Tour Rolls On
Craig Ferguson‘s New Deal Tour rolls on across New England and into Canada this week, with stops Wednesday at The Wilbur Theater in Boston, Thursday at the Flynn Center in Burlington, Vermont, and a pair of shows Saturday night in Montreal. You can see the full tour schedule with dates, times, locations and links for tickets on our Live Comedy Tour page. The Burlington Free Press newspaper talked with Craig to preview his upcoming show.

Edinburgh Awaits Craig’s Return
After more than 20 years away, Craig will be back at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. Last time, he was doing stand up comedy in character as “Bing Hitler.” This time, he’ll be himself, hosting his SiriusXM radio show. The show will be on at its regular time in the U.S., which means the live shows will be late at night in Scotland. The Spectator and The Guardian newspapers are previewing the festival, and both make note of Craig’s upcoming appearances in his home country.

Double Doctor
As part of the festivities at ComicCon in San Diego, the BBC released a trailer for this year’s Christmas special episode of Doctor Who, which will feature two Doctors in Peter Capaldi‘s final episode. If you’re a fan of the show’s early days, you’ll appreciate what’s ahead.

Craig on Today
Since Craig has been appearing on the east coast, he used the opportunity to drop in on Kathie Lee and Hoda on The Today Show last week. As usual, hilarity ensued.

New Doctor
In a trailer aired during the men’s final of Wimbledon, the 13th Doctor for the long-running British TV series Doctor Who was unveiled. See the trailer in the story reported by the BCC. It will be the first time the Doctor has been portrayed by a woman. Whittaker replaces 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi, who will leave the series in this year’s Christmas special.

Corden’s Third On The Way
Late Late Show host James Corden and his wife Julia are expecting their third child, according to The Hollywood Reporter and other outlets. The couple have a son and daughter, ages 6 and 2.

Being The Clue Giver
Sometimes on Celebrity Name Game, Craig simply needed to have his special effect before he could on.

Pre-Show Publicity
The latest leg of Craig Ferguson‘s centipede-sized New Deal Tour gets started later this month, and the pre-show publicity machine is already rolling. Craig did a nice podcast interview with the Asbury Park Press newspaper, where he talked about his career, doing stand up comedy and Game of Thrones. He also spoke with the ABC Radio station in New York about politics in comedy. And be sure to set those DVRs! As Craig gears up for his east coast run, he’ll be appearing on the 10-11am hour of NBC’s Today Show on Tuesday, July 18, reports Headline Planet. Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb for spotting it first.

Montreal To Honor Craig
When Craig appears for a pair of shows at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, he will also receive the festival’s Alumni Tribute Award, reports the Montreal Gazette. One of Craig’s first appearances in North America was at the festival, and it helped lead to other opportunities along the way.

Radio Show Bingo
Craig Ferguson fan @Stimpsonjcat67 put together a bingo game you can play while listening to Craig’s SiruisXM show. It features things that seem to happen on almost every show, like when Craig or Joe step away from the microphone, Craig says “Tweety” or when he cusses. It’s a great idea. Play along and have fun!

Second Chances
We haven’t shown an exciting final round of Celebrity Name Game for a while, so here’s one from “second chance week.”

A note to our email subscribers: To keep the spam police happy, we need to do little housecleaning with our mailing list from time to time. If our system detects that you haven’t opened or clicked on any of our emails for a while, we remove you from the list to keep it current. We did one of those cleanups this week.

If you stop getting our emails but later decide you want to get them again, you can sign up using the subscription box on the right hand side of the home page or on any article page. You’ll get an email right away requiring you to click on a link to verify that you’d like to subscribe. Once that’s done, you’ll get the next regular weekly email that comes out, usually early on a Wednesday morning.

On the other hand, if you’ve been an email subscriber but never really open or look at them, we urge you to unsubscribe, partly because we don’t want to sent emails to anyone who isn’t using them, but also because our total list numbers are limited. By unsubscribing, you’ll leave a little bit of breathing room for new fans to sign up! We’ll still alert you to our latest weekly posts via Facebook and Twitter. Thank you for being loyal subscribers!

Thanks to the RSA’s @bghrubarb for spotting those posts.

A Bit Of Fry
Craig recently did an excellent interview on the radio show with the always interesting Stephen Fry. If you didn’t have a chance to hear it, enjoy.

Big Yin, Big Art
Legendary Scottish comedian Billy Connolly turns 75 this year, and Glasgow is paying tribute by painting three huge murals, representing different moments from his career. As BBC Scotland reports, they have been added to the city’s official mural trail. Lang may yer lum reek, Big Yin. Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb for spotting the story.

Late Late Show In London
If you haven’t had a chance to see some of James Corden‘s week of episodes of The Late Late Show In London, check them out. He had a chance to talk and sing with a bunch of celebrity guests back home and had a great time.

Schooled in Comedy
One day on Celebrity Name Game, Craig took us to stand up comedy school:

Stand Up Shows Coming Soon
It’s been a while, but Craig Ferguson is gearing up to do some stand up comedy appearances this summer. So far on the list are Red Bank and Montclair in New Jersey; Peekskill, Westhampton Beach, Huntington and Manhattan in New York; Burlington in Vermont and Boston. Fans will know Craig has appeared at several of these locations before, including the Count Basie Theatre and the Wilbur. Most of the tickets are on sale now or will be in the next couple of days. If additional dates are confirmed, we’ll add them to our Live Comedy Tour page. Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb, @Colleen_Byrne and @NancyInTampa who were among the first to spot the new shows, and thanks to the people behind the scenes @TheCFergShow who posted the dates as well.

Upcoming Guests
Jerrod Carmichael and Matt Walsh are among Craig’s upcoming guests this week on his SiriusXM radio show. More will be announced soon.

Bond, James Bond
If you’re a fan of the James Bond series of films, you probably have a “favorite” Bond, from among the actors who have portrayed the British spy. One of the men who held the role the longest was Roger Moore, who passed away in May. Moore’s Bond was more camp and self-aware than the others. He was willing to let his audience in on the joke while still keeping the “thrill” in pictures meant to be thrillers. A man named Marc Haynes posted a note on his Facebook page about his two encounters with Moore, and it says a lot about what a movie star can be, and should be.

Falcon Facts
Just when you thought you heard it all on Celebrity Name Game, Craig turns up with some facts about falcons.
