Back in LA
Craig Ferguson is home in Los Angles, gearing up for another string of all-new episodes of the Late Late Show for the month of May.  The RSA’s @skousehouse and Brian were among the people in the audience at Craig’s shows in Portland on Friday night. @skoushouse posted five photos on our Facebook page leading up to the show and Brian snapped a quick picture of Craig on stage. Apparently, no photos were allowed by the Aladdin Theater during the performance, which does happen at some of the venues along the way.

@skousehouse tells us that she was able to give some gifts for Craig to a stage hand and that although she didn’t get a chance to meet him, he did look directly at her twice during the show and that he is gorgeous. Sounds like she had a great time seeing Craig in person. Thanks to her and to Brian for the photos!

Correspondents Dinner

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel performed as the featured comedian at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner Saturday night, an honor Craig received in 2008. The Huffington Post has excerpts from eight recent performances at the dinner, including Craig’s.

More on the Imagineers
The website Scotsman.com has an in-depth story about the band, The Imagineers, who will be featured when the Late Late Show visits Scotland throughout the week of May 14-18. Thanks to the RSA’s @MissGraoully for the link!

TARDIS Time
Entertainment Weekly and Newsday saw and enjoyed the Scotland preview video, as did many Doctor Who fans, who spotted the familiar blue police call box prominently featured. BBC America was quick to point out the Doctor Who connection as well. During the week of taping back in March, the head of Craig’s production company, Rebecca Tucker, had a chance to step inside the TARDIS to see if it really is bigger on the inside:

The perks of working for Craig include Traveling via tardis http://pic.twitter.com/VPUwyWyI

He’ll enjoy a Sunday off and then be back in the studio on Monday for a string of all-new shows. Your next opportunity to see Craig performing comedy live on stage will be in September, when he’ll be appearing for three nights at the Venetian hotel and resort in Las Vegas. Then, he’ll be in the northeast in October for a week’s worth of shows in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. You can find details about all of Craig’s upcoming shows on our Live Comedy Tour page.

Craig’s Apology to Aussies
The Canberra Times newspaper got wind of Craig’s apology on Thursday’s show for his recent jokes about the Australian capitol.

Salmond Boogies

The Scottish Sun newspaper noticed that Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond was dancing in Craig’s preview video for the upcoming week of shows from his homeland. Also in the video was the young actor playing Craig as a kid. His grandmother tweeted:

@CraigyFerg Loved the video. My grandson, Jordan James Malone played the part of young Craig. He had a brilliant time. Thanks for that. x

Promo Lyrics
Ask and ye shall receive, it seems: The RSA’s @Colleen_Byrne asked the Glasgow band The Imagineers to post the lyrics to their song used in Craig’s Scotland promotional video. Sure enough, they posted them on their Facebook page. Great job, Colleen! And as the RSA’s @pibbles8 discovered, the full-length version of “Imagineer” is available on iTunes.

Fans Dig Craig
Craig fans have been enjoying the live shows this week, including the RSA’s @Candacenyc2phx, who saw the show in Chandler, Arizona and tweeted:

I saw @CraigyFerg in Phoenix, at the @WildHorsePass! My bff2 and I had a great time!!! She has to hear all of my crazy CF stories, so she got 2 see what I am always raving about! I guess @TheCussingBunny was too scared to show up! LOL!! So glad we got to see Craig.
BTW, it’s was only a high of 83 today, apparently the heat was turned up for CF’s visit! 🙂
On a sad note, I am experiencing ticket envy, I’d love to see him at the Paley Center!
On a happy note, I did get my Craig Live Fix!

Did you see any of Craig’s shows on the west coast?  Please tell us about your experience!  Tweet us a short message, a link to your blog or use our new-and-improved Contact Us page to send us your story and pictures.  We’d enjoy sharing your adventure with the rest of the RSA.

Portland’s High Street
Comedian Ted Alexandro, who has been opening Craig’s shows this week, spotted a fun store while ambling around Portland on Friday:

I’m opening for @craigyferg at The Aladdin in Portland tonight. I just went for a walk and stumbled upon this shop. http://img.ly/hvX4

Scotland Preview
Excitement is building for the week of May 14-18 when Craig Ferguson takes the Late Late Show to Scotland. On Thursday, CBS released a preview video of the week’s shows, featuring the Glasgow-based band The Imagineers. In the video, Craig, Geoff, Secretariat and several of Craig’s guests dance to the music as we get a look at some of the locations he’ll visit, what he’ll be wearing (including a kilt) and more of what we can expect when the shows are broadcast next month. Take a look!

Sometimes, Craig takes a little break from Twitter. While this can get people a little worked up, we said it here a few weeks ago: Fear not, needy tweeters. It was only a matter of time before Craig decided to come back. When he did on Thursday, it was to tweet everyone a link to the Scotland preview video. We hope he enjoyed the break and we’re glad to see him back!

Medford and Portland

Craig performed to a sold-out crowd Thursday night in Medford, Oregon and moves on for two shows in Portland Friday night. Tickets are still available for both shows in Portland. You can find all of the details on our Live Comedy Tour page.

Craig in the News
Media outlets are keeping an eye on Craig during his west coast tour, including Medford’s Mail Tribune.

President Obama on Late Night
It is rare for a sitting president to appear on a late night talk show, especially one after midnight. But on Tuesday night, President Barack Obama appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The Washington Post was among the many news organizations covering the story.

Some Dreamboys
The RSA’s @gittethuesen from Denmark (as did the RSA’s @AnnicaSays) spotted an old news article about the band Dreamboys, featuring drummer Craig Ferguson. She also sent along a link to a Dreamboys song. Thanks to Ashley Harrison for posting both!

Randy Kagan Injured on Stage
In case you missed it, check out our story posted early Tuesday morning about comedian Randy Kagan being tackled on stage by an unknown assailant at the Improv in Hollywood late Friday night.  The website LAist.com also reported on the incident. We hope Randy is recovering well and will be performing again soon.

We’re getting closer to the world of Doctor Who every day. As the website Scotsman.com reports, Scottish scientists have come up with a real-world version of the sonic screwdriver, to help surgeons. Thanks to the RSA’s @butterfly7rose for the link.

Randy Kagan Attacked On Stage
Comedian Randy Kagan, who has opened for Craig Ferguson many times, was performing a set at the Improv comedy club in Hollywood on Friday night, when an unidentified man jumped up on the stage and tackled him to the ground.  He was able to fight off the assailant with the help of other comedians in the club but the club’s security guards released the man before police could arrive on the scene.  Randy was bruised and his wrist was injured in the fall.

Randy told Los Angeles local television station KCAL that he won’t be going back to the club. We hope you’re all right, Randy!

San Luis Obispo Beckons

After a brief rest on Monday, Craig Ferguson resumes his west coast tour Tuesday evening at the Christopher Cohan Performing Arts Center at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California.  Next up this week are Napa, CA;  Medford and Portland OR; and Snoqualmie, WA.  If you are going to be in the audience at any of Craig’s shows, we appreciate your photos (no flash photography and no video, please!) and your stories to share with the RSA!

Humphreys in San Diego
The RSA’s @NancyInTampa took a road trip to see Craig perform live at all four of his stops in California this week.  She was in Lancaster on Saturday night and in San Diego on Sunday, sending along some photos of the picturesque Humphreys hotel and concert venue in San Diego.  Craig’s name was on the sign out front and his picture was on the front desk.  Humphreys is right on the bay and the stage is outdoors, giving people a chance to enjoy the weather from their balcony window or from seats right next to the marina.  Even people on their boats can enjoy the shows, we’re told.

Craig Coverage
As Craig makes his way north, newspapers are publishing interviews and stories about his arrival, including the Mustang Daily which is the student newspaper at Cal Poly.

Dirk Weems’ Mother
What would happen if former footballer Dirk Weems was paid a visit by his mother on the set of ESPN UK? Hilarity ensues, of course:
