Update: Bill Carter of the New York Times is reporting that sources inside NBC say Jimmy Fallon will take over The Tonight Show when Jay Leno‘s contract expires in the fall of 2014, and the show will move back to New York. None of the news has been officially confirmed, but Carter routinely gets the story right long before anyone else. There is no word on who would succeed Fallon or whether the Late Night show would move to California. Moreover, it’s uncertain what this might mean for David Letterman, whose contract also ends in 2014. We’ll continue to follow the story as it develops.

Stand Up Rocks

Craig Fergusonâ€˜s newest stand up comedy special I’m Here To Help is getting a good response on Netflix. The show was recorded in front of two sold out crowds at Washington, DC’s Warner Theatre in November of 2012. If you haven’t seen the preview, take a look:

Late Late Show guest Aaron Eckhart stars in a new film called Erased, reports Reelz.com.

Pickler Dances

LLS guest Kellie Pickler, who shaved her head last year for cancer awareness, has been kicking up her heels on Dancing With The Stars. E! Online has pictures of the country singer and more cast members modeling sequined outfits.

Guest Update

The Late Late Show schedule has been updated through March 29th. As you’ll see on our Guests page, the show will air encore presentations on Thursday and Friday of this week and next week, due to the NCAA men’s basketball tournament on CBS. With the show in re-runs, we’ll take a short break and return on Monday. Of course, if any Craig-related news pops up between now and then, we’ll post it here.

Craig Supports the Troops
One of Craig Ferguson’s many charitable endeavors has been to support the work of the USO, which helps military members and their families around the world and here at home. Craig has toured with other celebrities in Kosovo and the Middle East to bring some much-needed entertainment to the troops. If you want to show your support, the USO always welcomes donations on its website.

Green’s Project Postponed

Late Late Show guest Seth Green had been working on a new animated comedy series based on Star Wars, but as Wired.com and others have reported, it appears the project will be at least postponed and possibly dropped, ahead of the new Disney-owned Star Wars sequel trilogy coming to theaters.

Craig Talks USO

Note: An appearance by the Boston Pops in Arizona coming up in November will NOT be hosted by Craig Ferguson as the public television station in Phoenix announced last week. The president of Craig’s production company, Rebecca Tucker, tells us that the station mistakenly made the announcement, which which we had spotted. It has since been removed from their website and from ours.

Corporate Affair
Craig Ferguson‘s mother-in-law Linda Cunningham‘s latest book from her “Small Town Girl” series of novels has been released. Check out the video trailer, which sets the stage for the romance titled Corporate Affair.

Neverwhere on Radio
Neil Gaiman‘s series Neverwhere has been a novel, a play and a comic book. Now, as the BBC reports, it is being broadcast as a radio drama. You can hear the first of the six installments from BBC Radio 4 online (Note: There may be restrictions on playback in some countries). When you play the opening installment, you’ll actually hear the end of another program and a promo before the episode begins. Thanks to the RSA’s @Fronneke for the links!

Kronos Flies?
In the spirit of the new film Oz the Great and Powerful reaching theaters, the RSA’s @hoborobot imagined how Kronos, King of the Monkey People, would look as a flying monkey, while still wearing his elevator operator’s uniform. It seems to work!

Enjoy three all-new episodes of the Late Late Show this week, beginning Monday when Craig welcomes actor Seth Green and actress Jenna-Louise Coleman. On Tuesday, our fearless leader chats with actress Michelle Monaghan. And on Wednesday, watch for actor Aaron Eckhart and musician Kellie Pickler. As the show goes on spring break, watch for encore presentations on Thursday with producer Quentin Tarantino from the December 12th episode and Friday with actor Bradley Cooper and chef Wolfgang Puck from the December 14th show. New tapings resume at CBS Television City on April 8th.

Scooby-Doo Where Are You?
If you’re waiting to see Craig Ferguson‘s new stand up comedy special which began appearing on Netflix Friday, you might also want to look up a movie called Big Top Scooby Doo. In it, Craig provides the voice of the character Whitney Doubleday, a circus animal trainer. Of course, Craig isn’t a blond in real life, but the face seems to be a cross between Craig and Shaggy. Secretariat’s Past

After finding this picture, the RSA’s @hoborobot wondered if Secretariat had a previous life working in the theater.

Meanwhile, we went looking on the googly web and the face tubes for a Secretariat costume. The closest we could find is sold by company in England for about $450. The fancier eye makeup and teeth may be a custom addition.

Fans of Elvis Presley took note of Craig Ferguson‘s recent challenge on the Late Late Show. The website Elvis.com, official website of the King of Rock n’ Roll, mentioned the show and how Craig is a fan, who says he can go toe-to-toe against anyone when it comes to Elvis trivia. As Deadline Hollywood reported last summer, sports commentator Jim Rome made a big move from Premiere Radio Networks to CBS, where his talk show has been gradually adding more stations to its lineup. Meanwhile on the television side, his ESPN show Rome Is Burning has ended but he’s working on a new show for Showtime starting in the fall.
