Craig to Appear on CBS This Morning on Friday
Set those DVRs! After appearing on ABC’s The View, The Late Show with David Letterman and in person at the Paley Center for Media on Thursday. October 4th, Craig Ferguson will be up early the next morning on Friday, October 5th, to appear on CBS This Morning, which airs from 7-9am “in your region.” From there, he’ll kick off his 10-day tour of the northeastern US at the Tropicana in Atlantic City on Friday night before returning to New York for his Radio City Music Hall show on Saturday, October 6th. That will be three television interviews in less than 24 hours, so we’ll be seeing plenty of Craig as the week draws to a close!

We Want Your Stories!
As Craig begins his 10-day Live Comedy Tour, we want to hear your stories. Will you be in the audience for Craig’s question and answer session at the Paley Center for Media? Will you be in Atlantic City or Radio City Music Hall to see his show and Josh Robert Thompson warming up the crowd? How about in Connecticut, Pennsylvania or upstate New York?

If you are able to write a brief account of your adventures (including the excitement of getting to and from the show if interesting things happen along the way), we’d be happy to share it with the rest of Craig’s fans here on the RSA News website. Still photos (from venues that allow pictures – please turn off your flash and allow the existing lighting to work its magic) are also welcome. You can send us your story and photos using the form on our Contact Us page, or just tweet us a link to your blog or website.

When Craig was in Las Vegas last month, several fans sent us their stories and they were enjoyed by readers around the world. Since you’re getting the chance to see Craig in person, share the joy with your fellow robot skeletons! Your submissions make this website work. Thanks in advance!

Disptach on Dispatch
If you enjoyed the band Dispatch on the Late Late Show last week, take a look to see if they might be coming to a city near you. The website BroadwayWorld.com is reporting on the band’s tour, which began Monday night in Minneapolis. If you’re in New York this weekend, they’ll be performing at Radio City Music Hall the night before Craig takes the stage.

Caine on Caine
Craig admits that he doesn’t do many celebrity impressions, but one of his best is Michael Caine. In this clip, Caine takes on those who imitate his distinctive style:

Tonight’s Guests

Monday on the Late Late Show, Craig talks with actor Ethan Hawke and we’ll hear the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd.  On Tuesday, Craig welcomes actress Mindy Kaling and comedian Carrot Top.

Ticket Update
As Craig Ferguson gets ready to launch his fall stand up comedy tour of the northeastern US, we’re keeping an eye on remaining tickets for his shows. Main floor tickets are sold out for his October 5th show at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, but mezzanine tickets are still available. As of Sunday evening, there are only 79 seats left at the Ridgefield Playhouse for the show on October 8th. Get those tickets soon because it will be sold out shortly! Most of the main floor seats are gone for the show in Hershey on October 9th, and only about 200 balcony tickets remain in Greensburg on October 10th. Book early to avoid disappointment! You can see all the details with dates, times, locations and ticket links on our Live Comedy Tour page.

Familiar Territory
Craig’s October 5th show at the Tropicana in Atlantic City will be his third show there in the past three years. He’ll also be at the Palace Theater in Greensburg for the third time. He was there in 2010 and 2007. And Craig will be making his second appearances at the State Theater in Easton, PA and the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. He performed in both venues in 2008.

If They Mated
The RSA’s @hoborobot has an unusual eye for detail. This time, she wondered what would happen if Dirk Weems and the Cheshire Cat got together. The result is pretty funny.

Video Clip
Before Craig officially became an American citizen, he was offered honorary citizenship in some cities and states around the country. The RSA’s @monroemk reminded us how it all began, in this clip:

The voice of Geoff Peterson, Josh Robert Thompson, will be opening for Craig’s shows throughout the run. Tickets are nearly sold out for most of the shows but there is still time to secure your seat. Craig’s TV Shows
The website CinemaBlend.com‘s television section is reporting on Craig’s production company selling ideas for two situation comedies to CBS, as we reported in our most recent post. Along with following up on Deadline.com’s original story, the writer mentions he has read Craig’s debut novel Between the Bridge and the River.

Dragon Fruit

The RSA’s @hoborobot wonders if instead of “dragon fruit” in the basket, Craig should have How To Train Your Dragon fruit.

CBS Makes Deals
Craig Ferguson and his production company Green Mountain West, helmed by the always delightful Rebecca Tucker, are celebrating this weekend after selling two situation comedy projects to CBS. As Deadline.com first reported, the shows are in development, each headed by an executive producer/writer with previous credits on the network. As is often the case in Hollywood, this is just one step in a long road to getting the shows produced. The deal does not mean CBS has agreed to air the new shows, only that it is putting some financial weight behind them as they are developed. A pilot script for each will be written, the shows could be preliminarily cast and a pilot episode could be shot in the coming months. We’ll keep you posted!

Getting Ready for Craig
Carlisle, Pennsylvania’s The Sentinel and Stamford’s ConnecticutPlus.com are report on Craig’s upcoming stops in the northeast.

Funny Fruit
As was noted on the show earlier this week, some of the more exotic fruits on Craig’s desk could be mistaken for other things, including the famous drawn-on hand puppet “Johnny” of ventriloquist Señor Wences. The RSA’s @hoborobot created an image to note the resemblance. And here is a clip of Señor Wences performing one of his classic routines.

Rock Fans Rejoice
The Late Late Show is known for featuring up-and-coming musical acts, many of which make their first national television appearance on the LLS stage. But the show also brings in some big names, like Melissa Etheridge last week, Snoop Dogg, The Sex Pistols and next week, rock n’ roll hall-of-famers Lynyrd Skynyrd. CBS has not yet officially posted the band on Monday’s schedule but the Florida Times-Union newspaper has confirmed the band’s appearance. This will be the second time the band has been on the show. The first was in October of 2009.

Lotion T-shirt
The RSA’s @HMSFox spotted a T-shirt on Fark.com that gives a funny twist to “it puts the lotion on its skin.”

Martian Fruit

The exotic fruits showing up on the Late Late Show reminded the RSA’s @hoborobot of the flamingo-like Martian birds from the Bugs Bunny cartoons. We wonder how they smell.

Craig Ferguson is an “American on purpose.” In his monologues and elsewhere, he has eloquently explained why voting is such an important part of being a citizen. And now, he is among the celebrities tapped by the the non-partisan group HeadCount to encourage voting in the upcoming election. The RSA’s @joannapowers2 spotted Craig’s photo (number 4 of 6) in a USA Today slideshow about the voting campaign.

On Tuesday evening, Craig tweeted:
