Rochester, NY Private Show
Campus publications from the University of Rochester are reporting that Craig will appear as part of the school’s homecoming festivities during the second week of October.  He’ll be the “featured comedian” on Friday, October 12th.  The school has advised us that this show is closed to the public. Tickets will be available only to students, alumni, faculty and staff of the University. Craig appeared at the nearby Rochester Institute of Technology in 2010.

Scotland Rocks
The New York Times was among the media outlets mentioning the upcoming Late Late Show episodes in Scotland, and mentioning the Glasgow band The Imagineers, who will be performing on one of the shows. The band thought that was pretty cool and tweeted:

The Imagineers are mentioned in the New York Times. Madness…… http://fb.me/1fsTWgeqG

Dick Clark
One of the most influential figures of American popular culture has died at the age of 82. It would be difficult to overstate Dick Clark‘s impact on the country in terms of radio, television, popular music, marketing and advertising, civil rights at a time when seeing blacks and whites together on television was rare, and the importance of young people in society. As a radio DJ, television host, producer and distributor, he was a powerful force in broadcasting with shows including his signature dance program American Bandstand, game shows like the $10,000 Pyramid (and its many successors), awards shows like the Golden Globes, “bloopers” specials with co-host Ed McMahon which showed outtakes from movies and television shows where favorite stars made funny verbal or physical slip-ups, and for the past 40 years, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, where he rang in the new year in New York’s Times Square. He helped generations of people around the world dance, laugh and have fun. After receiving several Emmy Awards, a Peabody and inductions in many halls of fame, Clark humbly accepts a lifetime achievement award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, with characteristic class.

Tour Begins Thursday
Craig Ferguson’s west coast tour gets underway Thursday in Tucson. Our map showing Craig’s Live Comedy Tour locations is getting pretty full, with yesterday’s announcement of new dates for the east coast in October. There are still a couple of open dates in October that could be filled, so watch for updates. We’re also keeping our ear to the ground about Craig appearing in Las Vegas later this year. As soon as we hear about any additions to the schedule, we’ll be sure to pass them along.

We Want Your Stories
Are you going to see Craig perform live during the next ten days? We want to hear from you! If you are attending any of Craig’s live shows, please send us your still photos and tell us your stories. Just use the Contact Us form here on the site to tell us about your adventure and we’ll be happy to share it with the rest of the robot skeleton army. It’s not all about the show, either. Tell us about your trip to get there, your visit to the city where Craig is performing, what you had for dinner, the theater… the whole experience! If your story is a bit longer and you hit the character limit on the form, just break it into chunks and send each part separately. Or if you post a story on your personal blog, just send us the link. There are many skellies who won’t be able to go to the shows, so your stories are their chance to get a taste of the fun. Please contact us or tweet us if you have questions.

A note about photos: Some venues allow still photos during the show and some don’t. Check your tickets or with an usher before taking any photos and please turn off your flash. Also, remember that video is not allowed at any of Craig’s shows!

Tonight’s Guests
Tuesday on the Late Late Show, Craig interviews actor Kevin Kline and actress Alice Eve.  Wednesday, Craig’s guests are actor Michael Sheen and author Michael Ian Black.  On Monday night, musician M. New Live Shows
Craig Ferguson has announced new details about his October east coast tour, adding five dates to those we have already reported here: Newly added to the schedule are Atlantic City, NJ; Easton, PA; Hershey, PA; Greensburg, PA and the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. The week of shows run between October 5th and 13th, and includes the previously announced shows in Ridgefield, CT and New York City.  There are a pair of open dates, October 11th and 12th, so keep an eye on our Live Comedy Tour page. The folks at CBS opened the publicity floodgates on Monday afternoon, posting a news release that details five upcoming episodes of the Late Late Show in Scotland. As we’ve been reporting here since getting word of the tapings earlier this spring, Craig Ferguson will give us a tour of his native country May 14th-18th. After taking some heat recently for criticizing his hometown, Craig said, “This whole trip to Scotland, I can’t tell you how lovely it is. How great the people are, how beautiful the towns are. I’m shocked… my memory is completely wrong!”

Ariel Tweto

Among the guests during the week will be Mila Kunis, Michael Clarke Duncan, Rashida Jones, David Sedaris, Ariel Tweto and Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond. Also on the schedule are local Glasgow rock band The Imagineers, who will perform one of their own songs as well as their rendition of the Late Late Show theme song.

Edinburgh Castle

Craig will visit Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cumbernauld and the historic city of Arbroath. He will show us Edinburgh Castle, The Royal Mile, Calton Hill, Glamis Castle and Kelvingrove Art Gallery, as well as his childhood home and high school.

Among the media covering the CBS announcement of the shows are BroadwayWorld.com, the Sacramento Bee, Yahoo and the Chicago Sun-Times.
