The Late Late Show in Scotland?
As we first reported early Friday morning, the UK’s Daily Record newspaper reports that Craig Ferguson is in talks to bring the Late Late Show to Scotland for a week, taping episodes much like he did in Paris last summer.  In addition, the paper suggests he might book a stand up comedy appearance or two while in the country, including a possible appearance at Edinburgh’s famed Festival Fringe later in the year.  The unnamed “insider” source said Craig could tape episodes as early as March but the Festival is held in August, so the details don’t appear to be worked out.  Craig first came to wider public attention as a stand up comedian at the festival in the 1980’s and his sister Lynn has performed there as well.

Obviously, this is preliminary information and based largely on the paper’s unnamed source but it would be exciting to see Craig take the show to his homeland. We’ll keep you posted if and when further details are announced.  If any of our Euroskelly friends in the greater Scotland area get wind of any developments, please let us know!

High Praise, Indeed
Speaking at the winter TV press tour in Los Angeles this week, actor and The Price Is Right host Drew Carey compared his friend Craig Ferguson to the late great Johnny Carson.  That remark got picked up by the Washington Post, the Salt Lake Tribune and other media outlets.  We couldn’t imagine a better compliment to a talk show host and we couldn’t agree more. Thanks to the RSA’s @Miss Graoully, Bruce and many others for the links.

Flying to LA to do routine maintenance on @GeoffTheRobot. Turn your head and cough, Geoff.

He later added:

Just lubricated @GeoffTheRobot‘s ball joints. They were showing excessive wear. #notmakingthisup

[stextbox id=”custom” bgcolor=E6E6FA]UPDATE: Craig Ferguson may be bringing the Late Late Show to Scotland. Quoting an “insider”, the UK’s Daily Record newspaper reports that Craig has been in discussions to travel to Scotland in March and record a week’s worth of shows, similar to the show’s excursion to Paris last summer. In addition, the paper suggests he might book a stand up comedy appearance or two while in the country.

Obviously, this is preliminary information and based on an unnamed source but it would be exciting to see Craig take the show to his homeland. We’ll keep you posted if and when further details are announced.[/stextbox]

@CraigyFerg Rearrange Geoff Peterson and you get “Free Gent Poofs.”

Craig also made an appeal to legendary British actor Leslie Phillips:

Dearest @LesliePhillips_ Do come to LA & be on my show. I haven’t seen you in forever & we could really use some class in the joint.
