How Sweet It Is

After wowing the crowds in Easton, Pennsylvania on Sunday and Ridgefield, Connecticut on Monday night, Craig Ferguson‘s fall Live Comedy Tour moves in to Hershey, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, home of chocolate maker the Hershey Company. The photo shows the intersection of Chocolate Avenue and Cocoa Avenue downtown, and note that the street lights are shaped like Hershey kisses. This town takes its chocolate seriously.

Greg Freguson?
On his way from Connecticut back to Pennsylvania on Monday, Craig stopped in at Comedy Central in New York, where he was presented with a guest name tag reading “Greg Freguson.” The president of his production company, Rebecca Tucker, was not amused:

Glamour Backstage
Craig’s longtime assistant on his road trips is Phil Cottone, who tweeted a great picture of the glamorous backstage world:

now this is rock and roll #lifeontheroad #herecometheplayaaaas @CraigyFerg @joshrthompson pic.twitter.com/67f0zh2E

He also sent a photo of Josh Robert Thompson doing a pre-show microphone check on stage:

Keeping Busy on the Road
As for Craig himself, he caught a movie on Sunday night:

Off to 1030 screening of Taken2 in NYC. Hope big Liam releases the Kraken. #notcode #okmaybe

Your Stories
More stories are coming in from hobos who’ve seen Craig’s shows this week, including the RSA’s Peaches who said:

[stextbox id=”custom”]The Radio City Music Hall show was fantastic!!! Craig slayed us with laughter and Josh was hilarious as himself (Geoff isn’t his only persona y’all!)…the show ended entirely too soon! If you have tickets to a future Craig show, skellies, you will not be disappointed! 🙂 [/stextbox]

The RSA’s Marilyn, added this:

[stextbox id=”custom”]Just got home from seeing Craig in Easton PA. It was a HILIAROUS show. I laughed so much my face hurt when it was over, all to quickly. Craig is so animated and all over the stage, it is just a joy to watch. Loved hearing him ‘un-bleeped’ and finding out that what I though was being bleeped on TV is what it really is. Wish I could attend more of his shows.
Josh was a GREAT opener, all the better as I know his work. He is great fun on his own too.[/stextbox]

And here is a wonderful story from the RSA’s @cozyhobo:

[stextbox id=”custom”]Here’s an anecdote from RCMH. We (Jenita & I) had great seats. 10th row dead center. We were visiting with many Skellies in the audience. We noticed Michael Naidus a few rows behind us. There was a woman sitting by herself behind us. So I said Hello. She was adorable. Very petite, & young I thought. We asked her if she was a member of the RSA. “What?” Robot Skeleton Army. Oh she said laughing. I’m Josh’s mom. “Oh we heard you were here.” You did? totally confused. How? Twitter we told her. Then the 3 of us had a lovely conversation. She told us Josh had been doing this since he was 8 years old. We told her how we’d come from all over the world for the show, & how much we loved Josh. Later I overheard her tell that to Rebecca. (Who was sitting 1 seat away from me). While Josh was performing some of his more racy material, he’d say”Sorry Mom” & she would laugh so hard. We really liked her. And she looked too young to be his mom. Really. Just 1 of the zillion amazing things from RSA International in NYC.[/stextbox]

Remember, we want your stories! You can post your photos from the tour on our Flickr photo page and you can use our Contact Us form to send us your story as well as upload photos. You can also tweet us a link to your blog or website, which we can post and share with the RSA. Keep those stories coming!

Reviews and Previews
Nearby Harrisburg’s Patriot-News newspaper interviewed Craig before the show. And (Note: Spoilers!) Easton’s Express-Times reviewed his show in Easton on Sunday night. The RSA’s @cozyhobo spotted a blog post by writer Gail Worley, reviewing Craig’s show at Radio City Music Hall. And the RSA’s @GuySerota and his family saw Craig in Easton. He sent us a photo of his wife and son in the theatre before the show.

Craig Signs Autographs
Following his appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman last Thursday, Craig stopped to sign some autographs and have his picture taken with fans waiting outside the Ed Sullivan Theater. As you can tell from the video from the RSA’s @003lili, Craig is generous with his time, making sure that everyone who wanted a photo or a signature got one; even coming back at the last minute for “just one more.”

Photos from Radio City
Craig Ferguson played to a huge, enthusiastic crowd at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Saturday night. Josh Robert Thompson opened the evening with a 20-minute set including many of his impressions. As he departed, a video clip of Geoff Peterson introduced Craig, who arrived with the “RoBotQuettes,” a leather-clad version of Radio City’s famous Rockettes, complete with a high-kicking dance number. The crowd was loud and appreciative throughout the evening, greeting and leaving Craig and Company with thunderous applause. In the audience were many robot skeletons, hobos and other Craig fans from around the world, some of whom shared their photos of the evening with us:

Fan Stories from New York
The RSA’s @queenvanna put together her story and a great collection of pictures on her blog. Check it out!

The RSA’s Janet saw the show and said:
[stextbox id=”custom”]I had a great time at Radio City Music Hall tonight. I bought my tickets last December, the 10 month wait did not disappoint. It was indeed a great day for America — or New York City at least. Josh Robert Thompson was a great opener, leading us through “Here come the players, they’re so fine,” then doing a very funny set of impressions. Live Craig is a lot less “creepy” playing to a less intimate audience than a television camera. He was very funny and We didn’t have to guess what was bleeped out — at home viewers pretty much guess correctly anyway. I won’t go into details so as not to spoil the fun of audiences at future shows, but rest assured, you’ll love it.[/stextbox]

And the RSA’s Joe tells us:
[stextbox id=”custom”]Great show at Radio City tonight. Josh had a great opening set. Loved his Aahnold and Bob DiNiro impersonations! Craig killed with his baby’s stories and his alcoholic bits were dead on. I’m sober 24 years myself after drinking 19 years and missed my home group’s meeting to catch Craig’s show. But listening to Craig was like a really funny share at a meeting and I smiled on the Metro North ride home to Yonkers. Thanks for that![/stextbox]

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their pictures and stories with the RSA. Are you seeing Craig live and in person this week? We’d like to see your photos and hear about your experience. We’ve added a Flickr photo page where you can upload pictures, and you can use our Contact Us form to send us your story as well as upload photos. You can also tweet us a link to your blog or website, which we can post and share with the RSA. Stories written by fans like you help make this website work!

Craig on the Radio
Before appearing at Radio City, Craig was interviewed on one of the local CBS-owned radio stations in New York, Fresh 102.7, about the show. Thanks to the RSA’s @bgrhubarb for tracking down the interview for us to enjoy:

Radio City
Saturday night marked Craig Ferguson‘s return to New York City, to preform on one of the country’s greatest stages, Radio City Music Hall (photo by @Colleen_Byrne). After selling out two shows at Carnegie Hall in 2010, it was time for him to play the even larger venue, with 6200 fans filling the seats. Josh Robert Thompson opened with a 20-mintue set, then the crowd welcomed Craig for a night of plenty of laughs (and as usual, only one joke). Before the show, Craig tweeted:

Big show in NYC tonight. I get to do high kicks to a full house at Radio City. #hopemypantsdontrip #balls #Iwillalsotellajoke

Late Late Show Producer Michael Naidus was in the crowd, tweeting (photo by @Colleen_Byrne):

@joshrthompson currently killing it at Radio City. #herecomedaplayas

A few minutes later, he added (photo by @SecretNakedHobo):

@CraigyFerg and the RoBotQuettes hit the stage in New York. #itsagreatdayforamerica

@SecretNakedHobo captured more images of Craig on stage Saturday night:

You can also tweet us a link to your own blog or website where you’re telling your Craig-related stories. The rest of the robot skeleton army enjoys seeing what you’ve been enjoying on the tour!

Craig on Letterman
For reasons unknown, Craig did not appear on CBS This Morning on Friday but on Thursday, he stopped by the Ed Sullivan Theatre for an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.  Waiting near the stage door, @003lili managed to pop into a photo of Craig taking another photo. Craig at the Super Bowl
Craig has been mentioning it on the show for weeks, but CBS waited until today to officially announce that there will be a special Late Late Show following the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 3rd. After the post-game festivities, local CBS stations will get 30 minutes for their late local newscast, then Craig will host the Late Late Show in New Orleans. We’ll have details about the show, guests and more as the date draws closer.

Michael in NYC
Also in New York this week is LLS Producer Michael Naidus, who went to the Yankees game on Wednesday night. The moment was captured by none other than Keith Olbermann, who tweeted:

New York Digs Craig

Fun with Fruit
The RSA’s @hoborobot is learning more about the fruits in the basket on Craig’s desk. What did we learn? There are a lot of unusual fruits out there.

Craig on Howard 2004
Here is another pair of video clips for those of you who enjoy Craig’s more distinctive Scottish accent of years past. Back in 2004, just after being told he would become the new permanent host of the Late Late Show, Craig sat down for a conversation with Howard Stern on his radio show. NOTE: Please keep in mind that this is a typical Howard Stern show. These clips contain adult themes of a sexual nature and coarse language. Viewer discretion is advised.

Tonight’s Guests
Wednesday on the Late Late Show, Craig talks with actor Keanu Reeves and biologist Dan Riskin. On Thursday, Craig’s guests are actress Roseanne Barr and actress Keke Palmer.

Bigger Studio, Bigger Guests

The people who book guests for the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson have scored a big one for later in October. Actor Tom Hanks will be on the show for the first time. Hanks’ son, actor Colin Hanks, has been on the show twice, but never Tom himself. Another big name coming up later in the month is actress Susan Sarandon, who has been on the show twice before. You can see the most up-to-date listings on our Guests page.

Rubbing Elbows
The president of Craig’s production company, Rebecca Tucker (pictured at center), was backstage on Monday night to meet the band:

Carrot Top

Props comedian and Las Vegas regular Carrot Top is on Tuesday’s Late Late Show. He sent a picture from backstage.

Sunday Morning
Craig recently complained that he’s never been interviewed on 60 Minutes. But he has been interviewed on CBS Sunday Morning, back in 2008 around the time of his appearance at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Here is the interview in two parts:
