UPDATED: Stand Up Special Coming to Netflix March 1503 Craig On Stage 20b
Craig Ferguson‘s new stand up comedy special I’m Here To Help is coming to Netflix beginning March 15th. The website DigitalSpy.com included Craig’s special in an article mentioning other comedy shows coming to the video streaming service in March, including offerings from Louis C.K., Brian Posehn, Tom Papa, Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme. We’ve spotted no promotional clips so far but we’ll include them here as soon as they become available.

After Craig’s previous specials were released on Netflix, the special became available on DVD a few months later. We’ll keep an eye out for any official announcements of a release date and pass them on to you.

Stand Up Stories
03 Craig On Stage in Charlotte - Smaller
Lots of roboskellies had a chance to see Craig Ferguson and Josh Robert Thompson performing live in Wisconsin and Michigan last weekend. All this week, we’re featuring stories from fans who went to the shows and sent us their thoughts. This post is from the RSA’s @mad_bears, who attended the show in Milwaukee last Friday:

[stextbox id=”custom”]We wanted to share our experience of seeing Craig and Josh in Milwaukee with the rest of the RSA.

This was our first chance to see Craig live. We’d seen one of his concert specials on TV so we knew a little about what to expect from his live show. We were not disappointed.

We live in Madison, a little over an hour away from Milwaukee. We decided to take the chance to take a day off and go over early, which was a good thing because of Winter Storm Q, which rolled across Wisconsin the night before our trip. Luckily the roads weren’t too bad, and we had a nice day in Milwaukee before the concert. If you ever get the chance to go to the Pabst Theater where Craig performed, the Hilton Garden Inn is a few blocks to the south. It’s a century-old insurance office building that’s been beautifully rehabbed into a modern hotel.

Pabst Theater InteriorWe arrived at the Pabst Theater about an hour before showtime. Our seats were about five rows back on the right side of the stage, so we got to see Craig and Josh relatively up close. Josh started offstage with the familiar “Here Come the Players,” and we all replied with “They’re So Fine!” before he came on stage. Josh did a little less than half an hour of standup. He was so good we could have listened to him for a lot longer. At one point he read from Fifty Shades of Grey in different celebrity voices. He could have read the whole book the voices were so good. It’s incredible to see the voices come out of Josh’s mouth instead of Geoff’s. Josh weaved humorous stories and jokes among the impressions. He’s an all-around talented guy.

We expected there might be some break between Josh and Craig, but the transition was seamless. Craig bounded on stage and was in motion all night. It’s a very high-energy show. Many of his topics were ones he’s touched on for the LLS, but in much greater depth and uncensored. He also covered topics he couldn’t touch on network TV. Just as on LLS, he delivered them all with that twinkle in his eye and those terrific facial expressions.

Craig opened the show talking about how cold he thought it was in Wisconsin, even if we Wisconsinites didn’t think it was all that cold on Friday. He joked that his balls refused to get off the airplane and said they’d wait for him there.

At the end of the show, Josh came back on stage and he and Craig did a little bit of Craig and Geoff ad-libbing. Then a man from the audience approached the stage and Craig wondered what he was up to. Josh realized what was happening first and said, “Oh it’s the Wisconsin hankies.” The man had brought two red University of Wisconsin towels. One said Craig and the other mistakenly said Jeff (should have been Josh or at least Geoff). They both put the hankies into their pants, letting them hang down in front. Craig said “This is only the right size because it’s so (oooh, la la) cold here!”

We had a great time, and would highly recommend the show if you get the chance to go.[/stextbox]

Stand Up Stories
03 Craig On Stage 008-smaller Since Craig Ferguson and Josh Robert Thompson appeared on stage last weekend in Wisconsin and Michigan, several robot skeletons have been sending us their stories. We’ll post one each day this week. The first comes from the RSA’s Craig S., who was the person who gave Craig and Josh the Wisconsin “hankies” at the end of Friday’s performance. He writes:

[stextbox id=”custom”]My face is still sore, and my voice is hoarse from all of the laughing during Craig and Josh’s performance at the Pabst theater in Milwaukee! I was the person who presented the Wisconsin “hankies” to them, at the end of their show and was happy to see that they both enjoyed “modeling” the hankies for us. I’ve been a member of the studio audience for the Late Late show at CBS and I love Craig and Geoff’s ad-lib/spontaneous sense of humor. I’m looking forward to seeing another TV taping and the new set the nest time I visit Los Angeles. Thanks for a fun evening while visiting Milwaukee![/stextbox]
