Bowing to pressure from fans, Disney appears to have given up on its controversial makeover of Princess Merida from Brave. As reported by Jezebel.com, Disney has taken down the makeover drawings from its website after an online petition drew thousands of signatures and the change was blasted by the film’s director.

Meyers’ selection had been widely expected, with SNL chief Lorne Michaels as the new executive producer of both shows. The producers of the upcoming independent film Nowhere Girl, starring none other than Josh Robert Thompson, are wrapping up post production and have turned back to the crowdsourcing website Kickstarter to help raise money for marketing the film. Contributions can be made in many different amounts, which carry a variety of goodies in return. They hope to release the film later this year.

When it was announced earlier this spring that Jimmy Fallon would succeed Jay Leno as host of The Tonight Show, NBC also announced the show would return to New York. The ambitious plan included creating a huge new studio inside Rockefeller Center by carving out two existing studios, but as The Hollywood Reporter explains, the remodeling project has been scaled back considerably.
