and listen for actress Angela Kinsey as the voice of Geoff Peterson.  Then on Thursday, actor Jason Schwartzman takes a turn running Geoff while Craig tries to contain actor/comedian Robin Williams and listen to the music of Black Dub.

Lunch with Charlie
Craig Ferguson wasn’t going to let his friend Charlie Higson travel all of the way to the States for just a few minutes on television Monday night.  The two got together for lunch in Los Angeles Tuesday to spend some more time catching up.  And as Craig tweeted, the comedian turned author made the right choice from the menu:

Had lunch with my old pal @monstroso who writes horror novels for young adults about flesh eating zombies. He had ribs. Apt, I thought.

Warming Up for Florida
Comedian Joe Matarese tweeted that he will be opening for Craig on this weekend’s stand up comedy tour run through Florida:

Opening for @CraigyFerg this weekend in Ft Myers, Fl, and Hollywood, Fl. I want to thank Craig for putting me up in the same hotel. Good man

No New Brave Trailer Yet
We’ve been keeping an eye out for n new trailer for the film Brave but haven’t seen it pop up yet.  We’ll keep you posted.  If you missed our most recent post, check out the latest still pictures of some key characters including the painted blue face of Lord MacIntosh.

Dancing Ewan
Ewan McGregor is making what we’re pretty sure is his fourth appearance on the Late Late Show this week.  He has been making the show an annual visit, including this appearance in 2009:

Video courtesy: SandyDE543

Tonight’s Guests
Tuesday on the Late Late Show, Craig welcomes back fellow Scot Ewan McGregor along with comedian Jeff Ceasario and comedienne Paula Poundstone as the voice of Geoff.   CBS tweeted:

2nite @CraigyFerg & Ewan McGregor almost take off for Scotland, plus Paula Poundstone is @GeoffTheRobot on #LateLateShow 12:37am!

Actress Angela Kinsey will provide Geoff’s voice on Wednesday, while Craig interviews actor Michael Ian Black and Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston.

New Brave Images
With the release of the new Disney/Pixar animated feature film Brave less than a year away, more details are slowly coming out.  On Monday, we got a look at the first new images to go public in several months.  First, we see the three noblemen who are close associates of the King.  From left to right, they are Lord MacGuffin (voiced by Kevin McKidd), Lord Dingwall (voiced by Robbie Coltrane) and Lord Macintosh (voiced by none other than Craig Ferguson).

Next is a look at the royal couple, Queen Elinor (voiced by Emma Thompson) and King Fergus (voiced by Billy Connolly), the strict parents of the film’s lead character.  Is it just us or does “King Fergus” have a nice ring to it?

And finally, a new look at the heroine of the picture, the feisty Princess Merida, (voiced by Kelly MacDonald).  We have been showing you new stills from the film as they are released, including the first close-up of Lord MacIntosh back in June.   Our friends at HeyUGuys.co.uk were, as always, among the first to get their hands on the new pictures.  The film debuts June 21st, 2012 in Australia, June 22nd in the US and in August in the UK.  Our thanks to the RSA’s @MissGaroully, @chromajoy and others for tweeting us when they first spotted the new photos.  We always appreciate a heads up!

New Brave Trailer Coming Soon

Meanwhile, the San Jose Mercury News reports that a new, longer Brave trailer is expected to be released on Tuesday.  The first trailer, which we featured here on the website in June, runs approximately one minute and was primarily intended to set the story’s dark mood.  The new trailer is said to be longer and more in-depth with more details about the story that will unfold in the film.  When it becomes available, we’ll be sure to link you to it.

CBS Announces Mid-Season Scheduloe

The good news for CBS?  It is maintaining its position as the most-watched television network in the country.   The bad news?  The price of that success means there is no room for the Craig Ferguson-hosted game show Celebrity Name Game in the winter schedule.  As we reported here in July, Celebrity Name Game is produced by Courtney Cox and David Arquette and features contestants guessing celebrity names based on clues.  Two pilot episodes were filmed this summer featuring Craig as the host, to give CBS a chance to see how it looked.   But on Monday, the network announced its mid-season schedule with only two changes:  A Rob Schneider half-hour comedy called ¡Rob! will air Thursday’s at 8:30pm ET/PT in place of Rules of Engagement but only through the early spring, when Rules will return.  And Undercover Boss will be back on Sundays at 8pm ET/PT to fill the gap between seasons of The Amazing Race, which will also come back later in the spring.  As Zap2It.com and others reported, CBS is also keeping an hour-long cop drama called 2-2 in its pocket in case one of its hour-long shows falls on hard times and needs replacing, which at this point seems unlikely.   Monday’s announcement that the winter schedule does not include the game show doesn’t mean it’s gone for good but we probably won’t see it any time soon.

Puppets Galore
DigitalSpy.com picked up on Craig’s comments in this month’s Playboy magazine about how he started using puppets on the Late Late Show.

Brow Lifts and Feathers
Craig attempts to use his necktie to simulate a brow lift and smells a feather before sending us off to our late night television fate for the evening.

Tonight’s Guests
Monday on the Late Late Show, Craig welcomes actress Poppy Montgomery and author/producer/actor/comedian Charlie Higson, while Geoff Peterson’s voice is provided by actress Lauren Graham.  Tuesday, we’ll get an extra does of Scottish charm when actor Ewan McGregor returns, along with comedian Jeff Ceasario and comedienne Paula Poundstone providing Geoff’s voice.

Sunshine State Awaits
Craig Ferguson will be on the road this weekend, visiting three Florida cities with his stand up comedy tour.  First, he’ll headline homecoming festivities at Florida State University on Friday.  Next up will be Fort Myers on Saturday on the left coast, followed by Hollywood (near Miami) on Sunday on the right coast.  Tickets are still available for all three shows, although because Friday’s show in Tallahassee is general admission and open to students for free, the sooner you get tickets, the better.  You can find out dates, times, venue information and ticket links on our Live Comedy Tour page.  Unless an extra show pops up unexpectedly, these three shows are most likely Craig’s last live appearances for 2011.  So far, we have not seen any confirmed dates for 2012 but as soon as we hear about them, we’ll be sure to post them here.

Bitsie Bonus
Recent LLS guest Bitsie Tulloch was among many hoping to see a bit more of Craig, as she tweeted:

Excellent @craigyferg interview for Playboy. Funny, sad, honest, and smart. Still …wish he’d gone for a pictorial! “http://t.co/iGUaqjWQ”

Dragons And Existentialism

Back in March of 2010, Craig was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and as usual, joked his way through the questions and managed to touch on some deeper truths.

Earth At Night
Thanks to the RSA’s @NancyInTampa for retweeting Craig’s friend @badastronomer, who sent out the link to a spectacular video. It is a series of time-lapse views of the earth, using a low-light camera mounted on the International Space Station. You’ll see the northern lights, clouds, oceans, city lights and lightning flashes from thunderstorms, all creating an amazing view of the planet.

This Week’s Guests

Alex Kingston

It’s another week of all-new episodes of the Late Late Show, beginning Monday when Craig interviews actress Poppy Montgomery and an old friend, author/actor/producer and comedian Charlie Higson.  Geoff’s voice will be provided by actress Lauren Graham.  On Tuesday, Scottish actor Ewan McGregor returns, plus we’ll see comedian Jeff Ceasario and hear Geoff voiced by comdienne Paula Poundstone.  Wednesday, Craig chats with actor Michael Ian Black and actress Alex Kingston while Geoff will be under the control of actress Angela Kinsey.  Actor/Comedian Robin Williams takes over the studio on Thursday, when we’ll hear music by Black Dub and Geoff will be voiced by actor Jason Schwartzman.  And on Friday, actor/Comedian Don Rickles and actress Beth Behrs are Craig’s guests and Geoff will be operated by LLS announcer Shadoe Stevens.

Picturing Craig
We’re not sure if Craig Ferguson is just being modest or if he is saving our eyes, when he tweets:

Playboy interviewed me but rejected my pictorial. Probably for the best http://www.playboy.com/magazine/playboy-interview-craig-ferguson/2

We’re just glad to have the chance to read more insights from our favorite late night host.  December’s Playboy cover girl, television poker tournament host Leeann Tweedenresponded:

@CraigyFerg Ha! I got the pictorial! Haven’t seen you since the USO Gala a few yrs ago! Hope you & the wife are well! twitpic.com/7d4n0k

New Book
Perhaps one of the most exciting things in the Playboy interview was Craig’s reassurance that he has been working hard on his new book.  In previous interviews, he has said that his next book would likely be The Sphynx of the Mississippi, a sequel to Between The Bridge and The River.  No date has been announced for its publication but we’re looking forward to reading it!

Week Two of Guest Geoff Voices
A second week of guest voices for Geoff Peterson is on the way, with the voice talents of Lauren Graham, Paula Poundstone, Angela Kinsey, Jason Schwartzman and Shadoe Stevens.

Geoff’s Voice
Geoff’s usual voice, Josh Robert Thompson, has been in South Africa taping commercials but this weekend was able to post a new highlight reel that starts with his name being mentioned in a newscast on the local Los Angeles CBS station and includes some of his favorite moments.

Mid-November Holidays

Grace Kelly

Saturday November 12th is the birthday of sculptor Auguste Rodin and actress turned princess Grace Kelly, as well as Chicken Soup for the Soul Day.  Sunday November 13th is World Kindness Day, the anniversary of the invention of artificial snow and the anniversary of Disney’s original Fantasia, which stands more than 70 years later as perhaps the greatest animated feature film of all time.  If you’ve never seen it, you owe it to yourself to experience the magic of what the marriage of music and animation aspires to be.  Here is just a tiny sample:
