Josh as Geoff
06 Geoff Petersen Josh Robert ThompsonIt was this week three years ago that Josh Robert Thompson became of the voice of Late Late Show sidekick Geoff Peterson. In the earliest days, after Geoff was built by the Mythbusters Grant Imahara, the robot skeleton’s voice was pre-recorded by Craig, with a Dalek-style electronic sound. Then, Josh improved on the concept by creating a pre-recorded voice based loosely on Star Trek’s George Takei, cartoon icon Snagglepuss and other influences. And after a while, it became apparent that having the sidekick able to respond in the moment would be more funny and more effective, Josh was brought in full-time. On Saturday, Josh tweeted his thanks:

Today is my 3 year anniversary as the voice and operator of @GeoffTheRobot. Thanks @CraigyFerg @grantimahara @michaelnaidus & all of YOU!
